the last obstacle to clearing the floor shows itself. kyle figures raw power would suffice for breaking through the next level.

he releases a chansey from its pokeball. there's only one mpve it shpuld be using if it wasn't healing, and the ppkemonquickly picks up its objective once it sees no patients around it.

an egg bomb is thrown to the walls by the chansey, an explosion clearing a chunk of boulders and debris.

Faced with another obstacle Lucas reached into his fanny pack and retrieved a pokeball. Gently tapping the button he released the aerodactyl within. The prehistoric pokemon stretched its wings momentarily before pulling them close to its body.

Following a command from the head scientist a muddy aura with streaks of purple began to stream down the aerodactyl's right wing. Backing up to gain speed the aerodactyl would charge toward the wall and hit it with a giga impact.

Noelle briefly marvels over the sight of Lucas' aerodactyl, having always had a soft-spot for the prehistoric pokemon. The one she possessed was a menace, often trying to eat the neighborhood pachirisu one too many times for her liking. She herself soon releases yet another dragonair. It looks exactly the same as the other, but Noelle can tell them apart like a bee from a wasp.

"Hyper beam," she instructs the elegant serpent, who seems to understand to understand the need of a delicate touch. From the sapphire orb that rests on its throat, a bright light shines before a thick beam began to drill into the heavy stone and bedrock.

AS THE CAVE-IN IS CLEARED, the whole chamber quakes. Although the rubble is cleared enough for safe passage, the cave's walls' integrity has been compromised. A violent fissure travels from the wall to the ground you all stand on. Suddenly, the sound of a large crack alerts everyone to their apparent dilemma. The floor begins to fall out from underneath them.[break][break][break]

As everyone falls, they see a vast cavern system filled with magma. If the falling rock wasn't dangerous enough, the magma below belches and surges with incredible heat. Find a way to safely land or be smothered by rock and magma.[break][break][break]

With the rubble cleared Lucas returned his aerodactyl just moments before he felt the first quake. The fissure that followed snaked across the floor faster than he could react. In seconds the floor under Lucas Lane crumbled beneath his weight and he began to yell as he plummeted into the cavern system below.

As Lucas plummeted he began to move his free hand as if he were directing an orchestra. The initial movement mustered invisible stealth rocks, and the subsequent directed the stones to break the group's fall.

the floor collapses beneath them. they're given little time to react right after kyle recalls his chansey. within the last seconds of stable footing, he manages to replace the chansey with his whimsicott, dragging it close to him before gravity drags them down.

kyle feels invisible rocks scrape against him. it slows their descent a bit, but he couldn't say that it was comfortable. he tries to fall feet first, trying to crash down any rocks with his foot instead of his face, while holding the grass-type as close to him as possible in case it gets blown away.

"tailwind!"

an updraft of wind was already readied by the prankster. a wave of heat from the lava below comes with it, but the gusts were at least strong enough that their terminal velocity slows down. kyle knows it's not enough, however, as he scrambles to recall any other pokemon he brought that could be helpful.

A small shriek erupts from the Noelle as the floor beneath them cracks and they're sent plummeting. Eyes squint, a tremble working its way down the falling woman at the sight of magma pooling just beneath them, promising a, hopefully, quick death to those it devours. Hands scramble, desperately trying to call out one of her pokemon - anyone of them.

"Dragonite!" She calls out for one of her faithful companions in desperation, the light of a pokeball opening briefly giving her a moment of sheer relief...Only for the terror to return in a tenfold when its not the mighty dragon whose released, by the equally terrified form of Razberry, her tympole. It clings onto her, shrieking in unison with its trainer. "Why, why are you here?!" Her disappointment is outweighed only by her terror.

Thankfully, she catches onto what her companions have planned - well, only Kyle. She's not entirely sure what Lucas is doing. "Bu-" The words choke in her throat, muffled by the tympole's own screaming, "listen!" She grabs onto the ball-shaped pokemon, "bubblebeam!" Mouth already wide from its terrified sobbing, large bubbles spew from its gullet. To Noelle's amazement, they coat the air, as though sitting on something invisible. She can only hope it'll help in making their descent less bone breaking.

Claws outstretched, the legendary would raise open palms to attempt to cushion their fall.

EVERYONE LANDS SAFELY. The dramatic sweeping of stone, wind, and water are accompanied by the mighty presence of a Groudon. Magma bubbles all around them, churning hellishly like a crimson ichor. Occasionally, the party would be able to see a Slugma or Magcargo leisurely crawling across the walls.[break][break][break]

Something or several things roar deeper in the cave. Ancient footprints can be seen carved into the walls should you examine carefully; however, the party quickly finds out that they must be careful, for any misplaced zagreus-step could result in an impromptu trip through Styx.[break][break][break]

he's not surprised by the groudon after having seen it before, but it didn't stop him from staring at it in awe. the invisible rocks that they hit on the way down was another thing that bewilders him. he hopes one of the people around him will ask about it in his stead.

"we're not done yet, i think." the grass-type is recalled in favor of a pokemon more suited to handle the predicament in their hands. "water spout!"

the jellicent hovers over their group on the palms of the groudon. its translucent body starts to swell and color starts to fill in its body. in one go, a huge explosion of water splashes from above them, showering the magma below with water.

it should give them enough footing to start wandering around to collect their bearings once the molten earth cools down, he supposed.
