THE HOENN ADVENTOURS BRING YOUR PARTY to New Mauville. The steel complex underground is a hotspot for steel and electric-type Pokemon. However, the events of The Ultra Beast War have revealed deep-running caverns in the lower levels. The corridors ring hauntingly with odd winds, and as human-made constructs turn into earth and stone, your party reaches a dead-end. Your EXPLORER KITS and Pokemon should be able to help you. The company has encouraged the most intrepid and capable of trainers to dig deeper with their Pokemon, after all.[break][break][break]

Should you break down the walls, perhaps, you'll find treasures to take home for yourselves. In order to receive a treasure, you must fully reveal it by breaking all the tiles they are contained in; however, you can only break down 3 tiles per floor. So, choose which tiles to break wisely![break][break][break]

If a tile says requests for a type, all moves used must be of that type unless otherwise specified. If a tile asks for a particular power value, you must hit that value exactly (e.g. total 260 - all of your moves added together, must total 260 power).[break][break][break]

For each "floor", you can only break three tiles before advancing to the next floor.
Everyone must use a move. Please bold used move and include base power of used move.

Stat-altering moves and abilities will not affect the base power in this event.
You have access to all pokemon in your pc; however, you can not use Ditto.
There is no locking in of pokemon; you can catch pokemon to help you complete the challenge even after the challenge has started!

This was a terrible idea. The internet craze had drawn Gigi in like a Mothim to a Lampent. Dungeon-esque, or so they stated, adventures would be coordinated by the League in order to explore newly unearthed caves. While exploring wasn't necessarily a bad idea, although the idea of physical labor didn't thrill the streamer, the fact that she chose Mauville of all the places was a masochistic choice on her half.[break][break]
The war was still fresh in her mind, the memory imprinted deep within her psyche. Visions of Ethernet glitching, seizing, in front of her renewed feelings of helplessness. What did she think coming back to this area would do? That she would conquer her trauma and ease her mind? Hah. She was only good at escaping from reality: it happened in Unova and surely this would be no different.

Worst of all, Gigi didn't even have her stream to turn her attention to. The deep underground was an electrical dead area. Well, okay, not completely. But the static and lag just wasn't working. Emergency calls could still be made which was good, but.. that was the only good thing about this situation. [break][break]
Gigi forced out a laugh, a strained smile on her face. What else could she do besides laugh off the trauma that laid claim to her mind? Luckily, the power plant did bring back some good memories. As surprising as that sounded, Gigi recalled that the old power plant was one of the first places she visited when she had arrived in Hoenn. It was here that she caught Duracell who became a vital part of her team during the war.

A dark gaze scanned the area as she searched for her fellow party members. She stepped closer towards vague shadows that took the shape of humans. "Uh, hi. Are we all here for the adventour thing?" Gigi loved puns but saying "adventour" left a strange taste in her mouth. [break][break]
She continued to examine the surroundings. The light provided by the explorer's kit allowed her to see well enough. An adrenaline rush coursed through her veins as she noticed that the surrounding area was very much, in fact, like a dungeon or puzzle in an adventure game. Walls and obstacles blocked their paths.

Wandering away from the group, Gigi drew closer to the supposed dead end. To the right, an electric-like current caused the hair on her hands to stand at attention. Hm.. As she searched for a pokeball she called out to her party members, "I think there's something behind this." Not that she had any concrete evidence besides her hunch. If she was right, though, that evidence shouldn't be hard to produce.

"Hangry," Gigi summoned her Morpeko who blinked a drowsy greeting. "Aim an aura wheel at that wall." The rodent shot his trainer a puzzled look but she insisted. Finally, the Morpeko shrugged his little shoulders and focused on the obstacle in their path. An electrical aura surrounded him, charging up before being sent hurtling in the pointed direction.

If there was one thing she absolutely could not stand, it was the fact that there was still Electric-types that existed.

Now, for all intents and purposes, her Toxtricity was supposed to be Poison-type however there was still the nagging problem of it knowing so many Electric-type moves and it absolutely drove her nuts.

Ducking behind Josh, she threw the Pokéball forward, hearing the bursting of red light but turning away in order to avoid having to see what was going to happen next.

Utterly confused, the Toxtricity looked around—only to see the spiky-haired man that her human companion was hiding behind. “Myst! I, uh—“ she trailed off, before squealing and covering her ears.

“Use THAT!” she said, offering very little context whatsoever before hiding behind Josh. God, all these years and she still hated the sight of Electric-type attacks.

Shrugging, the Toxtricity then released an Overdrive, the reverberating sound echoing around the area and focusing it on the lower right-hand corner side of the wall they were faced with.

Moana chose, for the moment, not to dwell on the fact that he was back in Mauville, and the memories that came with that fact. The Kartana, dashing through groups of people and leaving severed limbs and punctured arteries in their wake. The Guzzlord, its tail slamming mercilessly past Keila's barrier. The Xurkitree, its monstrous, wiry body uprooting itself from the earth. The Naganadel, hissing and screaming as the attacks of his Pokemon knocked them dead. The Megalopolans, their screams and cries for help much more human than their toxic mounts.

And Groudon, roaring with the fury of a god as the earth erupted around it.

He shook himself. So much for not dwelling on Mauville. Now, he wasn't here as a fighter. He was here as a treasure hunter, interested in just whatever it was that the Megalopolans were digging for in their settlements.

He recognized gigi bae , but chose not to acknowledge that. Avoidance was not a perfect coping mechanism, but it would have to do for now, assuming she didn't bring it up herself.

The other two people here, though? He had no recollection of either of them. He supposed that was how it was in these adventours, though. Anyone could be anywhere. Hell, he'd considered signing up for Meteor Falls himself.

"I guess we're going with electric type attacks, then?" he concluded, smirking when Izumi Yamamura hid behind Josh Dragomir from her own Pokemon's attack. "I can help with that."

A moment later, Baffo the Barboach flopped next to the square of rock, battering at the wall with electricity coating his body, as Moana laughed. Who would've thought that he would be using a Barboach to dig?

Well, this was going to be fun. Going on a little adventure with his wife? Talk about a romantic getaway, and an exhilarating one too! They had been joined by a few other Trainers, hoping to find treasure in these walls. "Hi, yeah. We're here for it" Josh answered curtly to Gigi's inquiry with a gentle smile and a semi-bow of his head. "My name is Josh Dragomir, this is my wife, Izumi" he brought up, motioning to the dark-haired woman at his side. "And Lightning" he added as he motioned to the Raichu on his shoulder, who chirped in turn. Hopefully this would be danger-lite enough. They'd had enough fighting lately. So off they went! On a big adventure!

But what had they found? A lot of rock, a lot of boulders at that. The one in front of them, the first woman guessed, needed Electric attacks to break. Luckily, Josh already had Lightning out. As he always did. First came a Pokemon he didn't recognize, then Izumi sent out a Pokemon that, to his surprise, actually knew an Electric attack! Even if she hid behind him when she did it. Go figure. Some things just never changed. Then came a Barboach! He supposed it was his turn, wasn't it?

A slow grin crossed his face as adrenaline filled him at the prospect. "Lightning, VOLT TACKLE!" he called out, his own body feeling like it was supercharged with adrenaline as he watched the Raichu charge forward. "RAI-RAI-RAI-RAI-CHU-RAAAAIIII!" came the cry of the Raichu as Lightning's body was covered in an aura of sparks as he rammed straight into it, shattering the rocks with ease. As expected.

He supposed though, there was some business to take care of. While everyone was distracted, he turned and wrapped his arms around Izumi. Letting her rest her head on his shoulder, he placed a light peck on her cheek. Ensuring the others weren't watching, he let his hands wander a moment before playfully pinching her rear end. She was met with a wicked grin after that. Why? Well, if she wasn't focusing on the electricity being thrown around... He could take being swatted at.

Another peck, then he quickly turned as if nothing had happened to see the results of their attacks.

Gigi nodded absent-mindedly as the man introduced himself and his wife. Damn, wasn't he too young for one of those. "Uh, yeah. Nice to meet'cha." she awkwardly scratched the back of her head. "My name is Gigi."[break][break]
Oh, ew, gross. PDA. What a romantic setting for that type of shit. Couldn't they just get a room or something? Well, at least it was a small peck although his wandering hand said otherwise.[break][break]
Thankfully, the wall fucking exploded (okay, slight exaggeration but an electrified piece of rock just hit her and that was just-). Her attention quickly switched back to the task at hand. Time to see what was behind the wall--

Wait. Was this some sort of prank? [break][break]
Why in Arceus name were there more goddamn walls barring their way? She had never been in a cave, at least not in real life, but she was pretty sure this wasn't how they worked. If they weren't careful, who knows what could happen? Hah, surviving a fucking war only to be buried alive.

Despite the words of caution to herself, Gigi's actions took the opposite approach. Upon recalling Hangry, she released a Pokeball high into the sky. A white light momentarily shattered the darkness as two swords fell from the sky. Skillfully (aka luckily), Gigi caught one sword with each hand. She winced as pain shot in her wrists - Fuck. She forgot how heavy Hax was. [break][break]
The pain did not deter her, though. Attacking a reasonably sturdy wall with a pair of swords didn't seem like a great idea.. but when did Pokemon ever follow logic?

"Get ready for an aerial ace, Hax." The Doublade barely had time to react as they clumsily came crashing in the general direction of the blocked pathway. Instinctively, the blades sliced through the air which, in turn, sliced through the roadblock.

Of course, Izumi did not miss that action from her husband. Resisting the urge to eye roll his way (because they were in fucking public, good grief) she instead sighed.

“Really?” was all she could add a few moments later. Now that the first layer had been cleared away… it was time to go for the… wait, where the hell were they aiming at? Top-right?

Blinking confusedly, the Toxtricity looked her way again, and she groaned even louder. “Oh, come on… again?” she continued with another sigh. She was going to run out of sighs for the rest of the time they were here. Either way…

“Use it. Again. Yeah, ‘it’,” she emphasized, doing the classic ‘air quotes’ gesture at her Pokémon. The Toxtricity looked at her, very much confused by what the fuck she meant.

“That!” she continued, making a bold gesture and pointing at the top-right… side. “Again!” she went on, hoping that the Toxtricity took the fucking hint.

Finally, a moment of understanding as the Pokémon rumbled before letting loose with another Overdrive. Izumi plugged her hands into her ears the moment the echoing sound ripped through the area.

After all the time the two of them had been together, it was small wonder they had ended up married. Wait until this one heard about the kids... Either way, while the young one may have noticed and wasn't a fan of his actions, it seemed to have the effect that he wanted. Izumi scoffed and chided him, but was clearly not as anxious as before with all of the electricity flying around. Good. That's exactly what Josh had wanted, and while he kept that playful little grin to his expression, there was a business-like glint to his eye that said he wasn't just playing around. A moment of remembrance shone in his eyes, as the day he had nearly lost her glanced through his head once more. She might never recover from what had happened, and he had been able to do nothing about it. He couldn't back then... And he still couldn't now. He couldn't help her overcome the handicap but he could at least ease her when the time came. Distracting her, that was what this was. It was far from a perfect solution, but it was his responsibility as a husband to take care of her where she wasn't able to help herself.

Their efforts seemed to work for the time being, but there were more walls to take care of. And they needed to be careful, he thought. They'd just rocked the first wall with all they had... It might be best to tone it down for a little bit to prevent a cave-in. Considering his options, he brought out his Infernape. Izumi meanwhile, seemed to realize she needed her Toxtricity to use that Electric move again, but couldn't say it. And her Pokemon wasn't taking the hint.

"Overdrive" he spoke calmly, yet firmly to Izumi's Toxtricity as he motioned to the spot again. He reached over and placed a hand over Izumi's eyes for the moment. His expression had grown dulled down and cold, as the memories flooded him once again. It wasn't much, but at least this time he could be here for her.

"Ignis, use Fire Spin" he commanded to the Infernape, who conjured a spiral of flames and sent it careening towards the wall...

Moana rolled his eyes and tried not to snicker. Of course they'd gotten grouped with a couple. Now they'd have to deal with their lovey-dovey nonsense for... oh well.

Anyways, they were definitely doing more work than him when it came to the excavating, so he supposed he couldn't find fault with their methods for the moment. He recalled poor Baffo, sending out Sheru instead.

The Kabutops surveyed the scene curiously. She seemed to have no idea what was going on. If he'd walked in on a bunch of people and Pokemon walloping a wall for seemingly no reason, Moana supposed he'd be confused too.

"Ancient Power," he directed, and Sheru began to use her powers of rock to pull debris away from the wall, hopefully uncovering more buried secrets.

IN ORDER TO PARTICIPATE, follow the guidelines below:[break][break]

For each "floor", you can only break three tiles before advancing to the next floor.
Everyone must use a move. Please bold used move and include base power of used move.
Used pokemon moves must have a base power + multi-strike moves will only apply their base power once.
Stat-altering moves and abilities will not affect the base power in this event.
You have access to all pokemon in your pc; however, you can not use Ditto.
There is no locking in of pokemon; you can catch pokemon to help you complete the challenge even after the challenge has started!

As the weird-looking stone revealed itself, Izumi couldn’t help but feel—more than bothered when she saw it for what it was.

Having traveled through pretty much most of the known journeys while she was still a decade or so younger, she recognized it for what it was, before elbowing Josh in the side casually.

“You see that?” she remarked, pointing at the Odd Keystone. It gave her the creeps, honestly.

Now that they were getting closer to…whatever they were supposed to do, she wondered if it was wise to attack dirt with fire. But… well…

Nothing ever made sense in this universe, right?

Unballing a familiar-looking Quilava, she pointed at the dead-center of the wall.

“Flamethrower. Yes, I know it’s weird, but go!” she continued, before a controlled blast of flames peppered the wall.

He knew that shape. His eyes widened a moment as he recognized the shape, but he didn't jump to conclusions just yet. God he felt old. Izumi nudged him and seemed to have the same idea, and he nodded his head in turn. "Keep your wits about you" he advised quietly, starting to sound more like the veteran trainer that he was, than the handsy husband he'd been today.

Izumi suggested fire to use on the next wall. Strange, but he wouldn't go against his wife's judgement here. Fire was a powerful ally, after all. Nodding his head, he sent out Fawkes.

"Fawkes, Flamethrower!"

The Charizard launched a torrent of flames straight at the wall to join Izumi's attack with its own...

This dungeon had strange mechanics. First, a wall overloaded with electric energy and granted passage. Then, she sliced through rock with her Duoblade (granted even rock was nothing in comparison to the sharp blades). And now.. it sounded as if they needed to set the dirt on fire? Who designed the puzzles here? Because - damn - were they confusing and lacked sense.

As Gigi gathered the fallen loot, she released the young Shinx from his Pokeball. The golden kitten looked at the larger Pokemon with awe in his eyes. "This is gonna sound weird, but I need you to bite that wall." Shinx turned to his trainer, tilting his head to the side. Luckily, his youth and innocence made his faith in Gigi unshakeable.

Fire gathered around his fangs as he ~~nommed~~ struck at the dirt. Although the flames melted most of it, the taste of dirt caused his face to scrunch up. He turned with eager eyes, silently asking if he did a good job. Gigi chuckled and knelt beside the golden cub, "Good job, little guy." The praise caused the Shinx to beam.

Moana recognized that rock. Vaguely.

"Isn't that some weird ghost Pokemon or something?" he remarked to nobody in particular. Glancing around, he saw that the others viewed it with some mixture of recognition and surprise.

He really had no idea what the deal was here. What was it, some sort of legendary?

Anyways, they continued to attack the wall with fiery attacks, and Moana felt compelled to join in, even if he wasn't sure why they were switching types so much. Sending out his Pignite, he commanded, "Flame Charge!"

The fire-type rushed at the wall, striking it with a flame-cloaked tackle.
