Adrian went to grab a lighter from his pocket when he realized he must've misplaced it, though he didn't give up on searching until he'd frantically searched every pocket looking. Well f@#%...

Resourceful as he was though, Adrian was quick to sort through his storage pokemon before conveniently finding a Litwick he'd hatched... Probably about a year ago, huh. Time sure flies around here lately... (No kidding.)

After lighting a cig and safely setting Litwick upon his shoulder as a perch, he took a sharp drag that settled in his lungs for the odd moment before he exhaled a stream of smoke. "Because this is my home now, an' ain't shit changin' that soon."

He seemed to lose his edge, easing up a bit now that he was mentholated. Gesturing to some wild pokemon, he'd ask: "You gonna catch either of those?" Adrian appeared disinterested, wholly invested in his cigarette to do much else.

Bryan watched as the man struggled to light his match, feeling bad that he didn't offer his own lighter sooner. He knew the feeling all too well, and as far as he could remember he didn't have any Pokémon who COULD light his cigarettes. He was at least trying to be more involved in hoenn now, he signed up for the secret santa event. Something he normally wouldn't have done in the past but he wanted to spread some christmas cheer in light of recent....wars.. [break][break]

As he stared blankly into space, lost in thought Adrian brought him out of it with a question. To which he shook his head quickly "Yeah I'll catch that 'crobat' On the left." he said throwing a pokeball right at it. little did bryan know that he was fooled By zorua's illusion ability and he caught a zorua. As they stood around though Bryan pondered to him "and what made Hoenn a home you're willing to defend? The word now makes it sound like your from elsewhere." he said in a curious tone as he went over to pick up the pokeball.

That and perhaps he had no fondness of- "Sinnoh. I'm from Sinnoh." He can't recall if it'd ever come up in conversation between them before; likely not. They'd briefly met at the battle hut, and hardly caught a glimpse of each other since.

Ahead of them an Absol lies low in the brush, basking in the ambiance before two trainers arrived on scene. Although it could've easily darted off, it hadn't, making it an easy mark for a pokeball.

"Been meaning to take the League Gym Challenge, but I keep running into... distractions."
