He doesn’t have long to wait before someone comes along, this time pausing to talk to him, rather than scuttling off back to the town to keep away from the infected pokemon’s tantrum as soon as they caught sight of it in the distance. Arms lightly folded against his chest, the courier blinks and slowly puts on a smile as the other man jabs a thumb at the destruction. “No,” he says simply, Ankaa fluffing up her feathers by his side before grooming her chest with a nuzzle. “But even if it was mine, I wouldn’t admit it.” The smile on his lips curls into something more amused.
Angelo is about to let the stranger know the situation, that the advice floating around was to wait back in the local towns until this situation was dealt with, only for a phone buzz to interrupt. Automatically he fishes in his pocket to check his own, outdated model. Looks like his partner for his impromptu mission had arrived.
“Looks like it,” he agrees, putting his own phone away and turning to Ankaa as the other league affiliate releases a Machamp, his Togekiss fluttering out her wings and preparing for flight. “So should I call you Ji-Hoon? Ki? What would you prefer?” It wasn’t a naming convention that he was all too familiar with and he’d rather save the awkwardness, considering they were about to plunge into a Snorlax’s sleepy warpath.
Speaking of. It looked like it was about time for them to get started, since the party was all here. Angelo feels a prickle of excitement crackle in his bones, quietly itching for the challenge underneath all of the seriousness for this task to be completed as quickly as possible. After the effects of the war, after seeing these infected pokemon in action before, he knew better than to get too wrapped up in the thrill or the fear. That didn’t stop him from wanting to get this sorted as quickly as possible, however.
“It looks like it’s heading towards Oldale, let’s try and cut it off before we have to turn this mission into a full blown evacuation or something,” he suggests, Ankaa kicking up a bit of dirt as she flutters into the air and starts off towards the Snorlax, floating above so she could keep an eye out. Angelo starts after her. “Good start to the day, huh?”
