After the ball Zac Ramsay had thrown clicked shut, he would be left in near silence and darkness. The oppressive kind, where it seemed like it wanted to creep inside of your lungs and squeeze you from the inside out. Even the light crackles of the dying fire in the bush couldn't keep it at bay for long.

Silence.

Silence.

A rustle of leaves.

Silence.

Chu-e would not respond or seem present for the longest while. It was only after Zac's guard was at it's lowest that a ghostly pale hand would settle on his shoulder, squeeze tight. Slide downwards as if to go for Zac's throat.

Chu-e burst from one of the bushes, a Lampent at his side, the pokemon hovering close as if trying to snuggle her new trainer. He was panting, haggard, and pointed at Zac with his eyes narrowed. "Don't leave me again." While not a thread the way he said it kind of came off as one.

The hand was gone.

"Don't leave me again." Chu-e said, appearing at Zac's side. "Huh? Oh!" Zac remembered what Chu-e had been saying before about night terrors. Did he have some history of abandonment? The last thing Zac wanted to do was to carelessly ruin their camping trip. "Shit I'm sorry mate, I thought you were right behind me! Lets head back ay? I caught the little devil."
They returned to the campbush to find a Houndour snuffling around in their belongings. "Hey! Get outta there!" Zac shouted, and the trapped dog spin frantically around before rushing out the sole entrance and straight for them. Zac slung a Pokeball, which collided with the Houndour at high speed, capturing it.
He crawled back into their hiding spot, checking on their belongings. "He ate half the marshmallows and crewed through my camera strap!" Zac complained. "Well I guess that means smores are off the table."

Fed up with the Lampent's nuzzling, Chu-e called it back into the pokeball he had caught it in and stuffed it in his pocket. He would need to... give this thing to jayden cross or something later. Ghost types were just too creepy. "Man, it really got us far away from camp...." He muttered to himself, looking around. Was that a chill in the air? Maybe it was just the ghost residue from the Lampent.

Back at camp, he blanched at the sight of the dog in their things. At least Zac Ramsay caught it, so Chu-e was able to slide back into the weird bush as well and get seated again. "Just half the marshmallows? Maybe we can have half a smore?" Chu-e went to check his own bag, but was suddenly finding he was having a hard time lifting it up. When he opened it, he found out why: a Larvitar was nesting inside, mouth smeared with chocolate.

"... never mind. All the chocolate's gone, too." He had been looking forward to those. Oh well. Since the pokemon was asleep, Chu-e sighed as he tossed his own ball at the Larvitar.

  "Marshmallows are ruined and the chocolate's all in the Larvitar. What are we gonna do?"
    It was a real problem. Zac mulled it over as he stuffed his belongings back into the golden bag. The damage was worse than he had realized. Houndour had gotten into all of Zac's other supplies to. The jerky, trail mix, muesli bars, and even the backup rock-cakes! It was a total disaster. Without any food they'd have to head back home tonight!
    Outside, another of his spicy-rock-traps went off, and a cream and orange dog disappeared in a flash of light.
"Hmmmm, I have an idea. How are you with foraging?"

There was one last flash, as well, as a Fennekin vanished into one of the last ball traps that Zac Ramsay had prepared. Chu-e would take that one for himself as penitence.

"Well... I can pick whatever berries, mushrooms, and nuts up you want... but I won't know which I eat and which will make me barf over the moon, if that's what you mean." But, since it seemed they would suffer wilderness starvation otherwise, Chu-e crawled out of the bush so they could get to work.
