And just like that, the sealeo decides to repeat the same move all over again. Selena reckons a change in strategy is necessary to get through this stalemate, and so her delphox once again reverts back to the defensive.

Circe puts on a considerable distance, gripping tightly into her wand. Psychic power envelopes the vixen as she goes into FUTURE SIGHT.

It is a stalemate, for sure, but not that one that the Circhester heir willingly entered. Yet, he doesn't mind it. After all, why fix what's broken, right?

[break][break] The two moves crash into each other in a spark of light, silver smoke spreading out into the cold ocean air. When it parts, one would find Artie grinning, eyes bright with excitement from the match itself. It wasn't often that he found someone that could be par-on-par with him; traveling to Hoenn, as it turned out, had been worth it.

[break][break] As the Delphox once again returns to it's Future Sight attack, the 20-year old decides that he and Badar might as well follow. "Hail," he says, mimicking the other, feeling an odd sense of deja vu as the air kicks up again with hail and snow.

Wandering into the future is a bit tricky, more nauseous and disorienting. Selena has her fair shair of understanding the enigma of future sight—the benefit of being an avatar perhaps allowing her to be more capable of integrating herself with her pokemon. But where she exerts effort in understanding this ability, her delphox has already mastered.

“I've suspected you will use it again.”

The future sight, this time however, is not used as a defense mechanism. The vixen taps into the future to see the way their plans will be deemed possible. The creature lunges, every stride thoughtful of the outcome she's expecting. Arthur and sealeo will once again see her wand twinkling with the familiar yellow glow (SHOCK WAVE), but the creature doesn't let go of it yet until she reaches a considerable distance between the opponent.

Circe slides to the side and into its back, then stabs the sealeo with her electrified stick.

DELPHOX is hit by hail. It deals low damage.
DELPHOX uses SHOCK WAVE (future sight helping her to increase its accuracy).

She speaks, and it is the first time that either of them have spoken in a while, so Artie looks up with a bit of surprise. But at her words, he simply grins. "You're pretty smart, you know."

[break][break] To him, he doesn't care if his moves are predictable or simple. After all, there's no calling a match until it is already over with.

[break][break] The Delphox seems to already have planned her next attack, first descending into her Future Sight and then diving deep, sliding against the ice to deliver yet another electrical attack. "Don't you have any other tricks?" Artie sighs with a huff, before directing his pokemon to do the same as before. "Aurora Beam!"

[break][break] However, Artie can't see from where he is on the battle field. Another Aurora Beam will not work. His pokemon, however knows better. It's easier to see what's coming when it's right in front of you.

[break][break] This time, the Sealeo doesn't even bother to dodge. Instead, it's body glows with the power of a new attack and as the Delphox closes in on him with a Shockwave, the ocean roars to life. A giant tsunami crowns over the both of them, aiming to crash and bury both pokemon with a resounding slam on it's powerful descent.

Despite the onslaught of shock wave against the sealeo's flesh, it decides to aggravate the situation even further by sending a huge wave against both of them.

“Don't drown yourself!”

But her words won't be enough to get Circe out of this trouble. Water has already crashed towards the delphox, dampening the arena and the pokemons inside with seawater. It sweeps her away from the sealeo, the pain of which is etched on her features.

Selena knows Circe won't last any longer. Not with the longevity of this particular match. But with piercing gaze at her trainer's eyes, she knows the familiar insistence of seeing through the battle. She won't return Circe just yet.

She will help her see it through.

“Take the sealeo with you!”

Another familiar golden orb and the pinkette is sure the challenger is growing tired of the trick. But she would not careless if the attack is repetitive: as seen from the delphox's previous attempt, the more they take things for granted, the more unexpected it becomes.

SHOCK WAVE sets again on her staff, the vixen dashing towards her enemy. Should Arthur once again make his pokemon defend against it, he will come to realize that Circe doesn't come to target the sealeo but the puddles that have formed on the arena and connects them both in the same predicament.

What the hell -

[break][break] The prince's gaze is sharp as he zones in on his pokemon who is, not listening to him as he should be, but rather commanding a huge tsunami in front of him. It is a rare sight to see Artie so unhinged, so unlike his normal easygoing demeanor. His express his sharp, his eyes flashing with annoyance. "Badar - "

[break][break] But it is too late.

[break][break] The water crashes down on both pokemon in a huge wave, electricity crackling around both. It is a death sentence - Artie is sure of it. Badar too, but that had been his point all along.

[break][break] Electricity crackles through the water as it dissipates, and Artie finds himself unsurprised as the fainted form his Sealeo submerges from the water. The pokemon is rolled onto it's side, useless.

[break][break] The Circhester prince sighs, reaching into his pokeball and returns the pokemon. On his other side, his fingers twitch against his thigh, wondering if it would even be worth the effort to call a second.

Beside the challenger's sealeo, Selena's delphox emerges as the seawater breaks, fainted alongside its opponent. Soon, a flash of red light engulfs the pokemon, the pinkette recalling her vixen.

“The whole point of this challenge is intuition. Most of the time, it depends with your relationship with your pokemon and how you make use of it. Other times, it is just pure hunch.”

Her fingers fiddle into her pocket, another capsule is produced on her hand.

Medusa is released.

“You still have one more pokemon. It isn't time to give up.”

Selena summons MILOTIC.

“What? Are you already giving up?”

[break][break] His head jerked up, blinking, as they locked eyes with the pink-haired gym leader who stood, across the beach from him. The ice from the early match lay on the ground, glistening, as the sun rose higher in the sky and the risidual snowflakes whipped between them, casting her in shimmering light.

[break][break] There was a pause, and then a grin. "Of course not," he said loftily. "Where would the fun in that be?" He winked.

[break][break] Despite the flippant nature of his response, her words did indeed stay with him. Artie had never had the chance to challenge gyms when he had been on Galar, so this was a new experience all in itself. It was - how did the commoners put it - thrilling.

[break][break] Returning Badar to his pokeball, the blond reached to his side and grabbed the other sphere. The pokeball enlarged in his palm before he tossed it into the air, the light spilling into the warm sunlight as the large form of his Tropius appeared, her majestic weeks beating slowly, rhythmically in the air. Despite the colder than usual temperature, the grass-type did not seem bothered — though it still pained her, she and her family had spent several generations serving the royal family, training in the icy foothills of Circhester. A little cold beach breeze was nothing in the face of all of that.

[break][break] A light growth surrounded her as GROWTH went to effect as she floated above the Milotic that the Lilycove Gym Leader had released. Artie made a gesture at his own pokemon and introduced her, "This is Selene, my Tropius, my heart." His eyes twinkled. "You should have seen her as a baby. She was adorable."

[break][break] There was a dash of blush on the pokemon's cheeks as her trainer praised her. Really, Artie? Was this the time?
