He'd been in the area to see a Fossil Maniac over some business concerning a few of his own fossil pokemon. Adrian was trying to push some pokemon on him for quick cash, and although it hadn't gone over as well as he might've hoped, he wasn't going to let his time out here go to waste.

So naturally he kicked through the wildlands outside of the town on his way back home. Kicking through the grass unsettled the soot, returning color to the otherwise dull landscape. The further along he went, the less noticeable it became.

Alright, where are the pokemon?

The first thing he comes across is the dome head of a sandshrew, but particularly the Alolan variant. Really, here in Hoenn? Recalling last year's freak frostfall, he wonders how long this little guy might've been hiding out here living a life of discomfort.

He wanted to save him from that, but also because the poor guy was adorable to watching waddling through the soot grass. It almost looked like snow was falling now instead of soot, but the temperature spoke otherwise.

Adrian sends out a Combusken from a gacha he rolled recently, hoping to break in the pokemon with something easy. "Alright; Combusken, herd it around with your Double Kick."

It ended up looking more like Combusken was juggling it between its feet as soon as the sandshrew tucked itself into a ball defensively. Offering a few quick laughs, it stopped being funny when Combusken smashed it against a nearby rock.

Returning his Combusken and recovering the Sandshrew, he stalked up to it slowly, noticing it strive to crawl away as he got closer. Well at least it ain't dead. Poor little dude. A pokeball found itself to the Sandshrew, which struggled meekly before submitting to the contraption, or so it appeared...
