Happy battling! -Devin Waves slapped against the hull of the half-sunken ship. It was early morning, just before sunrise, and the wind had picked up. The sea air was filled with the exciting smells of rust and seaweed. The lopsided deck shifted underneath Zac, and he put his phone away. He stood on the prow of a battleship. The rusting hull sat half out of the water, prow resting on the rocky shoal that had been its undoing. There was ample room to fight both inside and outside of the battleship. Its once pristine rooms and corridors were now flooded, their walls corroded, their corners crawling with marine life. Around the wreck, the heads and hulls of dozens of smaller boats peeked above the water. Dozens of ruined boats had been washed out to sea after the battle of Slateport. They had drifted here, clustering around the ancient body of the battleship to form and impromptu ship graveyard. The drowned husks of the private boats and fishing vessels were tiny in comparison. Zac's Lanturn and Kabutops swam among the smaller wrecks, hunting with a combination of luring lights and flashing scythes. "What a great morning for a battle!" Wood panels groan beneath his feet when Angelo slips off the back of his Salamence and onto the crumbling form of a once proud ship, arched deck subtly shifting under the added weight. Unstable but stubbornly kept afloat by the rocks that pincered the vessel between jutting teeth of stone and crashing waves of sea spray; ironically held above the surface by the very thing that nearly sunk it.
