Adrian was poking around the slums of Slateport hoping to catch a break in his search for his mystery assailant. Something about the empty, winding roads soothed him as he coasted along.

It was just him, his thoughts and the ever-stretching strip of asphalt laid out before him. What wasn't to love about all that?

Was that a bat Adrian didn't get a good look as it flew overhead, but it made him thankful he didn't live in this part of Slateport. Continuing along on his drive, he flicks on the radio to keep him company. Unfortunately it's on commercial break.

Just my luck... Adrian wondered what Rowan was up to right about now, staring out into the night's expanse, at the concrete jungle brimming with flashing lights and the sounds of traffic. Life.

Pulling up at an intersection in the middle of a quiet neighborhood, Adrian could see a Heliolisk curled underneath a security light. Any time the light's sensory turned it off, it would trigger it with a casual flick of its tail. What a crafty devil...

As much as he admired its ingenuity, Adrian didn't want to be reprimanded for trespassing, so he revved his engine and continued up the road a ways hoping to find something more compelling.

He hit something, and a tired burst. FUCK.

Adrian veered off to the side of a road with a sudden halt, exiting his vehicle and finding a poor pinchurin there. Why the fuck was it even there, though? If it hadn't been in the middle of nowhere, it wouldn't have ended like this for the poor thing. Despite his vindication, he felt responsible.

Preparing a pokeball, he hoped to try and save the poor critter, though he honestly wouldn't be too bothered if it died en route. The dumb bastard had it coming, wandering into the middle of the road at night.

Guess I'd better call someone for a lift...
