Rapid Strike Urshifu (Unseen Fist): Detect | Ice Punch | Acrobatics | Poison Jab | Surging Strikes | Dynamic Punch

A Lickitung attempts to strike Trunks with its long tongue (POWER WHIP), but only serves in getting its tongue wrapped around the Urshifu's powerful fist. Unable to detach itself afterwards, the crazed pokemon struggles to pull itself backward as the bear slowly reels it in. Then, with one powerful tug, Trunks manages to yank the Lickitung forward into the air, before slamming it down (DYNAMIC PUNCH).

Remiel suppresses a snort at the sight of Gina's teasing glance, in the meantime. "I suppose you're right. On some level, anyway." He pulls an empty luxury ball out from his pack before tossing it towards the fainted Lickitung. His sharp eyes are quick to shift back to the woman after recovering it. "Do you get out often yourself?"

He didn't think the pokemon were getting too formidable just yet, but he refrained from mentioning that. The two had a different sense for 'formidable', that was it.

Satisfied with the response Gina would turn her attention towards the shifting of nearby bushes. She was expecting another formidable pokemon, but was let down. It had just been a inlay, pointlessly floating about, from Gina’s perspective it didn’t seem to be affected by the frequency of the artifact, strange. She decided to leave it be, not wanting to waste her slowkings energy for something she wasn’t interested in.
“No, I’m cooped up in my office most of the time”

“Is that the cave up there?” Gina’s eyes squinted as she made out a cave in the nearby distance, a strange noise could be heard coming from the cave.

Trunks engaged in sudden combat with a Medicham that had leapt out from a nearby tree. The two martial artists traded blows with expert precision, a flurry of counters, blocks, jabs, and kicks barely traceable by the human eye. In the end, however, the Urshifu's rapid-strike style overcame the Medicham's zen.

Using its signature technique, the SURGING STRIKES, Trunks beat the Medicham back and sent it crashing into the ground; unconscious. Remiel pulled out an empty luxury ball and made his way towards it as he responded to his companion. "Perhaps we should change that. Together. I grow tired of being buried in paperwork all day myself."

Just after he tossed the ball at the fallen Medicham, however, Remiel turned to regard Gina's discovery of a cave. He nods. "Let's make our way towards it."

A noctowl perched on a nearby tree would fly towards Gina and her slowking as they approached closer to the cave. It’s claw’s unsheathed they sunk into the slowking’s flesh resulting in a pained cry from the pokemon. Her head snapped towards the noctowl, she had been startled by it’s attack, as she didn’t see it coming at all. “Water pulse” The slowking complied, a blast of water slamming into the noctowl, the impact strong enough to knock it onto the ground.

With a sigh, she tossed a vacant pokeball towards it. She looked back to confirm that slowking’s injury was minor.

“I like doing paper work, though I wouldn’t mind getting out more.” She admitted to the ambassador, following him towards the cave she pointed out earlier. “Lets hope this goes smoothly.” She remarked to the man before she stepped inside the cave.

Before they could even begin to set off towards the direction of the cave, a Lillipup emerged from the forest to try and bite (CRUNCH) his Urshifu's ankle. The move hardly had any effect on the bipedal bear, however, and it calmly bent down to pick up the pup by the scruff of its neck instead. The puppy snarled.

Clearly effected by the frequencies drowning this mountainside forest, Remiel pulls out an empty luxury ball and gently taps it against the Lillipup's forehead. "Then we shall consider this outing the first of many, then." Remiel remarks, stuffing the ball into his pack afterwards. "I must say, it's lovely to meet another academic."

A Power beam is shot towards Slowking out of nowhere, Gina turns her head in the direction of where the attack had came from and spots out a grumpig also behaving bizarrely. The grumpig’s attack did a number on Gina’s slowking, and she swaps it out with a different pokemon, a wynaut. The Angry grumpig prepares another attack, shooting a power gem at the wynaut without any hesitation.
“counter” The wynaut prepares for the attack, expelling it back at the grumpig more powerfully.

The grumpig falls back, unconscious and Gina takes a chance - chucking another pokeball at it. As she waits to see if it’s caught or not, she glances back towards Remiel. She nods in agreement “I feel the same way, Mr. Calcifet.” A small smile creeps onto her features.

She also tucks away the pokeball, and leads the way into the cave. For the time being there didn’t seem to be any pokemon, but she was still on high alert for any threats.

Her smile, admittedly, causes the faint hint of a blush to grace his cheeks. But he's certainly not aware of it. And his expression, deadpan as ever, doesn't lend itself to the fact either. He does find the brief pause afterwards just a little odd, however. Though he clears his throat and carries on before long, moving forward to bend down and retrieve his own captured Pokémon. "Please— call me Remiel."

The frequency suddenly dies out, and the woods grow eerily silent. Remiel stops to acknowledge it with a curious scan of the area after he's straightened in posture with his luxury ball in hand. Meanwhile, his Urshifu calmly and cautiously returns to his side.

"Hmm... do you believe our mad professor ran out of power? Or perhaps they know we are coming?" He mused, referring, of course, to whichever mysterious character had activated this taboo technology. "I suppose we'll find out soon enough."

A small ledge of grey rocks bars them from getting any further up the hill towards the cave entrance. Stuffing the luxury ball into his pack, the royal rolls up his sleeves before climbing it with careful precision, whereas Trunks scales it with a single, powerful leap.

Ever the gentleman, Remiel turns and crouches down to lend Gina a hand in scaling it. "Up we go now," Though he wasn't sure he could do much for helping her Slowbro up.

notes: The frequency stops, and wild pokemon stop attacking for the time being. Remiel scales a ledge of rocks and offers Gina a hand up.

She tilts her head, and a slight smile graced her lips. “Remiel” She repeats softly, giving a subtle nod, heeding his request. Gina turns her head to observe the surroundings when the frequency comes to a sudden stop. “It would be fortunate if it had run out of power, making our work easier.”

“I’m not the best trainer you see, so I was troubled by all the attacking pokemon.” Gina admits chuckling, she nodded to his statement and continued walking, still on the alert for anything hostile - she didn’t want to be caught off guard twice.

“Oh?” Gina blinks, her cheeks flushing into a soft pink. She didn’t think Remiel would catch her off guard. She turns returning her slowking into her pokeball, before accepting the ambassadors hand. Pulling herself up with his aide.

“Thank you.”

Remiel nods in response, ensuring she's balanced on both feet and ready to move on before their hands part from each other. "Anytime."

Up ahead, Trunks the Urshifu sniffs around as he scouts the area. Then, with a gesture from his paw, he motions for the two humans to get moving as he leads the way. He's caught the trail of an interesting scent and, without the frequency buzzing in the air, he could focus his senses much more sharply. Perhaps, even, finish this thing before it started up again.

As the royal walks side-by-side with the historian, he regards an earlier statement she'd made. "You've never attended battle academy? I would have imagined someone as well-read and academically inclined as you might have." He remarks. Of course, battle academies were standard in Galar. "Are you from Hoenn?" He asks.

“I have been to battling school, just did poorly.” Every person had their own strengths and weaknesses, Gina’s was battling - she struggled with coming up with strategies and preferred to just stay out of combat unless it was needed. She also didn’t have much time to focus on it, choosing to focus on her degree. “Born in sootpolis” she responds back with a simple nod, wondering if she gave him the impression that she wasn’t from here.

Remiel knew of two world-renowned Hoennian battle academies. Though he couldn't be certain of Gina having attended either without asking. "Hm... Rustboro or Lilycove? I'm just curious." The former, after all, had established a very good standing with him after recruiting Alethea Ivanova to its faculty.

"Sootopolis is a lovely city. The 'city where history slumbers', if I recall the saying. It's no wonder you became a historian, Miss Gray." The royal adds, reaching back with one hand to pull a canteen from his pack. Having noted the trail getting steeper, he offers the container full of water to his companion. "Ah, but you only said 'born', isn't that right? Were you raised elsewhere in the region?" He sincerely inquiries.
