At first Razz was excited at the idea of possibly getting better control of his abilities. For the time being most of his stuff was small as he tried to work his way up. Though admittedly his practice did falter some when Fernando put it in his head the idea of learning things the wrong way and creating a skill ceiling for himself. It was what brought him here to the Gym Leader now though. Hoping to get some experience into this. He worried a bit at the type of training as he didn't want to hurt any pokemon but he was assured it would be fine. [break][break]

At the sight of the Heatran this was anything but fine though. Where was once a ranger who was nervous about hurting a pokemon, was now a ranger traumatized by fire pokemon terrified of the pokemon in front of him. He really was the wrong person to gain the power of god damn fire. His hands are shaking as he is unconsciously stepping back clearly terrified, from the stands not far where his new boss was at trying to cheer his trainer from afar as he's been forbidden from helping. For now razz is trying to keep his breathing calm as he keeps his hands slightly up. He's trying to focus but with the fire beast in front of him its hard. All he seems to be able to do is create small fire balls that explode almost the instant he makes them. No real power behind it.

His hands still shake as Razz tries to focus on slowing his breathing. Doing what he can to get over what was in front of him. At least the bastard didn't bring out a Pyroar for him to deal with. The young man wonders if he should bring up his issues with fire or try to deal with it. [break][break]

Razz tries to focus on Salem's supportive tone before Fernando speaks up. He does what he can to focus on that, think about what his superior wants so his own problems aren't something he has to put up with. "L-like there is a heat that wants to escape," there is a tremble in his voice. "My hands get warmer as they come out but...." but his mental block fears them getting hot. Fears a burn that'll never come. [break][break]

"And I guess I don't want them getting to big?" maybe its a fear that if it gets too big it'll be too destructive. There is that extra fear of the unknown as he doesn't know what this fire can or will do.

'Let it out he says,' Razz is grumbling in his head part of him wonders if that's what he does with his fairy mist which is why near every time he's seen the man. Though that's probably why he has as much control as he does. [break][break]

For a moment Razz pauses with the sparks that have been going off in his hands. Like he's turning off a faucet huh? He thinks a bit on the Minior he ended up striking and once more he's nervous. Though this was technically an order and following orders was absolute. For the most part. He takes a deep breath as Salem cheers once more, he could do this.... maybe. [break][break]

Razz brings his hands up and tries to do what he's told. Let go. [break][break]

With that in mind his hands create balls of fire as they go off. Small at first before they go off because he's subconsciously stopping them. Let go, he chants in his mind as his hands heat up. One after the other they're getting bigger and he's forced to brace himself as while he doesn't feel anything but warmth and pressure the explosions are getting bigger to where they're pushing him back. He's forced to close his eyes as he feels if he sees the fire he's making that the faucet will close shut. [break][break]

He lets out a determined roar as finally a much larger one is created between his arms. One probably bigger than he should be making it as it was about the size of a bowling ball before he attempts to launch it. What is set off is the largest he's ever set off before, the force is enough to send him propelling back despite how much he braced himself. What he set off ended up scorching most of the gym's floor, and while Flash Fire would prevent any fiery damage from Razz's attack, maybe the Heatran would be pushed back by the force of the explosion. God he hates this.

He feels done. While he can feel the fire still there and how it still wants to escape. His mind feels as the metaphorical faucet come to a complete halt with a wretch as the Ranger forced himself up to see the scorched floor. In panic he is quick to get up and move back and off the burnt floor. [break][break]

Razz's good eye looks up toward the Heatran who barley looks like anything happened to them. Too him it looked unimpressed, though he wonders what the CEO thinks. "Time to withstand? I find it hard to imagine not being moved by an explosion," admittedly he's a bit short with the other as he says this. He was just frustrated, "Sorry," he's quick to correct as he's staring down at his hands again. [break][break]

"I... I don't think I can do that again"

Too distracted by the very flames he's created Razz doesn't even notice Fernando come up next to him until he feels the other's hand on his shoulder making him jump. The younger man tried to keep himself composed in front of his new boss. However he doesn't feel like he's doing a very good job with how stiff he is and the way his arms are still shaking. [break][break]

"Really? Isn't your sister Stormy Silph the Moltres Avatar? I'm sure she can do plenty of fiery things," Razz quips back more with curiosity than anything else. For a brief moment he wonders if she would be a better teacher later on with the two of them being fire avatars. Though he has no clue what the other Silph can do. However if all Fernado can do is produce a mist how can he compare to making fire bombs? "Right... time..." though how much time will it take for him to actually fight through his issues. Though at the mention of weight training Razz finally looks over to the other with some confusion. "Weight lifting? Like for muscle building?"

It takes a moment to tick in his head as the other took even a second to explain, "Oh, sorry! I... ahh communication isn't my strong point and I tend to miss things," he admits hating more that he is making himself look like more of a fool in front of his new boss. He tenses up some when Fernando mentions believing in him. Honestly he's happy to hear it, but now all he feels is like he's failing the other more.[break][break]

He looks down at his shaking hands to see if he could give a spark once more, though his mental block was still holding strong as nothing came out. "So its just a matter of repeating right? I... I don't think I can do more though.. sorry," he's quick to add the apology. Some investment he's turn out to be.

Once again he tenses up as the other pats him on the back. Why does he feel like he's going to have to get used to that? Either way it does it's job in distracting Razz from his thoughts. So he focuses on the idea of repeating, he still dreads it but if its to get better with this then he supposes he doesn't have much choice. If he has the power then he should learn to use it properly. [break][break]

"Over a year huh?" why does he feel like he doesn't have that same amount of time to master these new abilities? He looks up when Heatran is called back into their pokeball. Instantly it feels like a weight was removed from his shoulders not having to see that thing again. He recalls when he basically panicked when he and his group encounter it during their exploration and even now he didn't have a good reaction to it. [break][break]

'Tell him,' Razz thinks to himself feeling that the other should know about his weakness. Let him take into account about this mental block especially with fire. Though with how much he doesn't want to disappoint the other he finds himself unable to. The ranger just stands up straight and nods, "T-that sounds good sir, I'll be sure to do so, thank you for your time," he finds himself saying rather than admitting to the problem he knows his pyrophobia will eventually cause.
