If Tempest Quinn is expecting Kohen to resist, he's going to be disappointed. The redhead practically melts against his side as their arms link. His head rests comfortably on the man's muscular shoulder. Lips spread into a coy smile, and he purrs.

He's led to where he wants to go. So there's no reason to stop their little game. "I can think of one." flirtatious, words drenched in honey, he squeezes Temp's arm.

All hell breaks loose once they reach the tree. Energy oozes out from polished bark in a frantic swirl of light. Sinking deep into the ground, Infinity Energy stirs the dead from their slumber. The departed rise up from the ground in a scene ripped straight from a horror movie. They tear apart grass and stone so they might breathe fresh air once more.

Like bass at a rave, Kohen's aloofness drops. One swift motion unlinks his arms from his escort. Fingers snap, and the Charmeleon that's been following them lunges forward. He blocks Primeape's Karate Chop with a Slash. Undead flesh rips apart at the wrist, severing the ape's rotting hand from its arm.

Red light flashes. A second Pokemon releases from an intricately designed Poke Ball. Bad Trip's multi-colored body of sludge consumes Primeape's decaying corpse with a Crunch. There's no escape from the mound of toxic waste. Primeape is broken down into sludge and assimilated into Alolan Grimer.

Bad Trip burps.

"Saved your life sexy." Kohen winks at Temp, "I'll be back later to collect my reward." he blows a kiss and bolts.

[attr="class","hanatext"]Though Eva Morales makes a promise that she may not be able to keep, Lilith is more than reassured of her own safety, especially when considering the Mimikyu that lies dormant in his pokeball. Wolves are nothing compared to the storms and mountains they've braved, just another creature that daringly poses as a threat. So it comes as no surprise that they're able to slip by the ravenous canids with relative ease - Avoidance is met with avoidance itself, the predators soon realising that the invaders aren't here to interrupt their meals.

As they move towards the tree, Lilith swears that she can taste the absolute awe that radiates off the researchers, infectious and somewhat befitting of researchers who crave to seek the truths that this world has to offer. "Had your fill?" Lifting Rubia up above the group, her question is quickly answered by a cheerful bleat from the Wooloo, the squirming of her little feet signalling a wish to be placed on the ground. "Keep close." With one final warning, Lilith readily obliges to the request, cautious in ensuring the little ovine doesn't trip in her excitement before sneaking a glimpse of the tree herself.

Only gods can create miracles like these - It echoes in her ear, a whisper of the past sending chills up her spine as she subconsciously notes the absolute silence. A beautiful tree filled with life surrounded by halls of the dead... Artistic as it may seem, something about this sight makes her wish to gain distance from it all, serpents seeming to writhe and gnaw at her chest as she draws a pokeball from her pockets.

And so the show begins, the curtains ripped without the slightest hint of warning as the stage erupts with the lines of the first act. It all happens before she can even begin to make heads or tails of the situation, a strange-looking Electivire suddenly emerging from the grounds and aggressing on them with the rattling of its bones. Almost as if sensing the spike in Lilith's emotions, a Mimikyu breaks free from the pokeball with a haunting cackle and lunges straight towards the Electivire, shadowy claws emerging from underneath the veil as he attempts to Play Rough with the enemy.

A screech from the sky signals the return of Kin, the girl instinctively raising an arm to allow the Corviquire a place to perch. He crows twice with intent, his wings pointed just off the direction of the tree. Then, he shows her a Scary Face, flexing his talons and swaying as if mimicking the movements of a monster.

"There's two up ahead, closer to the tree than we are. And they've encountered a creature like this one."

Tl;dr - Hex (Mimikyu) uses Play Rough on the Z!Electivire
Kin (Corvisquire) has spotted out Tempest Quinn and @oakly, informing the group that they have encountered another zombie as well

there's a proud smirk when priam finds himself catching Eva Morales when she stumbles on him, painting himself as this strong, stable pillar of the group in his head. "gotchu, boss," he confidently mentions. this doesn't last long, however, as panic from the supernatural freaks him out soon after.

he winces when the strike of lightning clashes with the gallade's protect. he hears his braviary caw in surprise, visibly ready to lash out. priam knows he needs to give his shadow pokemon some outlet, or he'll find one of his own.

"wait, i know science!" he proudly tells Eva Morales. "corpses are weak to fire! heat wave, bravie!"

the flying-type starts to flap its wings very hard, releasing a heat wave to the direction of the zombie electivire. it starts to slow down dramatically as heat speeds up the process of decomposition, though it comes with a side effect of spreading the smell of decay.

he's not too bothered, having been conditioned to work with it before, though he's more bothered with what lilith eirwin discovered. he wonders if rocket has fulfilled its task yet, and if they were also disturbed by the zombie attack.

"Uhh sylvie? you ok there?" he said as suddenly the tunnel began to glow with energy and then stopped as it it had achieved some unknown goal. "Was that the tree?" he asked as if sylveon could answer. Then felt the tunnel shaking and a sandslash appeared behind him in their tunnel. "SYLVIE GET US OUT OF HERE, UP" [break][break]

he orders as he secures his mask upon his face. The sylveon digs upwards as the ground around the trainers shakes and bryan and his pokemon bust out from underneath, chased by the half dead pokemon. [break][break]

He lands away from the others, staring down Eva Morales and priam conrad . This would have been an opportune moment to strike but his priority was elsewhere. "Sylveon! Hyper voice!" he orders as the sylveon took a deep breath and fired out a loud screech as pink energy erupted from it's body towards the sandslash. It stumbled backwards. He kept an eye on the league as surely Dr. Eva would expose him to the other leaguers as her mystery assailant.

Zombies are everywhere, but Kohen doesn't care. He's far too focused on his goal now to stop and deal with them. It's a little harsh, he knows. But everyone can handle themselves. They don't need lil old him stepping in to save their bacon.

He's vaulting over gravestones and waving at walking corpses as he passes them. The whole thing is a feat of athleticism that takes him by surprise.

Kohen's full speed carries him to the party happening at the tree in no time at all. What a party it is. You've got the pretty girls in Eva Morales and lilith eirwin next to cute boys like priam conrad and bryan delarosa. There was even a shitty DJ (probably trying to peddle mixtapes) in the form of an undead Electivire.

All they needed now were some fireworks.

He drops a Poke Ball from his waist and towards his feet. Treating it like a soccer ball, Kohen kicks it into the chaos. His flawless aim sees it land at the center of all the fighting. The top of the ball pops open, and blue energy releases...another Poke Ball.

Wait. That can't be, right? Can it?

"Yo! P.Baller, hit em with the good stuff."

[break][break]

The Voltorb beeps in reply.

Kohen sheds a tear and salutes it proudly from a safe distance away.

P.Baller glows, its face straining before a powerful Explosion decimates the area. Gravestones are destroyed, the ground leveled, and living corpses are reduced to a gory mess. Everyone else? Well, Kohen will have to wait for the dust to settle to find out.

Zombies were not something that she had been prepared for. Perhaps she should have, given the nightmares she had had since Darkrai had pervaded her dreams perhaps a year or more ago. [break][break]

But with the eerie howl of her wolves comes the creaking, fleshy, ooey-gooey sound of something dead coming back to life. Emma's attention snaps ahead to the glowing tree and the energy it seems to pour. It is unnatural, surely, and yet she stands in awe.[break][break]

The unexpected came to bite her in the ass, however. Almost literally.[break][break]

Pain lances up her leg as something with razor-sharp teeth bites hard into her ankle. She cries out, faltering before lashing out with might have been a knife. It cuts like butter on the down-swing, sinking into the Pokemon's eyesocket and getting lost as she pulls her hand back. But the biting stops and warmth pools in her shoe as blood leaks down her leg. It stains her pants darker immediately, and she proceeds with a limp.[break][break]

Unfortunately, that window of panic she had felt, of confusion and bewilderment at the turn of events, she is almost too late to intercept the explosion. Emma's attention lands on their uninvited friend and his Voltorb. Lips part as it beings to glow, trembling with uninhibited power. [break][break]

"Fuck!"[break][break]

Emma, despite the pain in her leg, lunges for Tempest Quinn. She puts herself between him and the blast, though ultimately she would be too close. The explosion takes out nearly all of the zombies as they had begun to spring forth from the earth, but it had also succeeded in downing Emma.[break][break]

The wolves howl turns to snarls of rage and confusion at the sudden loss of their trainer. But, without direction, they still manage to come up with some form of plan. Therein being, standing overtop of Emma's body with possessive intent, disallowing any, friend or foe, from touching her. [break][break]

She remains unconscious and unresponsive and the wolves do an excellent job in making it seem like she might be their next meal. Fortunately, the wolves work in everyone else's favor as well by fending off any remaining zombies should they get too close to Emma.[break][break]

the chaos of the undead pokemon coming back to life was enough to mask @kohen's electrode from being noticed by priam. when the explosion comes, the rocket is ill-prepared to defend himself against it.

"shit."

an all-to-familiar white glow fills the area as the blast throws off everything from the epicenter. shards of stones from the grave fires off at different directions.

cuts and bruises get to priam as the braviary continues its rampage, getting more agitated from the explosion. the shiinotic wasn't tall enough to be used as a meat shield unfortunately, although the pollen puff does help alleviate the pain a bit.

"the tree!"

without regard to his injuries, priam guns for the tree. the objective was to take it without utterly destroying it. checking if the objective was still something they can achieve was the first thing that ran in his mind.

on the background, his braviary keeps on using heat wave.

priam now has torn clothes like on those gacha games when they get hurt bc he got hit directly by explosion
shiinotic uses pollen puff to numb the pain like a narcotic
priam goes for the tree bc he thinks it got destroyed

A whole lot of shit happens because Temp's writer wasn't paying as much attention as they should have been.

It ends with Temp confused, half exploded, sitting on the ground with his back against a half broken gravestone. He's sore, bruised, and maybe just a little pissed off. He doesn't have too much time to ruminate on it, as the snarling face of a Houndoom is in his space. He reacts quick, a hand on it's throat, the zombie pokemon leaking rot and black goop from it's half smashed in head and from it's maw. Those teeth still look plenty sharp, though, and it's only by his own strength he can hold it off.

His hand finds one of the larger chunks of gravestone, which he grabs and quickly smashes into the soft spot on the zombie pokemon's skull. It's not enough to kill it but it does drive it away- at least enough for the Chandelure who had been hiding under his feet to come out. It takes a cue from priam conrad's Braviary, an Inferno streaming flame from her mouth to turn the zombiefied dog to ash.

Temp forces himself to his feet, panting, and clips his other two pokeballs from his pocket. A Medicham and a Girafarig burst from the balls.

"Tch. Just wanted a damned selfie." He glanced at Emma Wolfe almost sadly, knowing he can't get close for the wolves. He isn't that dumb. "Alright team! Beat the fuck out of these slimy shits!" The rock is dropped, a pair of knuckle dusters pulled from his pocket and slipped on his hands. Cause Temp wasn't stupid enough to mess with wolves but he was stupid enough to try and punch zombies in the face.

Powerful hind kicks from his Girafarig as well as elemental punches help him fight his way over to the main ground, confusion plain on his face.

"What the fuck happened?" Is spat out, he can't help it, as this was just all a lot and he was tired.

- Oh look I replied
- Was knocked down by the blast, is all sore and bruised up but Emma managed to save him for the most part.
- Uses a piece of gravestone to bash a zombie Houndoom's head in (Use the gravestones and mist in creative ways for combat.)
- Calls out his pokemon to help him make his way back over to the larger body of the group
- Is very distressed

Everything around the electrode like Bryan and his sylveon were thrown from the explosion. Luckily enough though, the Sandslash that was right before him. Luckily it took the brunt of the hit but wasn't able to survive it as it's body parts flew apart. [break][break]
However the blast also revealed something else, one of the nearby gravestones seemingly held treasure for bryan. A shard of sorts? hey this matched the other shards he had. [break][break]

Bryan looked towards Priam and the tree he clenched his fist as this fucker put it at risk. Time for a fucking fight now "Harm the tree? Now I fucking harm you. Fuckin bastard!" he shouted as his anger flared, Emma was knocked out as well so no one to really stop him from going ham.[break][break]

The shards of the mega audinite began to grow hot and seemingly joined together kind of like magnets. What the fuck? Bryan's old and scratched pokeball holding audino also matched the stone, calling to it as if begging to be released. [break][break]

Bryan obliged the stone's demands and released his audino who looked to the stone eagerly, seemingly understanding it had some sort of bond with it. Bryan's earring where his keystone resided also was pretty warm. Did it want to release it's power that badly? What was causing so much energy to swell around it? [break][break]
Fuck it this was not the time to be asking questions, bryan pressed on his keystone and audino began to shine and change forms. She was beautiful, and according to bryan's pokedex, also a fairy type now. Of course she was. Well whatever! Dwell on that shit later god damn it! "Audi! Hyper voice that ass hat!" he shouted as fae energy swirled around audino and into it's vocal chords before firing a blast of audio at kohen

Eva found herself being held upright by Priam’s arms, “Woo! Thanks, Pry!” she sighs as find her footing well enough again to stand on her own, “Quick thinkin’ with the Heat Wave!” she praises as the burning air whipped wildly from his Braviary’s wings.

What would a good Excursion be without some good, old fashioned, idiotic chaos?

Eva’s eyes grew wide at the sight of the beeping Voltorb. It all seemed to happen in slow motion, “GET BACK!” she screamed, pushing whoever she could out of the way of the impending blast. There were just too many people and pokemon to clear from the area. After Blade’s attempt at another PROTECT fails, he instead wraps Eva in his arms and as the flash of the EXPLOSION lights up the foggy night, the duo disappear in the flash of a TELEPORT.

Blade and Eva wind up back further down the path, “Blade, what the fuck?!” she staggers away from the Gallde who seems unphased by her criticism. His purpose was to protect, and Eva’s well-being always came before that of others. After all, she couldn’t heal if she wasn’t here to do it. Eva started sprinting back towards the chaos as deceased pokemon continued to literally jump out of the ground around her. This was starting to get ridiculous.

Meanwhile, the Gardevoir did what it could in the epicenter of the chaos, using PSYCHIC to pushed was debris it could away from striking the people surrounding it. bryan delarosa’s harsh words and sudden spike in anger drew her attention. His command to have a pokemon attack @oakly was where Adele drew a line. A burst of PSYCHIC energy reached out for the boy and attempted to pull him away from the eruption of sound energy.

“YOU!” the Doctor’s voice growls, a fiery glare fixated on bryan delarosa. She recognized him from the last times she ran into one of these trees. There’s was no reason to ask him what he was doing here: it was very clear it was for the tree, “Picking on innocent civilians again?” she mocked, taking a defiant stance across from him and his Mega Audino. The Gallade and Gardevoir moved to her side.

tl;dr Eva’s like “Good work, priam conrad!” then is like “Wtf” with the Explosion. Blade TELEPORTS her away, much to her chagrin. Gardevoir attempts to yank @oakly out of the way of the Hyper Voice with PSYCHIC. Eva recognizes bryan delarosa and is all like “YOU! Grrrr”

Though the field seems to descend into madness faster than she can possibly say 'fuck', Lilith finds herself unshaken by the sheer chaos, readily adjusting to the sudden rush of conflicting stimuli with a sharp inhale.

"Mars!" With people and corpses busting out of the ground to Voltorbs exploding around the tree, her first instinct is to recall all her Pokemon, tossing up a new pokeball as the Swampert heeds her call. In seconds, a barrier surrounds the duo to Protect as the heat and shockwave of the Explosion rushes towards them. While they narrowly avoid injuries, it seems that the others aren't quite as lucky, a brief flash of concern trickling through her veins as she realises that Eva Morales is nowhere to be found.

Regardless, this is no place for her to simply linger and pray, a hand tapping the Swampert's shoulder as she beckons it to follow quickly. Her job here is to collect biosamples of the tree, not mess around with zombies or tango with whatever enemy forces decide to interfere. Thankfully, they aren't too far from the tree, relief flooding her being as she realises the explosion hasn't quite manage to rip into its bark just yet. There are perhaps a few char marks and new scratches formed but other than that, the tree just seems to glow with an unnatural life, beckoning for her to step closer.

So she does, quick instructions given to Mars to keep a lookout whilst her hands gently trace the bark for any deep cuts - Anything less than 2 inches won't work, experience nags her in the back of her mind. And perhaps, the explosion is a sort of blessing in disguise, pieces of grave shrapnel lodged into the tree meaning many spots to work with.

Settling down before one of them, Lilith carefully pries the shrapnel out, tapping the tree as she attaches several vials to collect the sap. While that's left to sit, she readily peeling away bits of broken bark from yet another shrapnel site and collecting the soil around the tree's roots, sealing a few samples in small packets each before keeping them into her pouch.

There is a chance of contamination, she sighs but there isn't really time to be finicky about the condition of her workspace. Just think of this as any regular sample collection... but with explosives and zombies.

Tl;dr - Lilith swaps out Hex (Mimikyu), Kin (Corvisquire) and Rubia (Wooloo) for Mars (Swampert)
Mars uses PROTECT against Voltorb's EXPLOSION
Lilith makes her way over to the tree to start procuring biosamples - Objective achieved: lilith eirwin's background as a botanist must come in use when procuring a proper biosample from the tree.
Mars keeps a lookout for any threats

Kohen wiped the tear from his cheek, returned the fainted Voltorb, and got ready to move. That had been the plan anyway. bryan delarosa had something else in mind. Furious, the sexy man with the raven locks instructed his Audino to attack.

Oof. DnD wouldn't be fast enough to block the Hyper Voice. Thank Arceus, there were kind souls like Eva Dumont around to keep him safe.

"Woah!" he exclaimed as her Gardevoir yanked him out of the way. And to think, he'd almost blown her to bits!

Kohen steadies himself as the Gardevoir releases her grip. A brief glance at her trainer comes with a smile. Although, he doesn't say anything. She's a bit preoccupied yelling at the man who'd just attacked him. Speaking of, Kohen ignores him altogether. He's never been one to hold a grudge, and he's delayed collecting some of the tree's wood long enough.

A leisurely jog carries him past all the chaos and to the tree. "Finally," he sighs, tapping Charmeleon on its shoulder. "You know what to do, buddy." he releases his fourth Pokemon, a Porygon named Cyberchase.

It beeps and clicks, presenting its back for Charmeleon to ride. Like a knight from the tabletop game in which he's named form, DnD mounts Porygon. The man-made creature lifts him up to the nearest tree branch.

Somewhere out there, mother nature cries as Charmeleon commits a heinous crime against her. His sharp claws Slash into tree bark as tough as hide. It's difficult, but relentless cuts sever branch from tree.

"Hell, yeah!" Kohen's quick to retrieve the branch before anyone else. It's a big piece of timber too big to fit inside his backpack completely. The top half sticks out from the bag, rising a few inches above his head.

With that out of the way, maybe he'll actually try and be helpful. "I wonder if that blonde needs any help..."

Audino also cutely yelled it's own name back at the pair as if validating Bryan's reasoning for attacking, well that and the tree was in danger. Wow so those two immediately ran over to the tree huh? Very well then if they want to ignore him then they're gonna have to suffer the consequences. [break][break]

He was vastly outnumbered and couldn't afford to hold back in this battle. Wait, but maybe using the tree he could cause more chaos? yes more chaos was always the answer. He had to create distractions to get Emma Wolfe out of there. "Audino, get them off of the tree and heal pulse it!" he shouts. [break][break]

Audino's new found strength and agility in it's mega form is immediately obvious and it leaps towards the tree at lilith eirwin priam conrad @oakly and uses psychic to try to fling people away from the tree. Notably Priam's psychic is much weaker allowing him to possibly grab onto the tree and hold on. Audino then gathered both of it's hand as energy crackled in both and shouted a "clear!" kind of version of it's name as it slammed down on the tree. [break][break]

The tree gobbled the energy down and the ground began to shake again as some more zombie pokemon seemingly rose from the graves around them. Zoroark who's illusions made it seem like it was being recalled actually made it's way over to Emma Wolfe , the wolfs circling her body react at first but seeing that it's a friendly zoroark allow it to take her slowly but surely. Everyone none the wiser as he just appeared as a cloud of fog at the moment.

he whistles for his braviary's attention, where it swoops down for its trainer. the shiinotic grabs onto priam's leg as priam grabs on the braviary's talons and rides the flying-type that way, pointing to the direction of the tree and ignoring everyone else.

he wants to deal with @kohen and he wants to back up bryan delarosa's point to Eva Morales, but he knows he has to keep up with the job description and accompanies lilith eirwin on the tree as she procures samples.

"you really just went straight to here instead of helping, huh?" priam remarks to lilith eirwin, forcing a smile as he makes a light-hearted joke.

pain starts to return as the effects of pollen puff dissipates. sharp cuts and bruises from the explosion start to ache as priam wipes off blood from his head and smears it off on his shirt. the moment he gets his hand free, he feels a tug coming.

"shit!"

he quickly grabs on a part of the tree out of reflex and manages to stay. the shiinotic with him gets thrown together with lilith eirwin, but the braviary manages to stay with priam.

without the eyes of the league on him for a few moments, priam's quick thinking makes him seize the moment and procure a sample of blue mulch, tucking it in along with several vials of sap from lilith in his person for safekeeping.

other vials were broken, but some remain in tact. priam doesn't take everything, and saves some of them for the league because he's merciful like that.

"you guys alright?" he calls for lilith eirwin and his shiinotic from afar as soon as he got his cut of biosamples from the tree.

priam hangs by the tree and prevents himself from being thrown away
shiinotic remained with lilith
priam takes blue mulch and other biosamples

[attr="class","hanatext"]Despite her initial thoughts of letting the League personnel fight things out while she handled her task, there is a hint of surprise that accompanies her words as she spares a sidewards glance towards priam conrad.

"Not suited for combat. Hex would just lash out at anyone possible and that hinders us more than these monsters." As much as she wishes to humour the child-man with a joking response, Lilith isn't quite one to turn to humour in times of stress. Instead, she's keeping a steady hand on the sap vials, her gaze partially wandering over his bruised and battered body as she briefly considers what she can actually contribute to an all-out brawl.

But before she can finish her thoughts, she feels the tug of an unexplainable force sharply yanking her away from the tree, her mind flaring with warning signs as she braces for impact. And it's a harsh tumble and roll against the rocky terrain, the shattering of fragile glass reaching her ears as she cusses right under her breath.

"Thea, help." She calls, a Kirlia quickly appearing by her side and taking hold of her sleeve before Teleporting them back to the tree. Strangely enough, Priam seemed to have avoided the brunt of the attack, having hung on before he'd been tossed far away.

"Probably doing better than you are." Answering Priam's question with an attempted joke of her own, Lilith motions for the Kirlia to move over to him as she turns her attention back to the samples - Some are broken, some seemed to have disappeared with the winds whilst a fortunate few have survived through the sudden force. The state of these vials raises an alarming possibility in her mind, but she abandons those theories in favour of working to recover whatever's left.

On the other hand, Thea is hovering over priam conrad with an excessive concern, her brows creasing ever so slightly as she reaches out to his wounds, her hands glowing as she uses Heal Pulse to treat them. With the last of the biosamples collected, Lilith gets to her feet and whistles for Mars, pointing him in the rough direction of their next target and sending him off.

"Try not to aggravate your wounds. I'll leave Thea to help you till you're good to go. Meanwhile, I'm going to check if that bomber is alive or something."

Tl;dr -
Lilith is thrown away from the tree but makes her way back with Thea's (Kirlia's) TELEPORT
She suspects that priam conrad may have something to do with some of the missing vials but doesn't mention it
Thea uses HEAL PULSE on priam conrad's wounds
