I had an appointment with zenji jabami the other day for an in-depth physical. They found an alarming discovery based off how the human body reacts to being an avatar. We're not sure if it's due usage or long term exposure.

You should schedule an examination when available. If you do not wish to have the League conduct the examination then we can have our internal team proctor the exam. Let me know how you would like to proceed.

that's worrying, sir. and also a bit vague? taking your wording into consideration, i'm going to assume that this may not be entirely optional. there's a reason why i'm not comfortable with consenting to a visit. is there anything i could do to possibly avoid an examination? i've suffered from nothing particularly alarming as of late. aside from the occasional migraine, i feel fine.

Thank you for your concerns. I am alright for the time being. We hope it’s nothing serious but our information is inconclusive.

I understand your concerns, Kingsman. What I can do for you is that Silph Co. will conduct your examination. This may lead to whichever health professional and scientist that take part being able to infer your status but they are under strict NDA.

I’ll make sure they’re people I trust. Unless they’re willing to risk their job then everything should be fine. We will see see how much of your information we can scrub from any samples taken before collaborating with zenji jabami. As Head Scientist, it is more likely than not that information will be under League jurisdiction.

When we’re finish removing your RNA and such, I’ll reach out. With your consent, we’ll move forward with giving the League access. Otherwise, this will be between you and our health services here at Silph Co.

For context, I am perfectly fine on the surface. I feel better than ever. However, further examination has found what we believe to be a phenomenon similar to cancer.

I’ll simplify this skip the scientific jargon; Bailey Cooper is dead. At this time, we presume her death to be in part from radiation from Groudon. Trace remnants of this energy have been found in several other avatars, myself included. Until further notice, we are concerned with this being a side effect of avatarship.

Feel free to do as you see fit. I trust your judgement. If you are open to discussion though, why do you want to avoid an examination?

I hope things go well, but what evidence is there that this is avatar related? Besides that I've only had this power for a few weeks is it even needed if the probable cause is long exposure?

Sorry for asking, just nervous I suppose...

If it's required I may consider doing that, however as it is I've been needing to see zenji jabami for an appointment of an unrelated issue. Would it be possible at all to just set an NDA with him? Avoid a middle man? Or would his position require the League to know my stats?

i'd rather not elaborate through e-mail, sir. it's something of a private nature that i'll eventually share in the near or distant future. my fiancée is aware of the issue and i've instructed him to alert silph company if it proves necessary.

but i will take your warning very seriously and document my health charts. i'll visit a doctor for a basic check up, schedule an MRI, blood test and visit a fertility clinic. if anything alarming pops up i'll inform you directly.

as for the 'radiation' you mentioned... could it be possible that - if death does occur - that it's merely a potential side-effect to tethering ones self with a legendary? if memory serves, i've been an avatar longer than both you and Bailey Cooper . surely i'd be dead by now - or at least show obvious signs of illness.

but my concerns extend beyond the obvious negatives that could result in a sudden death. i'm aware that a bond enhances our abilities beyond that of a normal humans - but i'm genuinely concerned that it may potentially extend or shorten someone's lifespan as well. the gods are powerful, after all - and they've changed and manipulated our bodies to share their power with us.

the commissioner's question was indeed a good one. 'what are we?'

This phenomenon has been found exclusively in avatars. Multiple avatars have been affected.

There is a chance you may already have it or will start showing signs. The earlier we catch it the better. In the event that you do not, we can extrapolate what a fresh avatar looks like and compare it your results in the future. Ideally, if there’s an underlying trigger, we can catch that as well.

This is optional but highly advised.

Zenji works for the League. The chance we can set up an agreement where he does not share that information with the League is highly unlikely. In the event he refuses, there is also the chance he will be required to report the inquiry to the League, alerting them as well.

At this time, we do not know, hence the request for an examination. Most avatars, for reasons I cannot understand, have refused for one reason or another. Our sample size is too small to extract any meaningful conclusions.

Bailey’s usage of her avatar powers usurp yours and mine. With no disrespect, I believe my own usage exceeds yours as well. Our initial assumption at this time is that the more accustomed the body becomes with handling extensive exertions of these powers the more likely the infection.

As well meaning as concerns are, without action, they are nothing more than thoughts and prayers.
