His legs stop as they round the corner to his apartment. In comparison to his home in Lavaridge, the building is humble. Small, only two stories tall, with an orange door in need of a fresh coat of paint.

This, along with the reminder of Ho-oh, leave Stormy nearly out of breath. Her heart is beating louder in her chest and she can feel Moltres' apprehension combining with her own. [break][break]

Stormy wrinkles her nose at his assumption of her up-bringing and therefore assumption in her appreciation of his quote unquote 'not as fancy' place.[break][break]

And yet she steps through anyway, despite that prickling of dread she feels at the back of her neck.[break][break]

The apartment's furnishing is quaint. A large but not too big as to be considered obscene TV sits on top of a single-shelf entertainment center. In front of it, a brown couch and two matching recliners surround a coffee table with a used ashtray a top of it.

No one knows about this place, not even Alexandra Briarwood. He'd 'purchased' it shortly after arriving in Hoenn to find her. When they reconciled, Killian had kept it as a safe house on the off chance things went sour.

He throws his keys onto the table and heads into the kitchen. Killian returns a few seconds with two unopened cans of Charja-Cola. One is sat on the table for Stormy, the other he keeps for himself.

All that statement did was drive home just how fucked up the region had become, that nowhere was safe anymore. She sighs, dropping the subject up until the moment they both step into his home. [break][break]

The door shuts behind her and she waits, at first, by the door. She is awkward and uncomfortable, scanning the room cautiously, taking her time to absorb details. But there is nothing blatantly concerning regarding the living room, nothing out of the ordinary. [break][break]

She can smell stale smoke but outside of that it almost seems as though the house is hardly lived in.[break][break]

Killian encourages her to make herself at home and only then does she eventually move deeper into his home, stiff-legged and stubborn. She doesn't choose to sit, nor does she reach for the unopened can he'd set on the coffee table for her.[break][break]

She sighs, exasperated. Whoever this guy was, 'Dominick' or whatever- she's sure that isn't his real name- he sure seemed to have eyes and ears everywhere. He said he wasn't a participant in the war against the aliens, and yet he apparently knew exactly who had.[break][break]

And she does open her mouth to object, to avoid the question or give him a false answer. He cuts her off, berating her with even more information that she has no idea how he could possibly have.[break][break]

"What, you think you're going to get your hands on a Pokemon from outer space? That's funny."[break][break]

The details she had of that Pokemon were foggy at best, blurred by war and blood and fear. She narrows her eyes, thinking and judging.[break][break]

"I really don't know any more than anyone else who was there. Whatever the reports have on that Pokemon is all I know. It came from a rock, or something, or it came from space. It killed some shit, and then it left. Whatever it is- I think some scientists might have called it 'Deoxys', it's bad news, I'm sure."[break][break]

A simple word that's spoken with an intense desire which upsells its importance. Killian does want out, out of Hoenn. Away from the chaos that it brought to his life. If he could crank the clock back a year or two to when things were better, he would.

"Bad news? Why, because it killed? Perhaps it didn't think it had a choice. Imagine how you'd feel if you suddenly woke up on a foreign planet."

Wonderful, yet another desperate human being seeking the power of the Gods in an attempt to chase what she could only assume was something selfish. She shouldn't be surprised, but the disgruntled expression on her face indicates otherwise.[break][break]

She isn't convinced, though the conviction in his delivery catches her attention. [break][break]

At least, she thought that that was what had happened. The details were fuzzy, a side effect of the trauma of war. But she as at least mostly sure that the Deoxys had attacked the Megalopolans and any casualties of war. And then it had left as quickly as it had arrived.[break][break]

Killian tilts forward with wide eyes and dilated pupils. His hands tighten around aluminum as he wets his lips. [break][break]

The living he could understand, they were potential threats. But corpses? There had to be a reason for such strange behavior. Something Deoxys had hoped to gain from assaulting corpses. [break][break]

Invaders from another world opposite their own. If only he hadn't been in Johto when they attacked. A chance to speak with someone from a dimension beyond one's own was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. Maybe he'd get lucky, and they'd reappear. [break][break]

"I thought Deoxys came from outer space, not Megalopolis? Or are you implying their presence here attracted it to Earth?"
