Killian wasn't ready for what the horses had in store for them today. One moment everything seemed alright, and the next, he was taking hooves to the chest.

"Arceus, these things are so -" the sight of his corpse below sealed his lips. "Did we just die?" he didn't feel dead, but there his body was limp on the ground. Killian glanced over to Lex to see that she'd met a similar fate.

He frowned. "Murdered by horses, this isn't how I saw us going out." killed by Kaito or a pissed-off client, maybe, but not this. He spun around to face the horses. The dots connected when he saw the reins in their mouths. "They must be testing us." for the fifth time and final time.

Killian accepted the challenge. He threw his legs over the right horse and grabbed hold of its reins. Once Lex had done the same, they took off down the mountain.

What. The. Actual. Fuck. Just happened.

Lex was staring wide eyed down at her own limp body beside Killian’s, “I . . . Don’t think so?” She didn’t feel dead . . . but she wasn’t sure. Lex was happy someone had a clear(ish) head on their shoulders. Without Killian Decker, she would have probably just stared at them blankly until they left her in this ethereal plane.

She copied Killian’s moves and gracefully swung herself on top of one of the other Spectrier. Lex had very limited horse riding experience so when the phantom took off down the mountain, she yelp in surprise and clung to the ghostly reins and squeezed her thighs, desperately trying to stay mounted on the pokemon.

TAMING THE HORSE

AS YOU RIDE AROUND THE MOUNTAIN, you feel your spirit becoming one with the spectrier despite the discombobulation of being forced out of your physical form. the odd phantom pains—ones that are associated with novice riders—begin to fade too. there is no discomfort now. only unity.

the spectrier finally stop. satisfied with their riders, the horses gallop back to your body. with a quiet whinny, the horses allow you to slide off their backs. as soon as your feet hit the floor, you feel yourself being pulled back to your body. one blink and you're back. before you, the spectrier remain, awaiting to be caught.

CONGRATULATIONS!

YOU TAMED THE HORSE!

THE SPECTRIER is now able to be caught with one of your pokeballs. you may decide their moveset like a gachapon pokemon (e.g. 6 learnset moves) and add them to your PCs.
