It had been some time since the boys had taken a night out. With all that had been going on in Hoenn lately, Josh had been quite busy. But today was a bit different. Amor had finally found an opportunity to take his friend out for drinks, though after the recent war and disasters, the bars had been... Well... A bit cramped for their tastes. So they had found themselves content to fish at Slateport Beach and drink.

They had found themselves a nice place on the pier. Lightning rested nearby, curled up, as Josh casted his line.

"How's your endeavors going, Amor?"

I'm addicted to the panic

Amor was tempted to just buy every bar in Slateport, and kick all the pedestrians out so he could have a moment of peace, and quiet with his friend, but instead he was talked into enjoying an evening of fishing with him instead. That was more than doable, so they found a nice spot far away from the rest of the world, and with Adontis curled up next to Lightning fast asleep they drank as they fished. Looking over at Josh when he asked him how his endeavors were going, it was an interesting question, how were his plans going?

"They are going well...I might be obtaining part of a company in a few days after I meet with someone, so I'll have something to run, or at least partially control...Which should be fun, I'll have to let you know how that goes. After that, I have a meeting with someone at Infinity Industries, and I am actually going to drop by your job...The uh Ranger one...To speak to one of the scientists about researching a meteor." he tapped his cheek as he cast his line out into the water. "So I guess they are going somewhat well...What about you? Have you taken over RaiCorp yet?" Amor asked curiously, to him it only made sense that Josh take over after all Amor had invested in him.

Josh probably would have asked him not to even if he'd tried. Things had been hellish in Hoenn for some time, so he understood the reasonings. And he wasn't selfish enough to put his own stresses over theirs. He and Amor could just go to the beach with some drinks and fish, that was no problem for him at all. But here they were, just happy to relax on the dock and talk like old times. Lightning was watching the line bob, though was starting to nod off here and there.

"Sounds like you enjoy running things" Josh teased Amor in turn with a small laugh. It was interesting, that thing with the Meteor though. "What kind of meteor?" he inquired, though the next question was definitely a big one. "Mother still runs it. I'm just the CEO. There's been nothing to indicate that'll change and I'm alright with that" he admitted with a shrug.

But something snapped the line, which Lightning caught onto quickly enough. Acting fast, Josh pulled out some kind of homemade Pokemon treat. The Crawdaunt clipping at the line would rise out of the ocean, surge forward... And stop at a whiff of the treat.

It didn't take long for Josh to get a bite on his line, a Crawdaunt appeared, and was seeming ready to go, there was no bite on his line, but when he turned around he saw something peculiar. There was a wild Kirlia on the beach dancing across the sand without a care in the world. Thinking for a moment he just smiled as he had the perfect pokemon to deal with it. After all he had been seeking a pokemon of this type for a while, and now that he had it within his grasp he certainly wasn't going to let it go. Setting his pole down in the holster that he had brought for it he rushed down the pier.

"I'll be back!" he yelled at Josh before tossing out a pokeball, and in a burst of white light his Duraludon appeared. "Falak go! Metal Claw quickly don't give it a chance to strike you first!" he ushered on his Pokemon as it skittered forward. Despite it's size it was relatively quick due to being made lighter by it's ability. It's claws began to light up as it quickly struck at the Kirlia who was unaware that there was a battle going on. The nice thing was that at least this particular fairy type didn't have the troublesome Misty Terrain ability that would put his Dragons at a harsh disadvantage

Kirlia however wasn't in a great mood after being struck out of nowhere like that, and it held it's hands to it's lips, and did a kissing motion releasing a heart of energy at his Duraludon almost point blank, it was to close for him dodge. The Draining Kiss hit his Steel Dragon, and dealt heavy damage to it while at the same time healing the Kirlia, but this was well within his expectations. Duraludon was strong enough to take a hit or two.

"Metal Burst!" Amor commanded his pokemon, and energy built up around his dragon, and then it exploded out in a blinding light that overtook the wild Kirlia, and knocked it out. It was a short battle, but it was enough for Amor to grab an empty Pokeball, and hurl it at the now unconscious Kirlia in the hopes that he would capture it. Thankfully it had dealt so much damage to his pokemon with a super effective move otherwise he wouldn't have been able to capture it so efficiently. "Alright...Now I have one more to cross off the list I think..." he laughed a little.

Josh couldn't help but laugh when Amor ran off to go after a Kirlia who had appeared. He watched with interest as he went on to battle it. The Crawdaunt meanwhile, had settled down next to Lightning and Adontis, with food in its belly. It hadn't been aggressive to begin with, just hungry. So Josh had no real reason to attack it. When Amor had returned, the smell of food that Josh had catered specifically to Water Type Pokemon had attracted a Lanturn as well, which for Josh pulled out a bit more of the specialist food and wiggled it enticingly.

"Try not to ignore your line, you never know when something could show up" he brought up with a small laugh. "You haven't changed. It's actually kind of refreshing. Time has marched on so quickly, it's felt like. I looked back and suddenly I'm married and have two kids."

Lanturn had been hesitant, but slowly began to sniff at the treat he had offered. It seemed that at some point since Amor had seen him last, Josh had picked up some skill in crafting Pokemon treats. He was no expert human cook. There was no way in the world he could hope to match Izumi. But he was definitely more in-tune with the tastes of Pokemon.

Amor had rushed back to his pole as quickly as he could, just as Josh had mentioned for him to not ignore his line, he saw it bending it. It seemed the silver haired male wasn't going to catch a break, but he grabbed the pole, and began to slowly ease the pokemon in, doing his best to not reel to fast, or hard so he didn't snap the line. Watching as the blonde man had befriended the Crawdaunt with ease using the power of food, he couldn't help, but just smile at his friend. Listening to his best friend talk while he slowly got his catch.

"Married, and two kids huh...I guess newlyweds are pretty busy, and you never know, perhaps I have changed more than you think. Regardless though I'm glad you are happy, it's hard to come by sometimes. Maybe one day I'll finally find someone who can put up with me long enough to want to think about marriage, and children...Then you'll be an uncle too." he laughed at the thought as he finally managed to reel in his line, and at the end was a Tentacool just enjoying the day it appeared. It wasn't struggling to much, and in fact seemed to be trying to reach out for one of Josh's treats.

"Seems we should be using that stuff as the bait..." Amor quipped as he reached out to feed a piece of the Pokemon to the Tentacool, and try to befriend it.

"Give it time" Josh reassured him with a laugh. "It took me longer than I would have thought too" he cracked, shooting a cheeky grin. Josh wasn't exactly arrogant, he wasn't expecting to be married this soon in his life. But it was fun to be the self confident one once in awhile. Couldn't let Amor have all the fun.

"Nah. Two reasons. One, you don't want to cause Pokemon to start fighting over the bait and end up destroying it in the process. And on top of that, you want them to know that it's you offering it. That's how you win their trust. They need to see it not as bait, but as a gift from person to Pokemon" Josh explained to Amor as he handed one of the treats to Amor to give to the Tentacool. He noticed quickly though, that while his line wasn't bobbing... Lightning's ears had perked up. Giving the Lanturn the food he had promised, and noting that it was sticking around, he made a mental note to catch both it and the Crawdaunt that had nestled next to Lightning. But the ear perk told Josh that something was coming. Taking a deep breath, he excused himself a moment, motioning for him to watch his line as he checked the bushes. A Shiinotic was looking back at him, and he backpedeled a bit in surprise.

It just kept staring.

"Yeah, I know" Josh remarked with a laugh. It was hungry. But Shiinotic's line fed on life force typically. The gathering had caught its attention. "Perhaps I can satiate your appetite with something else" he offered as he brought out a new kind of treat. "These are a bit experimental, I'm still nailing down what Fairy Types like. Why don't you try it for me?"

They had lucked out so far, and none of the types they had encountered so far had the Misty Surge ability which would have been a pain to deal with. With the Tentacool safely calmed down, and pacified with some of Josh's food, Amor leaned back, and he felt something behind him. Looking back it would seem that a Slowpoke had moseyed it's way over, and was just laying there on the pier behind Amor. Amor looking as if he was using it as a pillow, and it didn't seem to mind though he didn't know how true that was. Reaching back he pet the Slowpoke, and it seemed docile enough.

"I uh think we got another visitor...If this keeps up I'm going to run out of space in my manor..." he laughed a little, but he pat the Slowpoke, and he looked at Adontis who was still fast asleep, next to Lightning. The Slowpoke seeming to think that was a good idea went over to the pair, and curled up behind them, and fell asleep as well. It seemed that nap time was popular, at the moment. Amor could go for a nap himself after this fishing endeavor was over.

"And perhaps you are right...With enough time anything is possible I guess, but I seem to have terrible luck with women." he laughed a little, and stretched out, looking up at the sky. "If I'm being honest I couldn't picture myself with a wife, and kids...My life is a bit hectic especially lately. But that is also my own doing...I should probably try to date more, but eh..." he laughed a little before casting his line back out into the water. Aside from his money he wasn't a very interesting person, or so he thought.

Satiated for now, Shiinotic would soon find itself getting along with the others, before settling down on the dock, interested in the Water Pokemon they were fishing for. Meanwhile, Amor had befriended a Slowpoke. Josh couldn't help but laugh at the crowd that had been gathering around them. "This is getting rather crowded" he admitted. "Maybe you can win a girl over with all the Pokemon in your manor" came the joke soon after. "But I wouldn't worry about it. I was just myself with Izumi and things worked out eventually. Just... Work on yourself. Be the best you that you can be. And everything will fall into place in time."

He pulled an egg from his pack and placed it down nearby. "Speaking of falling into place, I've been raising this one lately. Found it after a recent mission with the Rangers. Hairy stuff. It's not a pattern I know, so I don't know what's going to hatch from it."

His line began to dip really fast, and he had to quickly pull. But no matter how much he heaved, it wasn't surfacing. At least, until it did. What was on the other end? A Granbull who had every bit of control on the line. And it didn't seem happy that he had been yanking.

"Oh... Shit."

As the Granbull rose from the water, Josh rose to his feet and considered his options. The newer Pokemon weren't properly trained yet, so he'd need to rely on an old hand. Or so he thought. From the Beast Ball on his belt that he had received from the Rangers, a purple creature that Amor likely wouldn't recognize would let itself out. "H-hey! You don't know how to battle properly yet!" Josh called to the Poipole, who up and greeted the growling Granbull with a surging Dragon Pulse that sent it flying back.

Josh didn't really know how to react, but Lightning had gotten up and taken a Pokemon from Josh's belt and yeeted it at Granbull to try and stop it from recovering to attack again.
