She had to think about it for a moment. She preferred Cillian Quinn to call her Lulu, but perhaps it was because she meant for him to know her as a different person. As someone like him, now. Not Saoirse.

Was there any room for Saoirse anymore?

Had she told Theo to call her that? Memories with this man, for some reason, blended in a chaotic way which was not typical. She didn’t know what she wanted from him.

So, she stared, for more than casual seconds. Perhaps, her eyes even watered.

Just as her breath settled into a more comfortable tempo, her chest thumped and stopped at his words. The tone was familiar, and somehow impossibly comforting despite its sting. A steel dam shut the water behind her eyes, and she pushed off her knees to stand taller, sniffing lightly.

“Nothing.”

With that, she shrank into shadow, and presumably left the building.
