Another new person, which was just fine. This tournament was about battling a lot of different people.

He waves his hand in greeting, too, and is a bit surprised about three pokemon being tossed out - damn. Well, that was just fine! Chu-e had plenty of pokemon to use that he could probably battle everyone without too much overlap. Wouldn't be fun to just use the same pokemon over and over.

Tossing out his Gardevoir, Azumarill, and Aromatisse he readied himself- thanks to his silly sunhat the rain wouldn't make too much of a difference, at least.

Upon release, Sprite took a deep breath and covered the field with a Misty Terrain, pink glitter settling to swirl around them.

"Thanks for the battle, dude! Good luck to you!"

[attr="class","matias"]rain meets mist, dampening, and he watches pink splotches smear across the ground. his eyes land on the three, analyzing, and an order follows.

"stay back."

beedrill buzzes upwards, scattering TOXIC SPIKES across the battlefield. blastoise stands its ground, feet planting, and fires off a WATER PULSE towards the gardevoir. jolteon dips between blastoise's legs, then calls for a THUNDER to strike down at the azumarill.

Chu-e snaps twice.

Princess (Gardevoir) steps up first, eyes gleaming. A psychic energy surrounds her, then surrounds the Jolteon- it won't hurt either of them; the energy around Princess turns an electric yellow before fading from them both.

The Thunder strikes- but not the Azumarill. The attack seems to curve, not missing exactly, but drawn to the Gardevoir. She blinks, it sparks off of her, and her body thrums with energy- she had Traced the Volt Absorb form the Jolteon.

The Water Pulse, however, still lands. Princess is left soaked and with a few blisters from the force but she shakes it off- she surges forward, body splitting into identical copies, her Double Teamhopefully leading to some confusion as she flits around the field like a ballerina.

Bloo laughs, the Azumarill taking a running leap and jumping into the air. A few moments later she slams back down, trying to Bounce on the Beedrill.

Sprite, Armotaisse, is the last- he keeps his distance and dances in place, more support than a true fighter. Yet, he still raises his hands up high, pink energy pouring off of him and heightened by the Misty Terrain- a Moonblast shot at the Jolteon.

[attr="class","matias"]wordless commands bring him back to times he'd rather not revisit. he narrows his eyes, suppressing memories under a well-crafted mask.

the TRACE is annoying. they'll need to find a way to arc the THUNDER in a direction that favors them. he ponders on it as the battle kicks off.

a PROTECT forms over beedrill, keeping it safe from the BOUNCE, and it allows it an opportunity to strike with its stinger for a POISON JAB, aided by jolteon's HELPING HAND, which leaves the electric-type open to the MOONBLAST. it cries from the impact.

whoever he's battling has experience.

Azumarill huffs when she strikes the shield of the Blastoise and not her target. This is turned into a whining cry when she's stabbed with the Poison Jab in her tail. The area around the hit fades into a nasty looking purple, a Poison taking hold on top of her already disadvantaged self. She isn't one to take that laying down, though, trying to shift her body to instead Slam down on the nearby Jolteon.

"Oooooh okay... so.... hmm...." Chu-e leans in some, eyes intent on the battle, muttering to himself as he rolls over strategy in his mind. He still gives the occasional snap, sometimes accompanied by the rare click of the tongue or even rarer a whistle. His pokemon seem to know what these quiet directions mean, at least.

Aromatisse starts to sing, a deep and thrumming song in his Echoed Voice. The beat of the song promises to get louder and harder to ignore the longer that he's allowed to do so, the noise grating.

Meanwhile, the Gardevoir and her clones stop in their movement, narrowly not stepping on the Poison Barbs (this time). Blue psychic energy pulsed off her and a few of the barbs were pulled into the air- her Psychic flinging them at the Blastoise with high force.

[attr="class","matias"]SLAM hits jolteon, squishing, and it cries out in pain but doesn't retaliate.

all three tense in pain against the loud ECHOED VOICE, even matias. they stand their ground, blastoise taking the brunt of the POISON BARBS, but retaliation comes heavy in the form of a BLIZZARD.

the pain from being POISONED threatens to weaken it, but jolteon's HELPING HAND aids enough. beedrill scatters another wave of TOXIC SPIKES that are carried by the strong winds of the BLIZZARD.

I hate battles and have been putting these posts off. They will be short. May god help us.

Another quick Psychic is used for the defensive. A few of the Poison Barbs are halted in place. It can't do it to all of them and can't change the Blizzard, so the ice attack and a few of the toxic barbs still hit the Gardevoir and her teammates.

The Azumarill, however, isn't about to take this proximity she's gained lightly. She rolls to her feet after the Slam, bracing herself and charging for the Jolteon once again with her Super Power. The poison hurts but she will persevere.

The Aromatisse, meanwhile, also winces from the bracing cold and the sticking barbs, but he just raises his Echoed Voice (+1) to continue his verbal assault.

[attr="class","matias"]ECHOED VOICE versus BLIZZARD; violent sounds vibrate through the air, causing discomfort for anyone nearby.

beedrill zips back, wings fluttering, before it lunges a POISON JAB into azumarill's side, once again aided by jolteon's HELPING HAND.

jolteon continues to struggle, taking most of the damage.

BLIZZARD continues.

Much like the Blizzard, the Echoed Voice (+2) rings even higher. They're drawing a crowd from the commotion alone.

Azumarill cries out, weakened both from the poison and the attacks, including the drain from the Super Power. Yet, she still has a bit of fight in her. She needs this Jolteon done for even if it means she will be out of the running as well. She grabs for the Jolteon one last time, purple spreading over her form, trying to shake it around and Play Rough.

The Gardevoir through the storm, her clones dancing in time with her. Once close enough to the Blastoise, she leans in to plant a Draining Kiss on the turtle.

[attr="class","matias"]the PLAY ROUGH is enough to down the jolteon. it falls to the ground, knocked unconscious. but it paves the way for beedrill to deliver the final blow on azumarill with another POISON JAB.

blastoise grunts as it takes the pain of the ECHOED VOICE and DRAINING KISS, struggling to keep its focus.

but the BLIZZARD continues, rivaling the ECHOED VOICE.

"fuck this is loud."

Rest assured that CHu-e made some snappy remark, it was just drowned out by the continued Echoed Voice (+3). Honestly, it was kind of a boring move, but man I don't wanna write anything more exciting.

The Azumarill did fall, flopping on top of the Jolteon before she was slurped back up into her pokeball.

Sticking both fingers in his mouth, Chu-e let out a sharp and high pitched whistle. With the Jolteon out of the way...

The Gardevoir lifted her arms, lighting crackling off her body as it charged. This was not a normal Thunderbolt, but instead a Gigavolt Havoc, the Z-Move crashing down with intensity.

I wanna get that extra BP.

[attr="class","matias"]his orders are drowned out by the obnoxiously loud battle that plays out in front of them. honestly, he's surprised more people haven't gotten up and left yet.

the crack of electricity isn't missed. beedrill flies forward, intercepting the GIGAVOLT HAVOC that just about drains most of its health. on its last leg, it closes the distance and throws a POISON JAB right into gardevoir's side, soon to fall after.

despite the cold, blastoise sweats, continuing the BLIZZARD.

Suddenly, the howling song stops. It leaves behind a dull ringing of the ears.

But Aromatisse isn't out cause he's done. A halo of light blooms above the Beedrill, a Moonblast getting ready to crash down.

Gardevoir hisses and touches her side. Her own last leg is under way but she refuses to go down just yet. The Z-move had exhausted her so she couldn't do it again. Still, she could fight, so another Thunderbolt fizzles off her body and heads for the Blastoise.

She sighs and freezes solid, the Blizzard finally getting to her. Chu-e calls her back.
