“Are you sure this is okay for me to just use?” Razz can’t help but question as he stares at the gift as he examines the Pikatite. He would give the other a small smile and a nod of thanks as he calls out Gold the Pikachu. [break][break]

He doesn’t entirely favor their odds as Yui was a techy while his style of battle was different than the usual trainer vs trainer due to being a Ranger. And they were to face off against an Gym Trainer and an Elite Four member. [break][break]

Razz didn’t favor their odds but they’ll see how it works out.

She was still unable to z-move either despite the fact that she only managed to do it against the duraludon. It was a fluke, it shouldn't count, SHE DIDNT EVEN GET TO SEE IT! [break][break]
Whatever, the point was her current hypothesis of battling over and over was eventually helping her actually so when razz was offering her a battle with people she knew to be strong she agreed extremely quickly and showed up right on time, even with a gift for razz! She had to give him a gift for putting up with her constantly, a pikatite. Not even like she had a pikachu either.

"We really might," Razz chuckles lightly in reply to Stormy as he returns the wave. The ranger was slightly tense at the sight of the Arcanine, but he has been working on his fire phobia thanks to FERNANDO SILPH a bit and he usually had to deal with a Heatran in those sessions. So the dog was slightly less intimidating. At least it wasn't a certain lion otherwise he's sure he'd be useless to Yui. [break][break]

With the announcer calling for them to start Razz whistles twice at two different pitches as Gold chuckles as he begins to PLOT something NASTY to raise himself up a bit. Before that he would spin with a cute little jump as he uses SWEET KISS on the Arcanine to confuse the canine. [break][break]

Stormy whistles, a sharp, short noise between thumb and finger. Arcanine bounces into the ring, immense body eating up distance with long strides. He shakes out his dense, striped fur, showering the ground with strands. He really needed a brushing.[break][break]

And when the Pikachu approaches, the dog is bewildered by the snickering expression it provides. He is even more caught off-guard when he lowers his head to investigate the Pokemon only for him to jump up to meet him instead, spinning around, dizzying, to plant a smooch upon his fuzzy maw.[break][break]

He paws at his head, rattled and suddenly unsteady on his feet. In fact, he almost seems bashful and giddy, dancing from side to side, tail wagging dumbly.[break][break]

The sweet kiss proves effective in confusing him, and he makes himself so nauseous trying to focus and walk that he belches out a meek flamethrower in a stream ahead of him. It scorches the ground, sizzling with a heat uncommon for the likes of a mere Arcanine.[break][break]

Stormy seems to positively glow.[break][break]

She squints at stormy, of course they were going to need help. The two young adults afraid of fire had to fight the elite 4 KNOWN for using fire Pokémon. "Duh. I know how you battle, I've already strategized against you." she says pouting as she watched almost every single one of her and fern's matches that were available on tv or to the public. Razz was the first to make a move and Yui had to follow up, and not let her breathe. She was going to focus stormy, the longer she had free room the more likely it was she'd turn the battle in her favor. "Eevee, use shadow ball on d4. Dig." she orders coldly as she put her thumb against her lips and focused entirely on the battle. She was going to have to give this her all.

The situation was already off to a bad start. Eevee and Pikachu were ganging up on the Arcanine. If this hadn't been a team battle, then she'd have left it to die on its own.

"Seriously, you can't dodge a sweet kiss?"

Mienshao is quick with her movements. She lunges into the way of the Shadow Ball and bats it aside. The Eevee disappears, and the weasel focuses her mind. She's prepared to defend Arcanine until its confusion fades.

Good, Razz thinks as he feels like they get rid of their fire problem for a bit. As the ranger had come to noticed that Yui shared the same problem as him when it came to his aversion to fire. With Eevee going for a ground move Razz gives a whistle. Taking advantage of the fact that the Gym Trainer put themselves in the way of Eevee's attack and the Arcanine. And thus putting their back toward Gold. [break][break]

Gold will go in and strike from behind, using PLAY ROUGH. He knows the fighting type will be a problem for his partner so they'll do what they can to handle them.

Stormy's expression turns to exaggerated surprise, but she genuinely is impressed. Her teasing, albeit rude, is just that, however: teasing. It was a defense mechanism, a reactionary need to be just a little bit cold and hostile. [break][break]

Arcanine has since dropped to the ground, rolling around in the dirt, tongue lolling. The shadow ball sails overtop of his head; purely luck. He pants, dazed, confused, unaware of the fact that his second opponent has disappeared. The ground trembles beneath him and he is none-the-wiser. [break][break]

Well, not until Eevee rockets up underneath him, burying him in sand and bruising his back. The oversized dog yelps in surprise and pain, flailing to get back on his feet. Stormy tilts her head, glancing from the Eevee to Yui.[break][break]

"Aim where you think your opponent will be, not where they are already standing, Yui."[break][break]

She wants to say more, but her partner's aggressive comment, and the one from earlier, snags her attention. Stormy hesitates, blindsided by this woman's passion. But was this passion, or was this pure aggression and pride?[break][break]

"Villetta."[break][break]

It's a warning.[break][break]

But with Arcanine back on his feet and cleared of his brain fog, Stormy snaps back to attention.[break][break]

"Intercept, Arcanine!"[break][break]

Flames lick the ground he walks on as he sprints, bursting into flame. He barrels forward to trample the Pikachu, but it is unclear whether or not he is successful in intercepting due to his flare blitz burning too brightly to see through.

Yui decided to feed into Stormy's sisterly taunts "Oh I always listen, like when you were listening to me when we were catching Pokémon on that route?" she says pouting at her sister and stomping her foot a bit as she was still butt hurt over it. It was useful advice honestly, if only Yui wasn't too stubborn to take it. The shadow ball was a mere ruse as she didn't really need to land it as it was just cover fire for Eevee to be able to dig. [break][break]

She landed the dig attack, good! "Good job Eevee!" she calls out to as the Pokémon lets out a small pleased cry. However that pleased cry wasn't going to last very long as Stormy was retaliating against the Pikachu. Yui needed to do something and quick as Mienshao was a threat she couldn't ignore, normal types only had one weaknesses and that woman had options Yui had to start knocking out. She wasn't going to risk getting near mienshao so! "Eevee! Helping hand pikachu!" she ordered as Eevee cheered Pikachu on and sent some streams of energy towards Pikachu enhancing the play rough's power.

Is Stormy Silph really giving her opponent advice in the middle of the fight? Villetta growls. "Disgraceful." looks like she'd be doing this on her own.

"Detect!" and the Mienshao is quick, blocking the Play Rough before it can land on her. The weasel leaps back to put distance between herself and the Arcanine.

"Leave the Arcanine to fend for itself, Chun-Li."

Eh doesn’t entirely know what is going on between the two but it’s clear to him that they’re not getting along. That will probably be their saving grace here if Yui and him could do so. Gold can’t help but give a growl when his attacks miss due to detect. So it wasn’t like the Helping hand could really do much. Gold’s attack on the team mate made avoiding the flare blitz that came at them impossible as it knocked back Razz’s Pikachu leaving a burn. The attack makes him freeze up a bit, but he bites his lip. He won’t let that fear get in the way. ”Think you can follow my lead Yui?” he questions her as the keystone on his belt begins to glow. ”Remember you have to focus on your bond, and both of you have to want it”[break][break]

With that instruction Pikachu’s body would glow before getting slightly bigger with his tail glowing. Gold was clearly new to the power as it seemed off set by his new size, but was more than happy to keep on going. Thanks to the Mega Evolution curing himself of the burn. After Gold will run forward to strike the Arcanine first.

Discomfort rises, as does her temperature, at the blatant disrespect or misconstrued competitiveness being exhibited by the white-haired woman at her side. [break][break]

Arcanine continues to pull his punches a bit, bowling over the Pikachu like a plastic ball might a bunch of plastic pins. He looms over the Pikachu, fondly licking the little yellow mouse to soothe the burns he'd endured.[break][break]

Unfortunately, playtime was about to be over. What with the Mienshao leaving him to the proverbial wolves and Razz ramping up the heat to an eleven with the mention of mega-evolution, this battle was suddenly about to give Stormy a run for her money.[break][break]

The Pikachu swells in size and the Arcanine yelps in surprise, dancing off to the side. Whatever burns had been inflicted were gone, and now Arcanine was the one being chased. He bolts, and Stormy is uncertain whether he runs because he's having run, or because he's genuinely startled by the volt tackle sizzling on his heels.[break][break]

Stormy, still rattled by her partner's competitive behaviour, blinks her head in surprise before refocusing on her sister.[break][break]

"Yui, are you still on about that? Let it go! I listen to you... most of the time!"[break][break]

Another yelp indicates that Arcanine has been trampled, and with his legs up in the air and his tail tucked between his legs, he eventually bowls himself over to rise back to his feet. With a thorough shake, static electricity leaves his fur ten times its size and density. To blow off steam, he performs another hot flamethrower against the mega-evolved Pikachu.[break][break]

"Since when could Pikachu mega-evolve? Shouldn't that be something Raichu can do? Wait.. can Raichu mega-evolve?"
