Bo watched as shadows literally danced across cave walls, the hollering of their casters echoing through every rocky vein. He counted them.

“That might be too many to take down ourselves. We should just try to sneak past and get the pokémon out safely,” he decided, looking back at Kingsman. “Yamask’ll keep an eye out and create a HAZE if they see us, and that should give us enough time to do what we need to do.”

The ghost lingered inconspicuously in a nearby shadow.

He reached for yet another pokéball and released Thwackey, finger to his lips to pre-emptively quiet the musical monkey before enlisting his help. “Help me with the cages, Thwack,” he said lowly, and they headed to begin the job. Bo was exceptionally good at picking locks.

After the offer Royal decides to help take the lead in leading them across. Being the ninja pokemon sneaking around seemed like its best strength. Telling the Rangers to stop and go when it knew they could get caught until they were at the cages.

bo was making the safe call, not aware of kingsman’s level of battle prowess. he stopped moving for the cages, turning back to consider.

“you think we can take ‘em?” his head cocked to the side, and he gave a smirk. “your call, kingsman.”

But he was already reaching for his team, making it clear that, once again, razz had altered the gameplan. Soon armed with several pokeballs laced between his fingers, he then checked, “or would you rather wait ‘til they’re asleep?”

Why did the guy keep telling him it was his call? Was this some sort of test? Honestly yes he things they could very much take them. Especially now that his Buzzwole was no longer a secret. However might be risky when they had pokemon to take care of. [break][break]

"I think rescuing the pokemon should come first, after we could probably call for back up once they're safe," he finally says to give his input on it since that's what they seemed to be looking for. "Save what's here, most will probably be asleep by that time then when weaken we can strike."[break][break]

Was this too battle calculated?

it was maybe a little bit of a test, and razz passed. it was a solid plan, and bo didn’t ever mind seeing a bit of action.

“sounds good to me. i’m gonna get these cages real quick, then. watch my back, okay?”

he went to continue picking the locks at a skillfully quick pace. after each door swung open, he coaxed the pokémon into a ball for transport and optimum sneakiness. he was steady, not fazed by the possibility of their downfall by so many pirates—because he also knew they could take them.

“Understood,” Razz follows before he looks to Salem and tilt’s his head toward the cages to have the cat help. Meanwhile he moves with Royal to blend into the shadows as they watched the pirates. [break][break]

As one gets up Royal uses a water attack to make them trip up. For a moment there was nothing but silence as they stared at the fallen man. Razz held his breath in some nervousness, but after that was a roar of laughter. All of them were so drunk as they were unable to really notice the empty cages. [break][break]

Red eyes looking back to check on the other’s progress.

some time passed. the locks were picked with criminal quickness, eventually, the rare pokémon were freed and all packed up into pokéballs for transport. bo shoved them one by one into two bag and shrugged one onto his shoulders with a grunt.

with everything ready to take back, he looked at razz. “here. take this one.” he held up the second bag, heavy in his arm. “let’s go. get these safe before we do anything else.”

at least, to the entrance, where they could call for backup.

out of the corner of his eye, he saw the glow of a will-o-wisp. had something detected them?

Razz did what he could to help out, old criminal background being helpful for once as it allowed him to pick locks quicker than if he didn't have the training. Because arceus knows the Rangers didn't teach him this stuff. After he would take the bag given to him and just give a nod about helping out before he follows after him. The will-o-wisp going unnoticed as it was on his blind side. [break][break]

Thankfully Royal comes into the picture quickly using AERIAL ACE to grab the Rangers and get cover meanwhile Salem uses PSYCHIC to move something on the opposite end of the cave in order to draw attention. [break][break]

Hopefully most were too drunk to think of anything being seen over the noise.

bo had to do a doubletake at razz’s lockpicking. there was too much skill. his eyes narrowed a hair and regarded him suspiciously a moment before returning to his work, not wanting to alert him in any way that he’d noticed.

just as he looked back, he caught the WILL-O-WISP out of the corner of his eye. felt the heat of purple flames just barely lick, and threw an arm up. ”shit—“ but they were being whisked away to safety.

yamask reappeared, and bo commanded it with a hand signal. A CRAFTY SHIELD gleamed around them briefly, protective.

he nodded in thanks to the greninja.

”okay. let’s get ‘em out of here.”

he headed for the shadows, towards the cave’s entrance.

“Let’s keep going Salem can handle himself,” the younger Ranger says after Royal puts both rangers down. The frog waves them off that he’ll keep back as a just in case, Razz giving a nod as he trusted his pokemon as he started heading toward the entrance of the cave they were in were the bag of stolen pokemon still on him as he is quick to move himself on a speed boat that they could use. From deep down the cave an explosion could be heard as well as the sound of crumbling rocks and boulders. [break][break]

“Destroy the other boats while I get this going will you?” Razz request as he looks around the boat to see if there were any keys. And because he was very unlucky there weren’t, but hey hot wiring was something he learned along the way so it should be fine. Just a pull of the panel here and a fixing of wires there and the Speedboat’s engine’s roar. Razz would take the driver’s seat for whenever the other found themselves into the boat Razz would take off. A

cloyster and sharpedo were released from their balls, into the water. he stood nearby, pointing in commanding signals, marking each vessel to be ravaged from the bottom up and sunk below with SLASH and SPIKE CANNON.

when everything was taking on water, he returned to their getaway, and settled in for the trip. noticing there was no key, he chuckled, looking away again.

”i don’t remember learning that in ranger class,” he teased with a smirk. razz was streetwise, he’d decided. that was cool.

Part of the reason why Razz gives the other the job he does is because he is hoping he doesn't see the way he just hotwires the boat. However it seems Boruta was much more observant than he gave him credit for , as he knows many other rangers probably wouldn't have noticed the lack of keys. "Yeah... well..." he mutters some gibberish sheepishly as he clearly can't explain himself. "Got to learn thing outside Rangers and ...." again he goes back to mumbling. [break][break]

Thankfully that's when Royal appears to jump onto the boat from the water with a wet Salem on his head. Least there was that pleasant interruption. "Good job you two," he's thankful for the distraction of the previous conversation.

was razz being more than a little dodgy?

bo looked over, tilted his head with a smile on his face before turning back to the waters. ”whatever you say, kingsman.”

yamask appeared shortly after the rest, and be reached to return it to its ball. cloyster was also returned as it began to fall behind the boat, but scarred sharpedo kept up easily, only a shadow at the surface.

the scratch of the radio was followed by bo’s report back to base. the mission was complete, boats destroyed, pokemon rescued, and the pirates were prime to be dealt with, presumably without a means of escape.

when the report was ended, he sat back.

”i’d say that went well. good work.”
