Living in Sootopolis Razz was able to hear about the rumors first hand. The first of the rumors small and just about what was going on in the sea waters. So mostly the fishermen were the ones who were telling stories. Though with in the past week or so now there were reports that lived closer to home, and Razz wasn't about to continue to let this happen. With the help of his pokemon he had been able to locate a grotto on the outskirts of the island, an area where not many from the city focused on everyone focused at the center. So it seemed like a plausible hiding spot. He has reported his finding to higher ups to which he was given permission to engage, but not without another. [break][break]

It was late when he asked to have the other meet him at this location. Late enough where best case scenario the pirates figured they were safe away hiding and thus their guards were lowered. Worse case would be them already preparing themselves for another heist. Either way Razz was going to do what he could to stop them. Though before that he would wait for his fellow Ranger partner to show.

Bo typically found himself out doing jobs early in the morning, so, a late evening mission had him feeling a bit out of sorts.

He’d parked his bike a way off, and Dewgong had carried him through the dark waters the rest of the way. Coordinates on a phone in a waterproof case led them straight to the grotto, where they resurfaced. He found footing, and then land, nodding at Razz. “Kingsman. How’s it goin’?”

Bo shook out his hair, and returned his sea lion back to its capsule.

"Maher," Razz greets still paying attention only to the cave entrance, "I've been keeping an eye out, last people to come in was about 2 hours ago, no one has left the cave since," clearly he was a man of business. The job was now and free time was after. Though it wasn't like the younger ranger was much different. [break][break]

From there his Greninja comes back and seems to give him a signal, "And it seems the entrance is clear as well," the half blind ranger finally looks to the other. "How do you want to procced sir?" he questions, cause while both of them were Cadets Boruta had the seniority over him. So in his mind out ranked him.

Sir.

Bo had yet to feel any sense of authority over anyone in the rangers. In Rocket, he’d had similar difficulty grasping such a role. He’d preferred to work alone, if only not to have to bark orders. He was too easygoing for it. Maybe he’d improve. He told himself he would, however weird it felt. Only time would tell.

“Well. One of my go-to tactics is DIG and come up from underneath. Then, they don’t know where you’re coming from.” He reached for two pokeballs, containing a Copperajah and Durant, respectively. “Once they’re confused and scattered, go in and do our thing.”

“Dig?” Razz can’t help but question but he isn’t too sure about the tactic. Because dig meant they were sending their pokemon alone without orders. And they didn’t know in what condition the pirates were in. Were they sleeping? Were they awake? [break][break]

Too many variables that couldn’t be accounted for, however he wasn’t the one in charge. And following orders was still his number one concern. At the very least he knew he had what it took to back things up in case things went south. It wasn’t that he didn’t trust the other, he just wasn’t sure. "If that's what you want then sure, I have a Flygon that can join in with that," he offers seeing what the other wants to do.

Razz was questioning—and that did nothing to offend Bo. His authority was merely something he accepted. He would always be open to suggestions. Now, he was curious.

“Well, hold on. You sound like you have something in mind.” He crossed his arms, and it was clear that they wouldn’t be going anywhere until the younger ranger fessed up on his idea—assuming there was one. “What were you thinking, Kingsman? Come on, tell me.” Maybe they’d do it his way, instead.

There is uncomfort in the air around him now that the other seems determined to hear from him. And he feels like a kid called on by a teacher who clearly didn't know the answer. Though here it was more he very much didn't want to. He just wants to fall in line and get this done. [break][break]

"I don't really have an idea sir, only thing I have on my mind is worry as with dig we'll be sending pokemon in on their own when we have no information how many there are, no clue if they're awake or asleep, not to mention dig can be loud so if they're not careful we're also loosing the element of surprise." [break][break]

Razz airs a fraction of his grievances, "If you want to go in guns blazing that's fine, but maybe we should try and sneak a bit, get some intel?"

While the younger ranger was obviously not the most confident, it was clear that he had a very good head on his shoulders.

He’d made some very good points. Bo was not the type to wave his dick around for the sake of it. If there was a better idea, they’d go with that one—rank be damned. He was just here to get the job done.

“Yeah,” he responded rather simply at first, nodding. “Okay, Kingsman. I hear ya. Very good points. That’s what we’ll do, then.”

He reached for his Yamask’s ball, releasing it. “Sneaky time, Yamask. Let’s go.”

If Razz was ready, they’d continue further into the cave.

"Wait what?" Razz questions at first not having expected to be listened too. That small nagging voice in the back of his head saying that he wasn't really worth listening to. His rank too low, so he was almost dumbfounded as Maher was quick to give up on his own idea for Razz's.[break][break]

Though if nothing else he was adaptable. [break][break]

"You got this?" Razz looks to his Greninja who simply nods because of course they have it, they were a ninja. Blending into the shadows they are quick to look at the entrance. From there voices are echoing from deep inside, but thankfully no one protecting the entrance. The ninja pokemon would give the rangers a sign that the close was clear. [break][break]

He looked over, lips curling a little to one side at his surprise. It was somehow usually the people who believed in themselves the least who had the best ideas and the brightest thoughts. Bo figured Razz just needed to trust himself more.

Yamask floated after the Greninja, splitting off to take another side of the shaded perimeter with ghostly stealth.

His golden gaze focused after them until they disappeared into the dark of the cave, and then turned on Razz again. “How long have you been a ranger?”

All he could do is wait for the duo to return, and for now it seems like Bo is the chatting type that likes to fill in the silence. Not his thing, but Razz has become willing to adapt and adjust to more social people in his time with the rangers. He looks to his phone to see the date, "Fourteen months," he comments before putting it away. He notes the look Salem gives him, "Umm... how about you?"[break][break]

It wouldn't be long after where his greninja would return and give a report to Salem. After the cat would carefully translate to Razz with sign language. "They say the entrance is clear of people, and that he hears a bunch of... singing?" he seems a tad confused at that part, but Royal nods. Knowing what he heard.

Bo did feel compelled to fill the silence at times. Maybe it was part of being the oldest of his siblings. His dad had told him that his words were especially important, so he’d always (mostly) been supportive; there at every track meet that CIAN MAHER and caden maher ran, and everything else they ever did—up until leaving.

He’d cheered them on, though. Loud. He would have been there for Rae Rançon too, had he known.

Fourteen months. Surely, that would have made him a teen when he’d started. Bo smiled, his feeling of regret well-hidden.

“Not much longer than you. Couple years, give or take a little.” He couldn’t honestly remember. It’d been a rough time, and it sort of all blurred together.

Yamask didn’t return with the other two, still somewhere near the perimeter. Bo didn’t seem concerned by it.

None at the entrance, but that didn't necessarily mean no people at all, right? Singing.

“… Maybe they’re drunk?” Could be good or bad for them, really.

"A couple of years seems like it out weighs my simple 14 months," Razz would make the attempt to joke, though with his usual toneless demeanor it would definitely come across as just basic fact rather than him joking. Though unlike his trainer Razz does wonder about what happened to the Yamask. Worried it might have gone deeper and got caught. And if so how deep did they go? [break][break]

“Eh. Not that much longer.” Then again, he was definitely older than Kingsman. Time flew by nowadays. A year was nothing.

Yamask was very sneaky. Bo didn’t worry, because he had the utmost faith that the ghost would stay well out of sight.

He nodded. “Yeah, let’s do it.”

Without further ado, he began to walk deeper into the cave.
