Today felt long. [break][break]

Well everyday since their 10th birthday felt long to him if he were being honest. Today was barely any different. In the day he was in the labs with his father, while Asriel spend the day with their mom. Once home, it was training with mom. Then dinner, and finally homeschooling with dad. [break][break]

The biggest difference today was with the way their father chewed out his brother for his failure on their test he made for them. While Raziel has long since moved on from the topics his brother was still learning it was clear his twin still struggled. And thus the all too familiar berating their father would often give the white hair twin about being dunce, imbecile, and simpleton. [break][break]

It was after hours now and long since they should be asleep but Raziel found it difficult. So he gets up and leans down from his top bunk. "Hey brooooo..." he calls to his brother in a whisper so their parents wouldn't hear. "You awake?"

Asriel was tired due to hearing his father chewing him out. The only thing he had been looking forwards to was sleeping, that way a new day would start and he could forget about how shitty today was.

Some reason sleep would not come to him, Asriel eyes stare upward: the top portion of the bunk bed, he huffs softly to himself feeling frustrated that he couldn't sleep. He closes his eyes once again, this time trying really hard to fall asleep.

Asriel doesn't bother re-opening his eyes when hearing Raizel's voice, he keeps them shut pulling his blanket over his head.

"Go to bed Razz.. " He mumbles drowsily, though Asriel's aware that Razz wouldn't listen.

"Naaaaah," Raziel replies almost playfully, the younger twin trying to adjust himself so he could be leaning over a bit more comfortably without falling off. He's only silent for a moment as he tries to think of a way to ask. But sometimes direct was the best way. [break][break]

He knew that Raizel wouldn't listen. Out of the two, Raizel was more stubborn and persistent. Strangely, Asriel disliked and liked him for those traits: it was admirable and troublesome really depended on the situation.

Eyes glance back at Raizel, Asriel would consider this to be the latter. He sighs again, he decides to ignore Razz for the time being hoping that he would fall asleep if he didn't respond to him.

The question catches him off guard, and Asriel turns to look back at Raizel. "..I'm fine.." Raizel could detect the lie fairly easily, Asriel voice tended to trail off when he was lying. Asriel realizes that the answer wouldn't satisfy him, he sighs and scoots to one side of the bed. The wooden frame squeaking softly because of the movement.

Asriel choses not to say anything, figuring that Razz would understand his intentions.

Raziel just gives his brother a look. One that gave nothing but sass, something only his brother would ever see as he was too nervous to be like this with others, "Uh-huh yeah sure." Reading others was never a strength of his. Being in the labs limited his interaction with people, but with his brother he found it easier. Almost like he could pretend that he was a people person around him. [break][break]

He smiles when his twin moves over in his bed and Raziel is quick to move. Pausing once or twice when he felt the wood creaked too loud. Though he was quick to join Asriel in the empty spot, sitting up only by his elbow. "You didn't do terrible you know..." okay maybe that was a lie, "Well it was better than last time at least..."

Asriel knew that look very well, it was something that he didn't see very often but whenever Raizel had that expression he knew to concede defeat. There was no way he could change his mind on the matter.

He glances away when Raziel attempts to make him feel better, glad that the poor lighting concealed his pinked cheeks. Though he didn't want to admit it, hearing his brother say that made him fuzzy - happy. There weren't many times such feelings were invoked in their setting.

He remains silent and glances back at his twin,

"How do you do it?"
