It should not have been such a surprise though that his mentor had access to such a powerful beast, yet it does.

[break][break] With the help of the other's flash fire, Jayden's own Torkoal uses heat wave to start on the popcorn order. In a matter of time, the kernels pop and his mentor's Togekiss tosses them into the air in a beautiful display. A few of the customers who are waiting on the sideliens for their order give an appropriate amount of "oohs" and "aahs".

[break][break] As Chef Meowth asks them to clean up the order in the back, Rowan takes quickly to the task as the others work on finishing up the rest of the order. Jayden directs his attention over the the Swablu Shaved Ice. Once again, his Crobat dives through the air with HAZE to create the illusion of soft, frosty fog in front of the order right after Serena Malcolm and her pokemon are able to finish off the cold treat.

After cleaning up the stall under the direction of a hissing String, Gavin turns his attention to a fresh wave of orders.

"Make room over there!"

This time, it's not a size issue. His Heatran is swapped out for a blue-furred midnight Lycanroc who immediately drops into a defensive prowl, fur rippling along its spine as teeth pull back from gums in a warning growl. This is a creature meant for combat, not cooking.

But Gavin's sharp whistle draws its eye, and under his instruction, the werewolf utilizes a FIRE PUNCH to cook and deliver the Sneasel Burger in one swift motion.

Thankfully, the rest of his Pokemon are less vicious.

Klinklang and Minun work together with their PLUS + MINUS combo as a pair of Galarian dragons tend to the Pikachu Fruit Flan. Appletun provides its APPLE ACID with Flapple delivering GRAV APPLES to be CUT by the Farfetch'd who has remained on stand-by with its trusty leek-sword.

Protected by the sweltering heat by its ICE SCALES, Gavin's Frosmoth flits between stations to assist where needed.

[attr="class","jayden"]It's only a matter of time before they are swept into another swarm of orders, just as they are finished cleaning up the area under the jurisdiction of the Meowth chef. Jayden's gaze flicks over to his mentors and he gives a step back to make room for the pokemon that materializes into that space.

[break][break] The dark-haired boy also gives a sharp whistle of his own, just as he releases his Torterra. The pokemon's form materializes in the space away from the kitchen, yet still close enough to have an impact. The grass-type works in perfect conjunction with his mentor's Lucario, releasing a swirl of leaf storm the slices through the air and into the freshly-prepared burger.

[break][break] At the very sudden display, the crowd gives a startled gasp before clapping in support for the two pokemon's show of teamwork! Live food always brought entertainment, after all.

[break][break] Meanwhile, Jayden busies himself with handing over beverages to the other customers who are still waiting in the wings, making sure that they are happy while they wait in line for their order.

Gavin slides his gaze toward Rowan Wrynn, utterly unashamed.

"You would find it spotless, because I am a professional."

They'd left the training room clean, too, but he doesn't include that part. It was enough that his brother knew about the incident, he didn't need to have the details. Not that it would bother Gavin if he did.

Nearby, Gavin's Arctozolt eagerly acts as a rolling pin, SLAMMING pizza dough into the required shape so that Gavin's Muk can FLING the ingredients into place.

Gavin watches his Thievul like a hawk, ensuring that a required PARTING SHOT is its only contribution to the kitchen. They didn't need the notorious thief nicking their ingredients!

While he's always considering Gavin something like family, who Gavin dates has hardly ever been a thought of concern to him. Still, he thinks about what Rowan Wrynn could possibly mean, and thinks of the chipper gentleman that he'd met at the HST and shared burgers afterwards with.

[break][break] What kinds of things was Tempest Quinn hiding in the underboss' office?

[break][break] More than that, was licking really an effecient way of waking one up? He wondered if he would have to eventually develop a hypothesis for it.

[break][break] "Polina!" The Torchic jumps to attention with a sharp whistle from her trainer, and sends a sharp bursts of Ember to give the Cheesy Rowlet Pizza a nice crust.

[break][break] Still, Jayden's gaze slides over to Cillian Quinn . "Proper clean up is quite the important skill," he agrees, having no idea that the clean up that the two brothers are referring to is actually quite different than the jobs that Jayden himself are used to.

Much as Gavin enjoyed cooking, the Eevee Pancakes ordered by their next customer requires a HELPING HAND from his Riolu.

It's not the only Pokemon he's got helping — Vaporeon's FLIP TURN ensures the flapjacks are golden brown on either side.

"Duck!"

A Hawlucha enters the kitchen in dramatic fashion, its FLYING PRESS delivering GATHERED HONEY from a helpful Combee.

CHEEKS STUFFED with various nuts and berries, a Skwovet skitters over to decorate the honeyed waffles before they're slid down the line.

"Remind me never to let a Pokemon guilt me into this shit again," Gavin grumbles, though a wry smile suggests he's not as irritated as he pretends to be.

[attr="class","jayden"]Gavin's an excellent cook, and his pokemon are just as good as aides in the kitchen, so it's not any surprise that the eevee pancake is formed within seconds. Jayden's own Gothitelle returns from his rounds tending to the other custoemrs, just in time, because the boy calls to him with a sharp click underneath his breath.

[break][break] "Put the finishing touches on, if you would."

[break][break] Surely enough, the psychic pokemon steps back and then flashes out dashes of bright red light. Using FLATTER he puts the final touches onto the treat, before sliding it towards the appropriate patron.

[break][break] The crowd claps with glee.

[break][break] Jayden takes care to spill the batter into the pan as he fries the waffles for the next dish, though they're a bit crisp by the time he sends them down towards his teammates' pokemon to deal with.

Evidently the wisest of the gathered Pokemon, an Oranguru offers to INSTRUCT the others for the next set of orders. Gavin, quietly relieved at the chance to take a break, washes his hands in the sink and leans against the counter.

A Chatot SINGS upon a windowsill, threatening to put Gavin to sleep.

He's never had to work a fast-food job before. His feet are starting to ache.

For the Chocolate Cake, Hatterene and Butterfree scatter their MAGIC POWDER and POLLEN PUFFS. Gavin's Alcremie, never returned to her ball after a prior order, chirps along with the Chatot as she cheerfully decorates the cake with little clover-shaped mints and dollops of cream.

[attr="class","jayden"]when the bouncy brionne soda is nearly complete, it's jayden's spoink that takes to center stage. odin's pearl gleams bright as he uses bounce to toss the items into the air in a sparkling display, letting the bubbles within the drink float to the service just enough, and then have them land perfectly in front of the patrons who ordered them.

[break][break] meanwhile, lugh gets to work preparing the other dish. he uses psychic to gather the ingredients in front of Cillian Quinn and his pokemon. jayden does quick work at washing the dishes that are returned to them, so they can prepare for the next set of orders.
