The sound of a knife clattering against the metal floor reverberated through her mind as she struggled against Cillian Quinn and Chu-e Choi at first, the rambunctious girl was giving them a hard time until her mother, Madeleine Miro arrived, afterwards that was it. [break][break]

The scene now cuts to the group walking into the laboratory, the once rebellious melody now eerily quiet and lifeless. Her mother's mind manipulations making her helpless to fight back. She sat down obediently on the chair in the lab that had straps, her voluntarily strapping herself in to restrain herself.[break][break]

She was starting to resist it, her mouth moving in whispers "Let..me..go.." she struggled to speak as her body shook slightly as she was fighting it back now. She knew what was coming next.

Even though Melody Miro was doing it herself, psychic energy pulsed to help strap her in a bit faster.

Chu-e rubbed at the front of his neck, the most shallow of cuts there. Just an accident, if anything. Not like it could hurt him now.

A few pokeballs were taken from his hip. Two of the pokemon released were the Galarian versions of Slowking and Slowbro. The last, most important, was a shiny Malamar. It chattered softly.

"Bring me an empty syringe and some gloves."

Normally friendly, Chu-e's face was cold, tone flat. All business, the kind of crispness that Cillian Quinn would remember from the small tiff they had.

Chu-e Choi and Gavin are equals, and this plan had involved the both of them, yet there's a certain level of deference in the way Gavin's attention snaps to the other underboss when he barks out an order.

Skin prickles and stomach churns, imagery of crystalline tendrils dancing in his mind's eye.

It's been a long time since he'd feared Chu-e. In the time since the former Beast's return, they've become more like brothers.

Gavin disguises his anxieties beneath a stern, somber countenance — yet still, he retrieves the desired items and delivers them to the other.

He should feel bad for Melody Miro. He's been through this before. Perhaps it shows subtly in the way he never turns his back on the Malamar, though he knows it's not meant for him. To Gavin, this room is too small, the air stifling.

He doesn't speak, only observes.

"What.." she said looking around as her eyes franticly scanned around the room as her body stayed eeriely stiff. He wrists tied down by the straps but still resisting with every ounce and fiber in her being. However her mind is in such a state of disarray she was helpless in this situation. "What are...you doing...let me go ji-hoon..please.." she begged him, those people he talked about hating so much who were corrupted was right in front of her. [break][break]

"Re..rememeber what we...we talked about" she said between some exaggerated breathes as the stinging cold air of the lab filled her lungs as she looked at her mother with hateful eyes. "B-bad...P.." she said losing strength "People...monsters.."

A small nod to Cillian Quinn in thanks as the gloves were slipped on, snapped into place. The syringe is next. He nods to his pair of Slowbro and Slowking, the Galarian duo offering up their potent toxins. With steady hands, they're drawn into the vial, crudely mixed, and then any air squeezed from the tip.

"Please relax." Approaching Melody Miro, Chu-e lifted up her sleeve to poke her with the needle, injecting it slowly. The medicine would burn but no more than any other shot that Melody had received in her life. Over in an instant and pulled away.

"This will make her easier to manipulate." Which was true, but not the whole truth. It was also a small mercy, a kindness that Chu-e would not speak of. The mix of toxins was more to soothe her, make sure the process didn't hurt, keep her mind strong under the duress it was going to be given. One that any good Rocket wouldn't give, but Chu-e never claimed to be a good Rocket.

"Miro, there should be a metronome in one of the drawers. Will you start it?" This order meant for Madeleine Miro only because she was closer.

Tight-lipped, Del did as instructed. The click of her heels on the floor echoed as she moved over to the desk. Del quickly rifled through the drawers. This is why she preferred her Hypno. No need to search for a metronome when your hypnotist came with one. [break][break]

After a tense moment of silence, she found what she was looking for behind a bunch of junk. As she sauntered over to Chu-e with the metronome held loosely in his hand, she frowned. [break][break]

"You're sure this is going to work?" sneering, she glanced in its direction. "We can't use it if it's broken."

"I said to use it, not bring it over." Chu-e muttered, at Madeleine Miro, but his eyes didn't leave Melody Miro. Honestly, he seemed to be ignoring most of what was happening outside of her, including her own chatter. He would wait until whenever she listened to his order, the measured 'click click click' starting up.

A quick whistle.

"S t o p."

A pulse of psychic energy, and Melody's world would darken. Only Chu-e's eyes, glowing, as the mental effects would start to take place, lull her into something like being asleep while awake.

"You need to relax, Melody. That will just make this harder." Almost gentle.

To those outside, it would just look like Chu-e was talking normally, his Malamar pulsing with Psychic energy.

She blinked. Chu-e Choi had said to start the metronome, hadn't he? Pardon her for not wanting to do something she usually left to the Pokemon. Regardless, she started the device and said nothing to her daughter.
