chuckling softly, he extends a hand accompanied by a friendly smile.

his attention swiftly turns to the wild medicham. no order needs to be given for virizion to send her MAGICAL LEAVES across. they're met with an immediate FIRE PUNCH that scorches through the MAGICAL LEAVES, rendering them useless only to come crashing against a shield of PROTECT.

the impact makes matias take a step back, watching as virizion brings her horn across for a LEAF BLADE. it's enough to injure the medicham, setting it up to be easily captured.

The League could probably benefit from teaching their representatives a thing or two about public relations, or so Mars thinks when hearing Matias’ response. Then again, maybe they do, and maybe MATIAS SILPH is just an idiot.

Glancing at the Inkay that follow him, he nods, and the two little Revolving Pokémon move closer to their target. The veil of HYPNOSIS is spread upon their surrounds, and the Rotom falls, swiftly being incapacitated by a NIGHT SLASH in its slumber.

A pokéball is thrown, although it’s a shame it's not a pokémon Mars cares much for. Especially not when he’s here with a specific purpose.

Only then it is that his attention returns to the Elite Four member.

it's said with almost absolute certainty that they'll cross paths again because that seems to be the common theme here in hoenn. maybe they'll meet again in the hot springs of lavardige, who knows?

either way, his attention is pulled away again by the wild duosion that floats into the area. no command needs to be given for virizion to close the distance, slashing across with her LEAF BLADE. it retaliates with an ENDEAVOR but it's in vain, sadly, as a pokeball quickly consumes it.

"the meditite's yours."

Mars smirks, a simple nod towards the Meditite directing his Inkay’s attention at it. This time, only one of them attacks, the tiny squid twirling in the air and releasing a surprisingly powerful PSYBEAM that’s aimed directly at the meditating dual type.

That’s all it takes.
[break][break]
CONFUSION’s mark makes itself clear the moment the Meditite opens its eyes, an attempt at retaliating with a DRAINING PUNCH only resulting with it causing itself harm when the Inkay easily avoids the strike by floating upwards.

A pokéball is chucked towards it.

”So, out of curiosity, just here to beat up random wildlife or are you looking for anything in particular?”

"looking for unowns, mostly, so if we see one, dibs."

surely the esteemed martín del mar would heed to the rules of dibs when the time comes. if he doesn't, then it just speaks for the kind of person he is.

until then, an AIR CUTTER slices through the air, catching virizion off guard. she lets out a soft yelp as she turns her attention toward the approaching sigilyph. a swarm of MAGICAL LEAVES fly out towards it, blinding it for a moment which allows her to leap up to slash her LEAF BLADE across one of its wings, which injures it enough to send it plummeting down to earth.

a pokeball smacks against it before it hits the ground, saving it from pain.

"you?"

This is a cutthroat world, and things like ‘dibs’ are for little kids.

Stll, Mars laughs lightly at the words, even if it's a complete mystery if he will actually heed and respect them or not.

As it has become quite obvious with his recent visits to Mt. Pyre and its surroundings, Unown are incredibly elusive; almost as if the fates themselves were against them in this quest to reveal all the mysteries of that strange app. That’s the reason Matias is looking for Unown too, right? Why else would he look for them at this time?

Mars would ask, but before he can say anything, it's as if the temperature suddenly drops around them. An orb of phantasmagoric energy is shot towards one of the Inkay, causing it to almost fall to the ground. Almost, because the second one catches it, allowing it to shake off the attack and soon retaliate aiming a powered up PAYBACK in the direction of his attacker.

There’s a pained sound, the effects of the super effective move giving the Drakloak no choice but to make itself visible. It is then when, without wasting a single second, it's hit with HYPNOSIS, falling asleep on the spot.

Naturally, Mars throws a pokéball.

but then again, unown are incredibly hard to find, so the fact that he hasn't encountered any from his recent visits to mount pyre isn't surprising.

it is, however, slightly frustrating.

virizion shifts, disappearing into a green blur before slashing across the wild girafarig with her LEAF BLADE, catching it off guard. it returns a DOUBLE KICK that seems to simply graze off her fur, allowing her to maintain the close distance for another LEAF BLADE.

A resting Slowpoke cries out in pain when hit with a PSYBEAM, maybe because of the attack and maybe because of the confusing headache that can come with it. As per usual, a NIGHT SLASH follows in perfect synchronization. Mars throws a pokémon.
