mr. mime (m) filter - psychic, dazzling gleam, mimic, safeguard, teeter dance, protect

it's a shame matias goes first in the posting order.

and look! an inkay. how convenient.

one LEAF BLADE from virizion is all it takes to down the poor inkay. it falls to the ground, landing splat.

matias is pulled away by a FUTURE SIGHT, however, as a hypno launches its NASTY PLOT towards virizion. mr. mime springs into action, blocking it with a PROTECT while virizion turns, charges, and ends the battle with a flashy LEAF BLADE

a pokeball follows.

Mars doesn’t care much for most pokémon, he barely cares about the ones in his own team, but there’s something deeply unsettling about watching the Inkay fall to the ground after being practically sliced up by a LEAF BLADE.

he was just busy fighting with the hypno.

regardless, he sighs, dismissing his frustrations.

"it's fine. just make sure you take it to the pokemon center after."

and with that, he offers a friendly smile before turning to see a shuppet falling to the ground, likely being taken down by virizion's LEAF BLADE.

Maybe, but also being a greedy bastard himself, it could be said that Mars isn’t very appreciative of people who are wasteful and who don’t take all their chances. Also, he doesn’t like seeing Inkay suffering, but that’s just a personal preference.

virizion springs forward right as a MISTY TERRAIN floats off the ground, though it's not nearly enough to stop the LEAF BLADE from connecting. not even the gardevoir's HEAL PULSE could save it from being captured by a pokeball.

in all honesty, matias is likely not going ever rely on the gardevoir too much, but it's always a nice addition to have. with some of his strongest pokemon known to the public, he needs to have a few tricks up his sleeve.

tricks, like what the wild banette is known for.

with a precise LEAF BLADE, the banette stumbles, struggling to resist the pokeball that consumes it in one.

Paying little mind to whatever Matias might be up to, Mars’ gaze falls on the sight of pink mist nearby, all too easily recognizing it as that of a Musharna. He has a few of them, after all, and a particular one that is rather helpful to deal with those nightmare-filled nights of his (except when it decides to give him and his boyfriend even more nightmares, that is).

It’s without any hostile intent that he approaches, allowing the Musharna’s mist to surround him and staying there for a few seconds before reaching for a pokéball...

this one's easy to ignore, however, as he simply looks away while the psychic-type passes through, minding its own business.

he looks down and notices his shoe laces are untied, so he kneels down to fix that, completely missing the mismagius that shows up.

Usually, when running into a pokémon Mars doesn’t really care much for, he’d have the decency to do the person he’s with the courtesy of asking if they want to catch it instead. Too bad Matias has done nothing to deserve such courtesies, and so Mars feels no remorse when looking at his Gardevoir and nodding towards the Mismagius.

The latter tries to ASTONISH the Gardevoir with its eerie aura, but FUTURE SIGHT has prepared Clotho for what’s coming, and the attack with which she retaliates is not a joke in the slightest.
