Some would claim that there is much about the foggy heights of Mt. Pyre that is eerie and unwelcoming, for it’s the souls of countless pokémon that rest (or don’t rest) within the mountain. The banker, however, has never been one to care for the ‘spooky’ and ‘creepy’ and out of all things in this world, the last he would ever fear are spectres.

It’s not ghosts that cause the most harm, but the living.
[break][break]
No doubt finds his heart when climbing up one of the familiar yet not often travelled mountain paths, and while still wearing his nice ‘POG Bank CEO’ suit after a long day of work, it’s with a cup of coffee in his hands that he sets out to do exactly what he has been doing ever since first learning about the Unown Report: try find Unown. Since, despite his own caution regarding its content and its purpose, mysteries don't suit Mars at all.

And so, he walks.

Not even bothering with calling a pokémon to his side. For, there's no need for it. Not yet, at least.

Sen seemed to be calmer in this kind of environment, even though Izzy had wondered at first if it might make him uncomfortable - to be dead and surrounded by more dead? Wouldn't it just remind you that you were, like... dead? Either way, the little ghost floated around from tombstone to tombstone, from grass patch to grass patch, enjoying his time up on the mountain.[break][break]

Izzy didn't mind it much - ghost stories and things had never really frightened him, though fog and darkness was something uncommon after living in two big cities where lights never seemed to go out. There were usually wild pokemon hanging about, sometimes other trainers or civilians paying respects or looking to chat. Izzy could deal with it - he didn't enjoy the chat, per se, but he wouldn't deny it was sometimes... nice. Graveyards and the like tended to bring all kinds of people, which made for some interesting people-watching.[break][break]

...He didn't expect, however, to encounter, uh... the dude from his bank's commercials? Like, seriously, the dude who was on the tv ads sometimes? Wasn't there literally a poster of him at the bank? The suit made it obvious - the suit that looked like it was worth more alone than all the money Izzy had made in his life. For a split, split second, Izzy half-toyed with the idea of mugging him. Not in a bad way, just, y'know... arceus, it'd be nice to have that kind of money.[break][break]

Izzy was more than fine to leave Mr Bank well enough alone, though Sen had other ideas - floating over to him and giving him what could be read as a ghostly one-eyed no-mouthed smile. It kind of felt weird, now, to have a pokemon that actually, uh... didn't want to bite people. Myszko's pokeball seemed to twitch in his bag just at the thought.[break][break]

While he has never been one to care for specializing in Ghost type pokémon, Mars knows all too well how often they can be misunderstood. Some people fear them, others even dread them, and while there’s certainly some of these pokémon that can be mischievous and even malicious, for the most part, they seem to just want to do their own thing.

His Froslass likes to dance and twirl around in the snow, his Cursola enjoys chilling in the water as if it remembers what it was like to once not be a ghost, his Dhelmise seems to love watching his schools of Wishiwashi swim, and the Duskull that approaches him at Mt Pyre on this particular day...

Well…

Apparently it's a fan of meeting new people, and really, who could blame it? Mars is an amazing person to meet.
[break][break]
”Hey there.” A faint smile is offered to the pokémon, recognizing that it means no harm, and soon enough, as if to confirm this, its trainer appears telling it to leave Mars alone. Interesting. He takes a sip from his coffee, amber-coloured gaze falling on the newcomer. ”Don’t worry about it, I don’t mind.” With these words, he gives a smile; confident and charming, the kind that could be almost called the CEO’s patented brand.

What he does mind, however, is the wild Metang that suddenly appears, not seeming very all too happy to find them in its territory. Naturally, Mars sighs, although his expression shows no signs of annoyance. He's calm. ”You might want to take a step back.”

A Luxury Ball is thrown, and from it, emerges a Noivern of teal-coloured scales. The command given to it is a simple one:

”Urania, get rid of it.”
[break][break]
And so the Noivern does with a WHIRLWIND, blowing the Metang away.

Meanwhile, Mars simply smooths down his suit jacket as if nothing just happened.

Izzy's so preoccupied with not wanting to embarrass himself - or his Duskull - in front of this wild rich guy who's hanging around graves, he doesn't even notice the pair of pokemon that, agitated, stumble out from the undergrowth. He's rolled up in that smile, the kind of smile that comes so easily, like breathing - the kind of smile that turned up on tv or on posters, that businessmen like this guy often had. [break][break]It was also the kind of smile that Izzy wasn't uncommon with seeing, for example, in Team Rocket - people dripping with endless charm and gold that it couldn't help but leak out from their teeth in the same way that Mars, before him, did.[break][break]

Reminded him of people richer than him. Reminded him of sharks. He wished he could have felt any kind of warmth to it.[break][break]

"Oh, yeah? Okay, well-- that's good, I just didn't-" and then, with the stranger pointing out something about needing to move out the way, and the sudden appearance of a - shiny? - Noivern, that was when Izzy noticed the encroaching pair. A Metang focused on his conversational partner and a Banette that, a little further away, was facing him, instead. With the warning, he had time to pull out a pokeball and throw it at the approaching ghost, while Sen was still too far away to be of much use.[break][break]

At this point, it’s all as if part of a strange routine.

He has spent long enough at Mount Pyre to know what to expect when it comes to the wild pokémon that inhabit the mountain, and perhaps that’s exactly why he chose to bring along a pokémon that knows WHIRLWIND out of all moves. It just makes things easier, doesn’t it?

Mars has never been one to appreciate needlessly wasting time, and he certainly has better things to do than idly standing around at a creepy mountain.
[break][break]
And yet, here he is: idly standing around at a creepy mountain.
[break][break]
'You.'
[break][break]
The word distracts him from his train of thought, eating at him as it often seems to do.
[break][break]
”Yeah, he’s fine.” A step is taken to keep walking down the path, but Mars finds himself immediately pausing once more, for the ground ahead shifts as if it were alive. Sand. A small shovel makes the presence of the Sandygast all too obvious, even if the fact that it’s out here, so far from the beach, is all too strange to him.

Mars decides not to ponder on it, and turning to look at his Noivern, he simply nods towards the wild pokémon.

There’s a powerful DRAGON PULSE, and this time, he throws a pokéball.
[break][break]
”Are you here to catch pokémon, by the way?” There's still an all too calm smile, and honey-coloured eyes fall on the stranger once more, this time as if inspecting him from head to toe.

With a little nod of understanding, the little ghost rumbled a deep rumble back at the man it floated by the legs of, as though attempting some ghostly form of a purr. Sen made his calm way back to the side of his trainer, now satisfied with having made a new friend.[break][break]

Izzy himself continued to walk too, awkward little steps where he was overthinking not wanting to look like he was creeping on this guy, but also, since they were talking, he didn’t want to just walk off and seem rude.[break][break]

”Eh-- not specifically, but yeah, kind of. Mostly just here for Sen . And a chance to take a walk, I guess.” It was true, after all - he’d come out all this way just to try and help the little Duskull from being so down. Was that stupidity, then, instead of just finding somewhere suitable closer? Maybe it was something weird like love or care. [break][break]

The Gothita was wandering, it seemed, half-lost, when Izzy noticed it and gently pushed Sen towards it with a quick aside of ”Go make a friend”, which Sen dutifully did with a harmless CONFUSE RAY[break][break]

”What about you, then? You don’t seem the type, y’know...?” To what? To... go to a graveyard? Anybody could do that, Izzy, come on. ”I mean- like- to just be... out here. And stuff”

"Uh- I didn't mean, I meant, eh-" There was something about his face that reminded him of work. Of that don't fuck up vibe that all his superiors gave off at all times. "Sorry, I didn't mean anything by it, I was just... speaking without thinking, I guess..."[break][break]

Izzy's attention is drawn at the same time as Mars', but not to the gentle windchime tinkling, and instead to the faint creak from behind him, like a coffin door. Or, more specifically, a Sarcophagus. The COFAGRIGUS seems shy, barely poking it's eyes out from around a large tree, it's ghostly hands gripping to the bare branches like a child to it's parent's clothing. [break][break]

Sen acted before Izzy even told him to, floating over and LEERING, to the point where the COFAGRIGUS seemed like it might burst into tears. Taking advantage of it's weakened state, Izzy throws a Pokeball its way.[break][break]

"Oh? Right, yeah, sorry- I'm Izzy. Hey, I'm heading down the mountain now, do you..." He makes eye contact in a sudden moment of confidence, then immediately loses it when Izzy finds those amber eyes staring back at him, focusing on his feet instead. "W-well, either way, I'm heading down. You can follow, if you want, or whatever?" [break][break]

And off he goes, wanting to die a little as he hears the taller man's footsteps indeed following behind him.
