Wasn’t this the same Nuzleaf who’d come streaking by earlier…?

“What the…?” he trailed off, looking at the dual-type that shot by in a blur. That was… really weird, if he was being honest with himself.

He then placed his left hand on his chin and pretended to adapt the ‘thinking’ pose, complete with imaginary beard and all.

“That was… really strange.”

venusaur (f) overgrow - sleep powder, vine whip, worry seed, seed bomb, solar beam, take down

zarude (-) leaf guard - power whip, hammer arm, jungle healing, synthesis, grass knot, bind

piplup (m) torrent - fury attack, drill peck, whirlpool, growl

matias calls out his piplup, deciding it might be best for the water-type to get a bit of fresh air. who would've known it'd come up against a gliscor so soon? a gliscor that knows THUNDER FANG, no less.

thankfully, zarude saves piplup from a terrible fate.

"get it!"

flames engulf gliscor as its FIRE FANGS glow, but zarude is quick to slam it down with a POWER WHIP. one pokeball later, and it's done.

To be perfectly fair, the next Shroomish that came by kind of looked like a sparkling tinsel orb that could be hung on a pine tree—if one counted the fact that the multiple dustings of what he guessed were noxious and potent powders and spores equivalent to ‘holiday glitter’ in that context.

“Huh,” he blinked, quickly pulling out some Pokéfood from the paper bag and rolling it in the Shroomish’s direction. “Go on, get going!”

He already had a Breloom, after all.

grotle! another entry for the sinnoh part of his pokedex.

alexei's wheelchair rolls to a stop while zarude busies itself with handling the wild grotle. its POWER WHIP is met with grotle's BITE, but the grass-type isn't nearly strong enough to break through zarude's thickness.

up, and down.

grotle faints.

Unfortunately the next thing that comes by—well, things that come by if he was looking to be thematically correct—

He already had both of them, in some capacity.

He had to take a second look at the Leavanny, though—why did it look like it had a flower crown topped with roses and lilies? That was really cute, though.

Anyway…

Before the Leavanny left, he rolled some more Pokéfood in its direction. Have some food on the journey!

matias also has both of the wild pokemon owned in some capacity, so he decides to skip them as well. but he's drawn to the same thing alexei is. the flower crown atop leavanny's head is really cute.

but where alexei rolls food over, matias just tosses it, graceless.

The next thing that catches his attention is a—

The loud screeching noise from on high alerted him that the Braviary was coming in for a dive-bomb maneuver, and he barely had time to shield his eyes as a Rufflet was now riffling its feathers (heh) and challenging the incoming blue-plumed avian to a battle.

What was it with the Rufflet line being all reckless hot-headed idiots, anyway?!

The two avians met—a Crush Claw smashing head-on into an incoming Aerial Ace attack, and for a few moments the two began squabbling and showing off their claws, so to speak.

Oy.

“What the fuck!” he exclaimed as his Braviary then Honed its Claws while the Rufflet lashed out with another Crush Claw attack.

“Geez,” he grumbled as he massaged the sides of his head and watched the two avians duke it out, screeching bloody murder at each other before the Braviary had decided enough was enough and dragged the equally-stubborn Rufflet into the skies with a Sky Drop attack; crashing down on the ground a few moments later.

“Yeesh.”

Another Pokéball is thrown at the downed Rufflet.

The living tree then approached, sniffing the air. While Alexei ignored the Bounsweet’s whining on his lap, the Tropius continued to sniff at the offered treats before snatching it up and flying away.
