it's only then, as he's still recovering from the blow, that he notices the empty bucket. he can't help but laugh at that.

"i guess we really are going to be out here all day."

the bucket is painfully empty and abandoned in the dirt. the miltanks, too, have moved on from the commotion to chew at more grass.

"fuck," she groans, cheeks puffing in irritation. her eyes narrow at him, almost accusatory. "that's your fault too." he did, after all, dump the entire bucket on her.

and then, she's shifting to release him, uncurling her arms to reach to the side for the bucket.

naturally, he questions, but it's soon dismissed with a breathy chuckle. because, sure, he did dump the entire bucket on her, but who started it?

when she releases him, he shifts up to sit instead, looking around them to notice the miltanks have shifted a bit away from them.

"i seem to remember the bucket being half full, so get to it, illie."

the tease comes with a smirk, though he's quite serious about it.

"yes," she settles half of her weight on her toes, kneeling in front of him with the bucket now in hand. and when he opens his mouth next, she has half a mind to smack him with it.

the look on her face is unamused.

"no. absolutely not." and really, she tries to ignore the urge for another fight. it's hard to overcome but she just barely manages. "you dumped the bucket all over me so you can replace it."

meanwhile, she'll sit here and look pretty. it's what she does best.

trained hands go to work, squeezing out milk into the bucket below. it's a slow and ardous process, though it soon fills up to about half, which is when he finally decides to look over his shoulder.
