the concept makes her pause, makes her consider. and realistically, one thought shouldn't stick out among the rest but it does. maybe it always will.

she sinks her teeth into it and turns it into a weapon, prodding him slightly with the sharp end of a pole arm.

"you want to see me again?" it's asked in a curious manner, halfway between a statement and a question. should she be surprised? flattered? the result is a mixture of emotions that she can't sort out.

"if i'm requested, i can't exactly say no." and would she say no anyway? no, something tells her she wouldn't.

it would've bene easier, less painful, for the both of them if he were to just correct her then, to clarify that it wouldn't be a date. it couldn't be. but all he does is nod, dooming them as he returns her smile.
