as the battle around them dies down, he takes a moment to gather his thoughts, to compose himself, and he sighs by the end of it.

maybe he hasn't been the most supportive brother to her.

he looks away at nothing in particular.

It wasn't just him - the entire Silph clan had let her down. Slowly, and then all at once.

It was why she had chosen to reclaim her birth mother's name, why she had begun to detach herself from the Silph name. Still apart of them, but separate.

"Me too."

She swallows, but never lets her attention stray back to him. She finds whatever distraction she can - and this time it is a Slowbro. Although not nearly as beautiful or captivating as the Milotic, an innate urge to collect urges her to engage it. Wadjet repeats the process she had with Milotic- except this time she is able to pull the Slowbro from the water and drop it on the ground.

After a brief pummelling, Stormy moves to catch it.

"I know we will."

they will. all it takes is patience, which is a trait matias doesn't often possess. but he knows, since arriving in hoenn, that patience is often the best course of action.

the two pokemon that show up are ignored by him. he's here looking for something else, not repeats.

Her brother's silence comes as a relief. Not that she despises him in any way, because she doesn't. She never had, even if she'd wanted to.

In that silence, she finds comfort.

And it is what draws her to the quiet pop of an Abra manifesting into existence. Before it has a chance to do so again and to flee, Stormy throws a pokeball at it. Hopefully, her agility and attention to detail secures the catch, as a teleporting Pokemon could be quite useful.

he, too, finds comfort in the silence that befalls them.

it's interrupted by a HYDRO PUMP that smacks into sceptile. the grass-type turns, sees the frogadier, and leaps in its direction to slash its LEAF BLADE across its chest. it's more than enough to down the water-type.

"behind you!"

a gardevoir appears behind stormy, ready to plant its DRAINING KISS against her neck.

She isn't fast enough, because how could she be? How do humans compare to the strength and speed of Pokemon?

Matias shouts at her, her eyes widen, but unfamiliar lips brush her skin. It saps at her strength immediately, leaving her faint. Her knees tremble and give out, she crashes to the ground and exhales, but even that takes all of her strength.

Above her, the Gardevoir looms, sinister and enraged. But why? Was there some sort of unknown disturbance in the area?

Wadjet roars, startled by her trainers fall and fully prepared to defend her. SHADOW CLAWS rend, striking the Gardevoir's back and causing her to crumble as well. Pokemon and trainer lie in a heap on the ground, but Stormy is slowly rising to pull herself to her knees. Her face is pale and she shivers.

Wadjet growls to make sure the Gardevoir does not get back up.

matias is quick to rush to his sister's side. he slides to a halt, kneeling down beside her as he reaches out for her.

"stormy..."

she's weak, as if her energy's been sapped away.

a pokeball bursts open, and from it comes a HEAL PULSE.

meanwhile, sceptile busies itself with a gothita, LEAF BLADING it into submission. a pokeball is rolled over its way.

She hits the ground hard, her tailbone aching. With a gasp, she leans forward to hold her head in the palm of her hand, groaning at the wooziness she's experiencing. Fortunately, the Gardevoir is no longer a threat.

Matias is quick to come to her aid, reaching out for her. The subtle rays of a heal pulse take away her headache and nausea and gives her a chance to catch her breath. The woman leans into her brothers touch, using him to help her stable herself.

"I'm fine. Just a slip. My ass got the worst of it."

As if to rub salt in the wound, a Mareanie hopes to kick the woman while she's down. Fortunately, Wadjet is quicker this time in defending her trainer, swooping past to flip the poisonous creature on its back before it had a chance to injure the woman. One puff of fire leaves it roasted, and Stormy would ultimately catch it, too, when she caught her breath.

the smell of roasted mareanie isn't pleasant. matias waves his hand, doing his best to clear the smell before helping stormy back up to her feet.

"yeah, you're fine."

she's been through worse.

"looked like a rough fall."
