It was time to pay a visit to Martín del Mar.

Why? Well, Chu-e hadn't gotten time to have a chat with the man after he was made an Admin. Chu-e hadn't gotten to do much of anything lately with how much was heaped on his plate.

A knock on the admin's office door.

"I'm coming in!" A polite-enough warning before Chu-e just barged in. If Mars was caught with his pants down it wasn't Chu-e's concern. Whatever he saw the other doing, Chu-e just smiled and stepped inside. A large Starmiebucks coffee was in hand, one of those extra sweet ones with lots of caramel and whipped cream, which Chu-e sat down as some type of peace offering before flopping down on a spare chair (if he could find one).

"Mr. Del Mar!" A manilla folder was plopped on his desk. "Looks like someone is trying to rob you blind." Said much cheerier than one normally would.

Fortunately for both Mars and Chu-e, he didn’t have his pants down when the underboss suddenly opened the door. He was, however, taking a short break and looking at his phone while absentmindedly tossing a small ball for the Meowth that would run to retrieve it as if it were a dog.

Unfortunately for them, there's one last toss just as Chu-e announces his presence, and of course the colourful yet harmless crinkle ball hits him right in the chest when he opens the door. Whoops.

”Underboss Choi, to what do I owe the pleasure?” Naturally, Mars acts as if nothing just happened, smiling with that unshakable confidence of his – as if he weren’t surprised by the other’s presence or wondering why the hell he’s in his office today.

The answer comes in the form of a statement and a manila folder, and Mars quirks a brow just as the pink-tailed Meowth jumps on the spare chair next to the one taken by Chu-e.

”Is that so? Me or Team Rocket?”

An important distinction, although thieves always suffer the same fate… Except for the ones that work for them, obviously.

Chu-e is so used to being covered in cat toys that he is immune to them. Luckily for Martín del Mar, he absolutely does not care that the crinkle ball whacks him.

"You!" But, before Chu-e elaborates, he's instantly distracted by the Meowth that takes a seat next to him. He does a little 'sktsktsktsktskt' and offers his hand in case it wants to take a sniff. If he's lucky, maybe even get a few pets in. "She's so cute! Oh, her fur is so shiny!" Which meant a well fed, well cared for kitty.

It was only after Chu-e finished trying to pet the cat that he would elaborate, turning back to Mars.

"Intel picked up that a small group is going to try and rob your bank located in Mauville tonight." Chu-e hadn't done anything about it just yet since he wanted Mars' opinion on it. But a fair warning seemed nice.

As her name may so cleverly imply, Cash Money the Meowth happens to be POG Bank’s favourite mascot. She appears in just about all of their ads, and perhaps because of how she has been trained for such a purpose, she also happens to be incredibly friendly – even towards strangers! So, when Chu-e offers his hand to her, the way she rubs her cheek against it after sniffing it for a short moment is only expected.

”She’s cute, huh? She usually keeps me company at my office in Slateport, so it felt wrong not to have her here with me.” It’s either her or Dollar, but the Persian isn’t as used to the submarine as his counterpart.

Counterpart who, by the way, distracts herself by watching the rolling Spheal on the computer’s screensaver when Chu-e’s attention returns to the banker.

”Mauville? Brave choice, since then they don’t only have to deal with the bank’s security, but also the city’s.” A foolish choice, as trying to rob the bank would always be. Although, it is admittedly a great way for him to remind the public how good they are at keeping their money safe. Unlike their competition, who don’t deal with robberies all that well (a couple of which may or may have not been staged by Mars himself).

”I’ll make sure the bank is prepared, thank you for the heads up. Do you know who this group is?”

"See, that's the rub of it." Flipping the folder open, Chu-d pulls out a few papers. A mousy woman with glasses who looks more like an accountant's picture is taken out. Then, a rotund man who looks like a cheery grandpa. "You recognize this woman?" And Martín del Mar might, since it was one the managers at that branch of the bank.

"Reportedly, she's in on it. And this guy." He pointed at the fat guy. "He works for The City of Mauville. Think they're trying to Ocean's Eleven you with a group called 'Tindalos'." Leaning back, Chu-e grinned and crossed his hands over his lap.

"So, what's the plan?" And even thought Chu-e smiled and seemed perfectly peachy- Mars might get some sense that this might be some sort of test.

Knowing the managers of each of POG Bank’s branches is of importance, and as such, the woman’s face is one he recognizes easily enough. The man’s face, however, is not, nor does he know about the group referred to as “Tindalos”.

Naturally, none of these things show in Mars’ expression, that perfect calm of his remaining undisturbed as he listens to the story spun by Chu-e Choi. Ocean’s Eleven. If this group were any real threat, there’s no way they’d have this much information on them, which means only one thing…

It’s a test.

”The plan?” He repeats, as if he were unsure of what Chu-e means, yet his gaze meets that of the underboss, his fingers laced together over the desk. ”Emptying the vault and transferring its content would be costly and time consuming, plus it would alert these “would-be thieves” of our suspicions and even put the bank at greater risk of being robbed. In cases like these information can be used as an advantage, and so can the security protocols we have previously established. Say, for example... Feeding different lies to different people would help determine if anyone else is involved, as well as lay down a trap for our thieves to fall right into.” There's a slight smile at this, a nonchalant shrug accompanying it.

Outsmarting people is generally how Mars likes to go about things. He likes effective and efficient plans – ever the perfectionist.

Chu-e was already smiling before, but Martín del Mar would see as his smile cracks from the false and practiced thing to a genuine one the more he speaks. Well, whatever was happening here, Mars had probably passed the test. If this even was one.

"I like you." Is what he finally replied with. Followed by a short laugh. If Mars looked close into his mouth (but that would be kind of weird), he would see something shiny and black at the back of his throat. "You'd made a good counter intelligence agent."

"Not enough people in this organization appreciate doing shit the smart way." He waved a hand, pouting at some straw-man for this situation. "So! What are we feeding people? This is your circus but I'll be one of your clowns for now."
