like many things in his life, how he got here would prove to be an absolute mystery. but the fact that remain was that he was still here, in this mysterious teahouse. he had been mingling along with the rest of the residents — though perhaps mingling might have been the wrong word, considering jayden was hardly an expert in social interaction.

[break][break] he was dressed in a black suit accented with a purple tie, not unlike the one he had worn during the star soiree. there is a small badge by his breast, reading michail volkov. by his side was his umbreon, who looks curiously at all the passer-by waiters, staring earnestly at one in particular who seemed to be carrying a tray of delicious pokemon treats.

[break][break] when the maître d'hôtel wanders up to him and explains the rules, he frowns. he turns around to the others in this small group - two of which he briefly recognize - and look to them for some insight. "any ideas?"

It's an exciting day.

This was Gabrielle's first official challenge, and the first time she's worked with other trainers. Nothing could top the bubbling feeling growing inside her chest. The decoration was splendid, making it seem that they really were in kalos. Gabrielle wore a light purple dress, her hair braided elegantly.

Listening politely as her teammates discuss a potential team name. She too was in favor of cinderaces, it was fun, creative and cinderace was a great pokemon. "I also think CinderACES is good, but.." Gabrielle wanted to pitch in her own suggestion, recently she's been obsessed with a band called 4-town.


"How about 4townies?" She suggests with lighthearted laughter.

[attr="class","littlejay"] if there's one thing he notices about Toshiaki Macallan in all the time they've been apart, it's how tall he is. genetics were kind to some, kinder to others.

[break][break] at least, there's one thing that hasn't change about his childhood friend, and it's the eagerness in which he does - well - anything. this simple task included.

[break][break] violet eyes shift towards the listed items, deciding on the easier of the two tasks, and plucks the mental herb from the pile. as the other start listing their ideas, jayden finds his gaze drifting to his teammates. he nods his head at Gwyar Wledig as the other introduces himself, vaguely recognizing him from the hst. "michail volkov," he introduces himself. "heir of wyndon cross pharmacuticals. pleased to meet your acquaintances."

[break][break] all the ideas were good, but...

[break][break] "i like 4townies," he says, pausing. "did i say that right?" jayden decides to state the obvious. "there are four of us."

[break][break] of course, he has no idea of the band.

[attr="class","littlejay"] music has never been a keen interest of his but he shifts closer to gabrielle black anyways, as they take turns and listen to the track. it does little to alleviate his confusion — in fact, it seems to only feed it.

[break][break] either way Toshiaki Macallan seems to understand, and responds in turn with enthusiasm. not that jayden thought any less of his old friend - toshiaki was always better with people than he was.

[break][break] he blinks. "i... suppose so." he glances at the only other person in the room, Gwyar Wledig . jayden is filled with an odd sensation, as if the two are the only adults in the room and the other two are... not.

[break][break] they step onto the first challenge floor and are immediately greeted by a very inviting atmosphere. that is to say — not inviting at all. the roselia's spikes stretch out before them, like a very menacing blanket. his fingers reach for a pokeball, returning his umbreon and then go for another. he considers sven but a quick look at Gwyar Wledig decides otherwise. instead, he takes his hydreigon to the field.

[break][break] he climbs atop her, offering his hand to gabrielle black and to anyone else who wanted to climb aboard. thansk to the hydreigon's levitate ability, they should soar across with ease.
