A deep breath, and slow exhale calms the tight strung emotional cord that’s been threatening to snap since their original argument.

In a rather apathetic tone, she responds, “I don’t trust either of you,” She lost two people she loves. I’m alone. Isn’t that how it should be? This emptiness is what she tried to avoid before Matias gently broke down her walls.

This certainly isn’t the time or place for this conversation. But it seems over now, water under the bridge. She’s not as foolish as she may have been.

Eris isn’t the one she has to worry about hurting her, there are others with vengeful spirits as strong as Matias’s. She’s still careful around both of them, having to tip toe over the pieces of a broken heart.

the only indication he gives is the fact that he still hasn't returned his gaze. it's kept elsewhere, off to the side on nothing in particular. the pavement, maybe.[break][break]

He forces her to pause when she turns to leave. His words echo like a gong through her soul. His actions aren’t just his own. When he chose to chare a life with Eva, they became one, rather than two. Eva trusted him with more than just her life.

Practiced eyes study him, gauging the intentions behind his words. She’s not full convinced, but a good part of her does believe him. After all, they’ve been through so much together that it’s hard to just forget all of that in face of controversy.

She would have stopped him, or at least tried to talk some sense into him. He’s always been independent and stubborn, she knows this. It’s a bit foolish of her to think he’d change so much just because they finally took a step forward together.
