two small forms race past him giggling, their small hands separating as they round on either side, but connecting once again when they're clear. they converge on the sheep in small, curious "oos" and "ahs".

"Look who it is," She smiled. Traces of melchony washed from her features as she quickly snapped back to normal; energetic, laughing, with only a hint of sarcasm beneath the surface. Kneeling down, she offered the vibrant twins a small hello before looking back up. Her eyebrow cocked upward. "What're you up to?"

something in his brain tickled at him to inspect this situation deeper, but, he was honestly too burned out too. he'd accepted the situation between them, and while he considers her a friend, he still was hesitant to peer too deeply beyond the veil of that.

"taking these two for a walk," he says, shifting his attention to them and smiling slightly. "they've been a bit too excited around the house, taking turns building an electrical charge and poofing up delphox's fur. if i didn't get them out of there, there wouldn't be anything left." he finishes it off with a light laugh, one that fades after a few seconds.

the two scamper off, having found a new thing to grab their attention. when they come back with a krabby in tow — a new friend, evidently — greyson doesn't even question it. instead the newcomer collapses into scarlet light, and he raises a small eyebrow at the reporter.

A similarly light laugh slipped from her lips as she watched the two babies scamper off into the treeline. Only after their laughs had faded would her gaze travel back to him, wearily.

"Trying to look for a distraction," She admitted with a light sigh and raised shoulders, "thought some coffee could help."

It wouldn't and she knew that. But, when left to deal with the aftermath of a stressful week, what else is there to do than run to the nearest Starmiebucks.

greyson quirks an eyebrow, shifting his attention left, and then right. finally, it centers back onto the reporter.[break][break]

"distraction from what?" he didn't feel the need to tell her he didn't have any coffee on him. that would've been more disappointing, he imagines.

before he can blink, the two rat pokemon are off again. this time they come back on the back, and shoulder, of a flaaffy. it looks helpless, worried, concerned, and upset all at once. greyson stifles a horrified laugh, capturing the sheep in crimson light.

Her own moralities? Her dwindling sense of judgement? Despite these immediate thoughts that stung her mind, she knew better than to trauma dump yet again, so without consideration, they were swallowed down and replaced with a standard, "You know, the typical. Work, Hoenn, everything else."

Like his own set of rats, Remy Fritzgerald had found himself looking for trouble. Small zaps of lightening could be seen over a patch of grass, and with a ribbit and baaa, a politoad was brought to his knees. Sighing, Penelope threw out another pokeball, attempting to capture it.

he nods, releasing a tense breathe. just talk of being swamped made his muscles ache and his body feel restless.

"it has been a long few months, hasn't it?" he says with a dry, mirthless chuckle. anytime his thoughts inevitably drag back to the cluster fuck of the last few months, his energy dissipates all at once.

this time, he tries to keep a semblance of it.

he feels the hair rise on his arms, and the nape of his neck, before the light pulses. a thud signals the fall of a pokemon, paralyzed as THUNDER WAVES lock its muscles up.

The sun seared holes through her body, turning her skin slick with sweat and chest into a slice of swiss cheese. It was the type of day CIAN MAHER lives for, not her. Afternoons spent cozy on the couch, tv flicked onto the newest Horror movie, with the rage of thunder and wind and rain brewing outside, rattling their trees and turning the world into a blanket of grey -- now that was Penelope's definition of a comfortable afternoon.

"Uhhh, 5 months maybe? It's hard to say." She punctuated her answer with a shrug. "I can't really afford to. But, i mean, it is what it is, right?"

From the left, an inteleon appeared, as sly as ever. He slicked back his fin. Unsure what he wanted, she offered him a Pokeball, and with a click, he vanished into it.

"it is what it is," he repeats in a small chuckle, "yeah, i know the feeling." it was an unfortunate circumstance to those not born with a silver spoon. but, still, one of the first things he'd learned was to pay yourself first.

"i think my last day off was... a year ago?" it's an aimless thought, not one to garner pity or anything like that, but rather common footing.

again the troublemakers find themselves harassing a poor, defenseless wild pokemon. the creature in question, a rare one by all regards, buzzed around with a placid expression. greyson grimaces, catching the thing.
