as if to cement her conspiracy theory, the sword of justice appears in the doorway behind them once the child's ritual concludes. they stare at the pokemon in awe and, despite herself, annalise does too before she remembers her avatarly composure.

"great job, kids! you made virizion appear!"

she turns to her patron with a coaxing gesture and eyes that seem to say your partner is up to some shit again. hopefully virizion would humor her.

matias is just about to nudge anna in her shoulder again before she finally realizes to snap out of it. but he understands. it must be awe-inspiring to be in the presence of a legendary. especially one as beautiful as virizion.[break][break]

that's as much of a hint he will give to virizion of their shenanigans today. the legendary turns to look at anna almost expectantly, as though waiting to see how the head ranger will respond.[break][break]

it feels like a lot of pressure, having an elite four member, a legendary pokemon, and two sickly children staring at her like that. [break][break]
"right!" it's emphatic, it's poorly acted. at least the kids seem too young and hyped up about virizion to realize she and MATIAS SILPH are winging it.

it's only when anna throws out the suggestion that virizion realizes what exactly she had gotten herself into. the swordsman glances over at matias, practically side-eyeing him. he pretends not to see her.[break][break]

if only for the sick kids' sake, virizion goes along with the act, energy flowing into her movements as she almost bounces as she nods.[break][break]

matias tosses the apple up, miscalculating his strength a little as the apple smacks into the ceiling only to fall right back down. thankfully, virizion is more than agile enough to swipe at it on the way down, her SACRED SWORD cutting clean through.[break][break]

annalise follows the trajectory of the apple with her eyes as MATIAS SILPH throws it. it zooms up toward the ceiling with humble brag strength, rattling the tile it strikes before falling back down. it lands on the floor in two pieces, cleaved by virizion's breakneck attack. [break][break]
the kids gasp and squeal with delight. even annalise is awestruck seeing the legendary pokemon work. if this is what she can do to entertain a couple of kids, she can only imagine what she's like in a real battle.

the responses are giddy.

it warms her heart to see virizion follow through with her stupid idea, even going as far to create some magical leaves that float into the kids' outstretched hands. wide-eyed, they marvel the little blessings the sword of justice has just bestowed on them. how cute!

annalise giggles a little too gleefully at MATIAS SILPH 's acceptance of being a big softie. she puts the back of her hand against her lips to stifle it, but her shoulders tremble with suppressed laughter. after all his bullying, it's nice to get back at him — even if he's just letting it roll off his back.

her amusement is swallowed as they move away from the hospital room, replaced by impressed surprise to hear that he and virizion have been finessed by little kids before.
