her smile disappears. there had been so much loss of life in sootopolis. the devastation has rippled out toward every corner of hoenn. she can't say she blames the kid for running off — life must be unbearable for him these days. [break][break]
"we'll find him." reassurance meant for both of them.

she releases her houndoom.

"we're looking for a lost child. can you help us? he ran off with a yamper."
[break][break]
it might be easier to pick up on a yamper's smell than a considerably unknown child. the fire-type lowers his head to the ground, sniffing at the dirt and grass at his paws. his odor sleuth picks up on something after pacing around her and Greyson Connors a bit, facing toward the woods. he signals for attention with a bark.

they move quickly, following in the hound's footsteps. he was comfortable with these woods; he'd been playing in them for over two decades, after all. but, a little extra help wouldn't be too bad.

"i'll see what we can pick up from the sky," he adds, releasing a pokemon that shimmers brilliantly beneath the midday sun, "we're looking for a boy, tidbit. alert me if you see him." she chirps, flutters her wings in a spectacle of green and orange, and takes to the trees.

houndoom sniffs around and takes a sharp left into the thicket.

"she is really beautiful, though." her houndoom plows through the foliage carelessly in pursuit of a scent, but annalise skirts around a bush to keep up with him. "also, like, if your other pokemon are cute and can help us out, i wouldn't mind a little more flexing."

"let me see who i have," he says absent-mindedly, hands reaching to the clippings on his pocket. after a moment of review, he makes a sort of 'ah' sound, and grabs a premier ball from his hip.

"didn't realize i'd brought him," in a flash of ivory light, an arcanine appears. his fur was the color of volcanic soot, tail large and flowing. a result of one of those distortions. "breeze, help us find the scent." he gives a look to annalise henderson as if waiting for the missing child's item.

a pokemon materializes in a flash of light, towering and dangerously fluffy. annalise lets out a little gasp, eyes lighting up at the sight. it looks like an arcanine, but not quite — could it have have been distorted like her lilligant? [break][break]
"oh — " she reaches into her pocket and procures a tiny, blindingly-yellow yamper figure for breeze to sniff. "here you go!"

they press on. curiosity gets the better of her.

the arcanine wasn't as familiar with anna as some of greyson's other pokemon, so it's not surprising to see anna's shock at the transformation.

"not always," he admits with a small smile, reaching to pat the canine on the head. "just kind of... happened i guess. he's not the first either. but, he seems to like his new form." if the tail wag was any indication.

"go on boy, see what you can find." breeze complies, and quickly his attention turns from the doll, to the soft earth around them, searching.

"cute enough for you?" the grin on his lips, slips all too easily into his question.
