a boat - a yacht? it was moderately sized, and, from where greyson stood on the harbor, he could hear the fizzling of the hot tub. that in particular rubbed him wrong — rocket didn't deserve hot tubs.

releasing a lapras into the nearby water, he gives it a single nod. an ICE BEAM lances out from water-line, up to the very bow of the boat. ice forms like jagged peaks, encasing the vast majority of the front end, and even lifting the thing up in a 45 degree angle.

it wasn't enough to dislodge the brow, but it certainly didn't look as neatly placed. greyson stands on the other end, hands in his pockets, a dark, gleaming comfey on his wrist.

Killian had barely begun to frown when the world tilted underneath him. His back hit the wall behind him with a loud thud. He didn't focus on the pain but tugged at Deoxys instead. The alien acted quickly, Teleporting them to the dock outside. [break][break]

a lancing ICE BEAM erupts from the mouth of the lapras, aimed directly at the ultra beast. then, like caught in the middle of a storm, it begins to RAIN.

A shimmering shield of PROTECTIVE light collides with the ICE BEAM, sending shards of ice scattering across the dock and into the nearby water. [break][break]

"Esspii." Loveless stepped from behind Killian, her fine-fur drenched. [break][break]

Naganadel charged Lapras, raindrops streaking across its purple hide as it aimed to pierce her throat with its needle, LEECHing the very LIFE from her veins.[break][break]

"you're not really making your case, man." someone who knowingly deals with thieves, thugs, murderers — guilty by association, really.

"and this isn't cocky," his smirk could be read as otherwise, "just warming up."

a wall of flowers (FLOWER SHIELD), each tinged in black or dark purple, shoots from greyson's wrist. it creates not only an effective barrier to which the ultra beast must pass through in order to reach his lapras, but it also blocks the creatures sight.

the second part was key.

from behind the veil of flowers, the temperature drops to dangerous levels. lapras summons a SHEER COLD so powerful that the water freezes instantaneously in her vicinity, and so too, do the flowers. even as the comfey's will leaves the shield, it does not fall.

a malevolent rainbow.
[break][break]
in his other hand, greyson tosses a pokeball up and down, eyeing the man across from him. the anger from sootopolis, from the ambush done onto him by THEO BECKETT and his ultra-beast, and the stress of the past few months. they all calcified into a bitter rage.

and he knew just who to vent it on.

"let's say you and me get a bit more serious." a scizor takes the field, it's steel coat reflecting the moonlight cast from the ice-sculpture. one look at the situation and it understands perfectly.

dozens of copies (DOUBLE TEAM) take the 'field', all converging on killian and his eeveelution.

Flowers and ice settled on the dragon's purple hide, one more damning the other. An eyeblink, a heartbeat, a second is all it took for the Ultra Beast to become an Ultra Popsicle. Water splashed as it dropped from the air into the ocean. [break][break]

Killian spared the creature a quick glance as it fell, eyes quickly shifting back to his own troubles. "Loveless, you know what to do." Killian whistled. [break][break]

Espeon took center stage, eyes glowing, unphased by the daunting veil of metallic red threatening an early curtain call. She called on a POWER that lay HIDDEN deep in her core. In a burst of heat, waves of purple fire shot forth at the hoard of Scizor. [break][break]

"You want serious?" Killian asked. He nudged at the monster feasting within him. In response, Killian's skin began to squirm, his blue eyes shifting red. "We'll give you serious."[break][break]

He reached a hand toward Greyson Connors and yanked his arm back, TELEKINESIS trying to pull the man into Espeon's fire. [break][break]

lifted from his feet, greyson's eyes widen. his mind has but a moment to question the correlation - of killian's arm lashing out, and greyson's subsequent loss of motor control - before all conscious thought is washed away through a pang of panic.

he counts himself lucky, then, that vector (his scizor) and her clones were already barreling after the small eeveelution. the main-body breaks off from the sea of illusions, rebounds off the ships hull, and wraps a pincer around the scruff of greyson's shirt.

she holds him even as the pull of TELEKENSIS remains.
[break][break]
"thanks vector," greyson says with an exhale, finally under control of his emotions. he turns a wary gaze onto killian, a breathy chuckle slipping through.

"you almost had me there."

but what almost had him? he didn't see a psychic-type, though, there were certainly species that could fit in a sleeve easily.

the lapras nearby whinnies concern, but he tosses her a reassuring smile, one eye trained on the underboss.

"keep an eye on your opponent," he instructs. popsicle or not, he didn't need that ultra beast coming back to haunt him. he reaffixes his full attention on the man in-front of him, the eerie glow of red orbs meeting his own.

"i thought we were getting serious?"

The transformation from human to monster took only a second. Covered in squirming biomass, Killian lunged, body moving inhumanely fast through the air. Instinctively Deoxys morphed Killian's arm into a razor-lined tentacle and whipped it at Greyson. [break][break]

The water beneath Lapras erupted, Naganadel bursting forth from the ice. The Ultra Beast wasted no time aiming its needle at the mammal. Now more than ever it needed to leech life from her blood. [break][break]
