The diminutive form of her Butterfree seemed comical next to the giant Mega-Beedrill, having been dragged back to earth by the winds of its
GUST.
So David felled Goliath, she thought with some amusement.
Amidst the tangle of bruised wings and stingers, the frail form of the injured young woman was pinned in place, but even after recalling the fainted Pokémon, the rider couldn't manage to stand. The bow that had caused Elisabeth so much distress was now stowed out of sight, and the Kommo-o that had assaulted her eardrums had been soundly punished with ice and wind.
One thing was immediately evident: the poison, slow and steady, was concluding its fatal work.
"Welcome back to earth," Elisabeth sneered as she walked forward. She motioned for her Toxapex to follow her closest while her Butterfree and Aromatisse kept behind, for her Poison-type had suffered the most egregious of all her Pokémon's injuries. It, more than any other of her Pokémon, would relish in finishing this battle once and for all.
A Milotic and Espeon both curled about the fallen rider protectively, faintly aglow with healing energies. Their eyes looked hatefully at the Rocket admin as she approached, their disdain for her completely dismissed by her own cool, aloof indifference.
"You wanted to kill me, didn't you?" Elisabeth said, the question twisted into a knife of accusation.
"Battles like that have one of two outcomes. I'm afraid you've lost this one, and you're the one who set the stakes this high."Holding a position of power over someone else -- being the one in
control -- filled her with a thrill she couldn't express. It spoke to the part of her that was broken, that was so desperately tired of being without her own agency that she punished others in the way she, herself, had once been.
"Poison is a slow death. But I can make it mercifully quick, if you like."She snapped her fingers, her Toxapex readied to strike with
VENOSHOCK as her Butterfree and Aromatisse prepared to engage the Milotic and Espeon in battle.
Elisabeth's lips moved to speak the command aloud, but ultimately never did as the pink colour of the Espeon's
WISH brought another unwanted memory to mind:
That of
John Sullivan, when he had unexpectedly spared her life on this very battlefield.
As if struck silent by a sudden affliction of paralysis, Elisabeth froze in place, unable to complete the act she had already resolved upon.
Why are you thinking of that weakness now?How vexing it was, this nagging guilt -- this sense that she was beholden to some man's kindness, for a simple mercy she'd never asked for. Was this a
debt, then? Did she owe him in some way for having allowed her to live, despite her never begging for such a thing?
Each precious second that passed sapped more health from the woman in front of her.
Elisabeth stared down at
Shalin Nariya with something between disdain and frustration, turning to a nearby arrow that had spilled out of her pack in the descent. Wordlessly, the Rocket admin walked over and stepped on it, crushing it in two.
It felt good, to destroy something. To distract herself from this unwanted dilemma.
"...I'm not letting you live," Elisabeth said finally, in a voice that was almost irritated with its own resolve.
"I am giving you a choice not to die, however. You have a little less than an hour. I advise you drag yourself to some place of healing, if you don't want to perish here."Elisabeth wouldn't heal Shalin, but she wouldn't kill her, either.
The woman's survival would be on her own merits.
"If you live, tell John Douglas Sullivan I said my debt is repaid. Next time we meet, I will not be so merciful."Turning her heel, the Rocket admin moved to depart.
MISTY TERRAIN pooled forth from her Aromatisse, shrouding Elisabeth as she vanished into the pink mist that blanketed the woods, her Butterfree and Toxapex recalled into Pokeballs.
AROMATISSE used MISTY TERRAIN to cover Elisabeth's retreat!
I would have killed her, Elisabeth promised herself as she ran, the thought looping over and over to convince herself.
I would have.Although a tiny seed of doubt whispered otherwise, one that she strangled the moment it came to mind.
TLDR:- Masked in green and white.
- Shalin done crashed while Kommo-o and Mega-Beedrill faint! Elisa villain monologues about VICTORY!
- TOXAPEX is prepared to kill Shalin Nariya while BUTTERFREE and AROMATISSE prepare to distract MILOTIC and ESPEON.
- Except oh no, the ESPEON reminds her of John Sullivan who spared Elisa's life in her first raid thread. Feelings are a bitch.
- Elisa can't bring herself to attack Shalin in this state, says 'if you wanna live then go ahead and do it.' Says to thank John Sullivan if she manages to make it out alive, saying her debt is repaid. Also 'you are running out of time so uh, move fast.'
- Uses MISTY TERRAIN to hide her retreat!
- Tries to convince herself she'd kill Shalin otherwise, but low key, she has no idea if she would. How evil is she? A question for another day!
- EXITING THREAD! Ty for the fun, hope you got to do everything you wanted in the finale!
