Sweat's still running down the back of her neck when she hears her name being called from the kitchen. Old sneakers are kicked aside and a ratty towel is thrown into the clothes' bin as Skyler makes her way through the small apartment, now awash in the mouth-watering scent of Alto Marean food. Dorado follows in her wake, sporting a blue bandana with Nautica's logo around his forehead.

"Heard you were lookin' for a nice ass, Angel."

Skyler pauses at the threshold, eyes glinting with barely concealed mischief as she forces her unruly halo of golden curls into a bun atop her head. The elastic looks like it's holding on for dear life; wayward curls escape here and there in staunch refusal to be held down.

She'll jump in the shower soon, she convinces herself. In a moment. There's more pressing matters to attend to now.

Like the scene that greets her.

It is as much the delicious scent waffling from the spoon Angelo's holding as it is the apron-clad man himself (honestly, no one has business looking that good in an apron) that seduces her into the kitchen.

She approaches her husband, back to the kitchen counter as her lips slowly close around the metal spoon. Silver eyes immediately widen.

"Holy fuck, that's hot."

The concept of family dinners still felt ever so foreign to him. Before being disowned they had become rarer and rarer as his father got busier with his work due to the war. Then it was a complete stop and he was living off fast food. So being accepted so warmly into the family that was Dross and Vestri still felt weird. So when Salem just forces the door open to allow them in Razz feels awkward about it. "You can't just barge your way into people's home," he tries to scold but the cat just looks at him with a gaze of 'why not?' as in the cat's logic this wasn't just some random people's home. [break][break]

Even Sabrina just seems to let herself with her usual boss of the universe attitude as she hears voices from the kitchen and begins to head there. Razz just sighs from the doorway before going in, "hello?" he calls out a bit awkwardly not used to just coming in. Though he figures the twin meowstic's presence in the kitchen might inform the married couple he was there.

Skyler would've bared her teeth and met angelo vestri 's quip with fierce indignation - if not for the inferno that had seen fit to explode within her mouth. She swallows it even as a splash of pink chases the freckless across her nose, equal parts stubborn and proud. Did it matter that her lips had grown a shade darker from being scalded? Not really, not when lips curl into a smirk that makes her want to bite into it.

"It's delicious." The words are halfway muffled by the gritted teeth, and she makes sure to pinch his butt as she kicks off from the counter when their visitors arrive.

Skyler's still a mess of wild hair and sport clothes when Salem and Sabrina arrive, strutting into the place like they owned it. A disgruntled Dorado would follow soon after, so puffed up it looked like he'd had an unfortunately dalliance with an electrical socket.

His amber eyes spell out death as he aims them towards Salem, then mellow out slightly as he finds Sabrina. Oh? A crush?

The sight makes Skyler grin, and she greets the cats with a wink before peeking out of the kitchen door. 

"I swear we're not doing anything that would taint your saintly sensibilities, Razz. PG-13 only here." Her grin is a wicked thing, and she makes a gesture for Razz Kingsman to enter. "Don't just stand there - you're family. And that means you gotta work too."

Despite their rivalry, and even the death glares the galarian meowth shot his way, because the cat didn't pay too much attention Salem gives them a friendly enough wave hello. Though its clear hes more enthusiastic to be saying hello to the married couple and Sammy. Meanwhile to keep on semi-friendly terms with the other family Sabrina gives a meh hi at best, there is a blink and you'll miss it more friendly glint when she would greet Angelo. The other cat not seeming to impress her enough to warrant anything special [break][break]

Though now with official permission he does enter, closing the door behind them before entering the kitchen with a simple "Yo," to the couple, though he seems confused about the whole 'working' aspect of it all, "I don't recall having to work last time?" he shoots back with some amusement, but he does get closer to the counter, but seems pretty lost on what he needs to even do.

The collection of plates is accepted with an inelegant huff and a quick, casual brush of fingers as she takes them from angelo vestri . Beyond the confines of their small kitchen, the sun is shedding its last hurrah to the world, and the sky outside their porthole of a window is painted a deep, star-speckled indigo.

A flick of her finger casts those growing shadows away, bathing the kitchen and those within in warm amber light. The clatter of porcelain on porcelain mixes with the squeaky commands of sous-chef Sammy as he lords over the kitchen (and, by proxy, Razz Kingsman himself).

Filling the kitchen with the sounds of a home.

"We still got a job opening if the rangers or Silph aren't treatin' you well. Lots of paperwork - you'd love it." The tease rides on the back of a lopsided grin, followed by the sound of her rummaging through the cutlery drawer. The captain knew Razz wouldn't take it, but his freely-given help had been a life-saver a couple of times now.

Sabrina's casual disregard of all things Dorado doesn't seem to register with the feline, at least not in a visible manner. The Galarian Meowth shakes himself, as if in preparation, and looks at the Meowstic from the corner of his eyes. Once. Twice.

Slowly, and in the most unsubtle way that is known to humankind, Dorado inches closer to Sabrina and rummages through his beard - finally presenting her with a small Sharpedo tooth.

"Seeing the amount of prep time it takes when you can just stick something in the microwave or order out? Seems like work to me," Razz teases lightly, knowing full well the other hated his collection of instant Ramen that he used when he had no energy to actually cook. Though he doesn't give much protest when he is given the wooden spoon to stir and just going with the flow of the motion. Though its clear he isn't the biggest fan of it, least it was simple. [break][break]

"Fine considering we all thought we'd be dead I guess?" he replies about his upkeep with a shrug, "Mostly been working as it feels like things have picked up," he continues as he stirs, giving a simple 'heh' as Skyler mentions there always being work for him. "There are several Rangers who aren't my biggest fans, but the bonus of being an independent with Silph Co is that I can choose not to work with them," he gest some even if his voice kept his usual serious tone. [break][break]

Meanwhile both cats seem to enjoy the pets, Salem very happily voicing his happy meow, while with Sabrina its the fact that she allowed him to do it in the first place that would be the indicator. Though as Dorado gives her a smile she just looks at the other cat with indifference as she looks to her brother seeming to expect answers. To switch Salem just gives the Meowth a devious smile of his own. His eyes just seeming to scream at the other 'what you gonna give me to put in a good word?'

The soft hum of conversation is backdropped by the sound of plates and cutlery. It is not often that the garish Bellossom-themed tablecloth (thanks, Mr Dross) makes an appearance. More often than not, Skyler and Angelo are too busy or too tired to bother with the whole ensemble.

Today, more than any other day, the kitchen has become the heartbeat of their little family. A little more alive. Equally theirs.

"Oi!" Angelo's quip is met with overdramatically furrowed brows and a not-so sneaky butt pinch. "Next time I'm kicking you overboard." 

Snaking an arm around her husband, Skyler steals an olive for herself too - far less stealthily. Her chin finds a rest on Angelo's shoulder, curiosity kicking every other emotion aside except for a growing outrage.

"Whaddya mean, some rangers aren't your biggest fans? You're the best Arceus-damned ranger in the region." 

She pops another olive into her mouth and chews angrily. Seed and all- it cracks under the pressure of her gritted teeth.

Nearby, Dorado's fluffed up appearance visibly deflates, not unlike a kicked puppy (ironically enough). The feline hesitates, then picks up the Sharpedo fang and cradles it between his paws. Salem's mischievous look doesn't even register- the pirate-in-the-making is too miserable to pay any attention.

Salem just claps to entertain the idea that Angelo would actually give their trainer's food away to them. Which only has Razz roll an eye with some amusement as he keeps stirring. Though Salem then focus back on the other cat who looks dejected from Sabrina not seeming to notice the meowth much. He seems to whisper something to his sister as it makes the female Meowstic look toward Dorado and his necklace before she says something along the lines of 'nice trinket' [break][break]

There is an embarrassed flush when Skyler calls him the best ranger. Praise still being something that felt too foreign to him. "I'm okay," he mutters before he gives some details, "A few Rangers were upset at me during the meeting before the Meteor fell, I called a guy out for leaving and his friend, Josh Devlin, has been at my throat ever since, we were put on a mission together in which I thought things were worked out until he unprofessionally cussed me out at his own racing tournament at the beginning," Razz shrugged, "I didn't win but I beat him so there's that I suppose, plus I still don't think Laurence Anderson has been happy with me since I took the job under FERNANDO SILPH so yeah"[break][break]

Again he just shrugs having just come to terms with it all. The Silph Co. Rangers and ollie morales were always welcoming at least.
