Eva tentatively watches Matias with an aire of caution. She doesn’t bother to ask him if he’s ok because there’s no way he is ok after hearing all of that and having to relive it all at once.

So, she gives him some space and time to process . . . but also stays close.

A little blue bird attracts her attention briefly. She vaguely remembers seeing if through the rifts when the space around their world was torn apart. The Roserade paralyzes the Squawkabilly with STUN SPORE before she tossed a pokeball towards it.

“Do you have any questions?” like how the fuck did he forget all that?

Lily takes it upon herself to sprinkle some STUN SPORE over a napping Smeargle. The little canine was snoozing comfortably against the trunk of a tree. It was quite the rude awakening when Eva chucked a pokeball at it.

“It’s so bizarre!” she shakes her head while she goes to retrieve her pokeballs. The doctor thinks for a few long moments. There’s no way he had selective amnesia, “Did you get hit on the head or something?” . . . What else has he forgotten?

”Hm,“ Eva’s brows pinch in thought as she considers the theory. She moves to retrieve her pokeball with her new Smeargle and tucks it away in the side of her pack.

“I guess it could have been the Cloud,” Eva considered the events for a moment, brief but detailed enough in her mind. She hadn’t seen any reports of lingering effects from their travels. Matias would be the first.

Lilly lures in a Mawile with SWEET SCENT before tangling it in vines. Eva tosses a pokeball at the pokemon as it struggles in the grass-type’s hold, “I remember forgetting how to love, but that didn’t stick with me,” obviously, “I wonder why your memory loss would have remained,” Eva hadn’t noticed anything else out of the ordinary about him.

Once the Mawile is secured, Eva takes her time to move slowly towards Matias. A hand reaches out to gently touch his arm. There’s obvious concern molded into her face.

“Are you alright?” she studies his familiar façade, having memorized each centimeter of it, “I know that’s . . . a lot to bring back to the surface,” she was willing to head home if he needed to take a break from their current hunt.

The pokemon that pass by go unnoticed.

Eva’s hand lingers on his arm for as long as he’ll allow it. She does feel a tinge of guilt for unloading it all on him at once. That was probably unwise.

“I understand,” she speaks softly, nodding along, “We’ll find him,” her hand gives a gentle squeeze, “I still owe him a sucker punch to the gut,” a debt that would not go unpaid. KING WAYLAND would be in for a rude awakening if he tried that shit on her again.

A Thwackey start to gently beat its sticks against the trunk of a tree, threatening to ruin the moment. The Roserade lashes out with a STUN SPORE stopping it mid thwak. Eva ignores it for now.
