How much Remiel knows of Mars’ own unwilling connection to the DRK Triad, the underboss is unsure. Those with access to the Unown Report have seen his name among its entries, those who entered the Cloud saw the Unown interface with him to free them all from that virtual realm, and those who, like Remiel, had recently belonged to Team Rocket’s top brass, had had access to reports detailing his interactions with the mysterious extradimensional organization.

Mars does not dwell on this, though. It’s more like an open secret, at this point; even some of those higher up in the League have their speculations.

“Yeah, that seems to be the case. Unless their intent isn’t actually to destroy this world.”

What is all this, then? Some kind of test? The possibility had crossed Mars’ mind before. If the DRK Triad actually works for Arceus, why do they have so much issue with destroying a single world? Is Arceus actually not as powerful as they had thought?

An ACID SPRAY comes without warning, and his Chandelure sweeps in to dispel it with an INFERNO. The ESCAVALIER that had cast that toxic attack in the first place comes charging in, interrupting the conversation between the two with an awfully loud chittering (METAL BURST). Micte, however, HEXES the armored bug and immobilizes it long enough for a swift capture.

Afterward, Remiel is free to return his attention to Mars. "These are dangerous times we live in," He comments, looking off towards an icy path just nearby. "Care to take a stroll with me? I'd like to explore this area."

A short-lived battle interrupts their conversation, and during it, the Gholdengo returns to Mars, bringing the Luxury Balls in which his previous captures are now confined. He pockets them, giving a simple approving nod to his pokémon before it snowboards away.

“Of course.” Is the response he gives Remiel, a smile never failing to illuminate his expression. However, they don’t walk for long before another interruption comes: this time in the form of an enormous Copperajah that seems keen on knocking one of the “ice sculptures” down.

No matter how strong, all of its attempts are in vain.

“Hmm…Awful lot of Steel types around here.” Mars comments, then whistling for his Gholdengo to take care of the enormous Copperderm. Oro does so dutifully, and THUNDER strikes the mighty beast.

A DURALUDON appears, seemingly offended by the loud racket the COPPERAJAH is making. When it is struck down with THUNDER, however, the dragon redirects its aggression to the swinging chandelier in the air. A sweep of a DRAGON TAIL misses, however, and an INFERNO makes quick work of it.

"Why do you think so?" Remiel asks of Mars in the midst of pulling out another empty Luxury Ball. "I've never known many Steel-types to be attracted to the cold." He tosses that ball at the scorched Duraludon nearby.

Remiel Calcifet has a point, voicing a question that has also been blooming in Mars’ own mind. Why are there so many steel type Pokémon here? What has drawn them to this place?

“That’s the question, isn’t it?” Mars responds as they walk, noticing a Cryogonal watching them from among the rising ice pillars. He decides to have Oro attack before the wild pokémon can, a whistled note being all the command that is needed for the Gholdengo to act. “There never were a lot of Steel types around here before. The outskirts of Oldale was all bugs and grass types and all that…”

Gold and ice clash, but soon enough, Oro is victorious, and a Luxury Ball is thrown as if to mark this fact.

Remiel muses on Mars' words for a moment but is interrupted when a CLOYSTER emerges from a nearby icy pool. It appears exhausted, perhaps having had to carve its way through a layer of ice to get to the surface. When it catches sight of the trainers, however, it immediately gives in to aggression, spitting ICE SHARDS at Remiel's Chandelure.

Micte is struck, spins around, and HEXES the Cloyster with great rage afterward. Succumbing to its exhaustion and the damage that hex causes, it falls unconscious in the water. Remiel follows up with the toss of an empty Luxury Ball afterward, then turns his attention back to Mars.

"LACUNOSA legend suggests Kyurem is an extraterrestrial Pokémon that descended within a meteor... " The tomes and scrolls he'd poured over were still neatly organized back at his office in the estate. "Yet others suggest Kyurem is the shell of a great dragon lost to time, cursed with cold to contain its power. Perhaps it had originally been Steel-type." He suggests.

"A great dragon lost to time..." Mars echoes Remiel's words, considering them for a moment. Yet, all they make the underboss think of is of Dialga. Funny, aren't they? Dragons? They seem to come in all forms and have a multitude of different abilities. Is Dialga even a dragon? It's what would make the most sense, especially if his interpretation of the Lake Trio's warnings is to be believed...

Just then, however, he notes a TOGEDEMARU hopping up to greet him. Stopping to crouch down and pet it, he smiles. "It seems like this little fellow would agree." Pulling out a poffin, he feeds it to the critter before tapping a Luxury Ball against its forehead.
