With the GRAFAIAI GANG hideout disassembled behind them, and the gang themselves left hogtied for a local ranger to deal with, MATIAS SILPH and Remiel Calcifet head back to PETALBURG CITY through the PETALBURG WOODS. This walk also serves as a means to comb the area for any gang members who might have slipped away during the off-screen kerfuffle.

Petting his SHINY LYCANROC for a job well done, the Galarian shifts his attention to the Silph as they continue onward. "So tell me... have you always wanted to be Elite Four? I always assumed your family valued business over such titles." He admits.

Perhaps Matias, too, had his whole life written out for him before he'd even been born. And perhaps he'd also rejected the notion. Though Remiel can only guess at this point.

what is a measly gang compared to a prince and an elite four? their work does not take them very long but it's still important to scan the area to make sure there aren't any who got away.[break][break]

A military man. The prince had thought he'd recognized the aura. He had served with the GALARIAN ROYAL MILITARY himself for eighteen months. It was a service required of all able-bodied Galarian men over the age of eighteen — especially those of royal blood who were expected to garner many accolades during that time.

To join at such a young age, however, astonished Remiel. It partly explained why Matias had become the man he was today. Before he can ask another question, however, a ROSELIA emerges from the bush, dancing and wafting a SWEET SCENT into the air. The fragrance is overwhelming to Adal's sensitive nose, however, so he strikes with a FIRE FANG. Afterward, Remiel cleans up with a Luxury Ball.

Remiel can tell the fact doesn't mean much to Matias — at least in the sense of garnering their approval. His own relationship with his rather large family was quite complicated, and he didn't seek their approval either. Death, however, was something different. He didn't even wish death upon his controlling, indifferent, and ice-cold mother.

Nevertheless, Remiel offers a solemn nod. "My condolences." He says, watching as an ACCELGOR attempts to strike at his Lycanroc with a QUICK ATTACK. They don't know they'd captured its girlfriend: the Roselia from before. The attack proves ineffective, however, and it, too, succumbs to a vicious FIRE FANG before capture.

A rather pesky SALANDIT belches SMOG at them from a tree above. It feels as though its territory has been encroached upon. When Adal catches a whiff of this toxic smoke, however, he growls. With an ACCELEROCK, the wolf swiftly scales the tree before swatting it down.

Meanwhile, Remiel chuckles. "I have the opposite problem, it would seem," He responds, pulling out a Luxury Ball to cast it down and capture the Salandit. "My family is great in number, but I only get along with a small handful of them. The rest would likely rather see me dead or exiled. Being the heir apparent draws all manner of bad attention." The royal adds.

Sniffing out a TOXIC THREAD, Adal leaps in to intercept when Remiel is just about to brush the Spinarak away with his bare hand. It strikes the bug down with its ACCELEROCK, and it falls to the ground and crumples up like a piece of paper. Its little more than a defense mechanism, however: playing possum. Remiel pulls out a Luxury Ball and catches it.
