They had not managed to find the source of the mysterious cry from the previous night. The inclement weather had only gotten worse, and Remiel had suggested they return the next morning to resume their search. After all, it could be something quite dangerous to the region.

Nevertheless, Remiel wouldn't have asked if he didn't find MATIAS SILPH interesting. So he waits for him at the predesignated spot with a large SALAMENCE by his side, smoking a cigarette before seeing him approach. Lifting a single hand, he waves. "Welcome back."

"Hm... possibly," Remiel answers, flicking his cigarette into the ground then stamping it out with one single stomp of his boot. "If it retreated into METEOR FALLS, anyway. Otherwise, I'd expect Route 114 to look like the Silent Icelands." He adds, watching as his Salamence sniffs about. "Dragons tend to shape the environment to their personal liking."

Suddenly, a THIEVUL pounces from the bushes to try and get the jump on Remiel with a SUCKER PUNCH. Thankfully, his dragon is there to catch the fox in its jaws with a THUNDER FANG. It's shaken around like a rag doll before being dropped at the royal's feet. He then spares a moment to pull out an empty Luxury Ball from his pack before catching it.

he has to settle for a marowak instead, one he already has. his rampardos charges with its ZEN HEADBUTT, knocking the ground-type away.[break][break]

After their respective ambushes, the pair are free to travel down a trail leading into the dark forest. Remiel's Salamence takes this opportunity to soar into the sky above. Remiel, on the other hand, responds to Matias' inquiry shortly after.

"I can't say for sure. I suppose it's as likely to be hidden away in some rift as it is in the Silent Icelands... unfortunately, I wasn't there to set eyes upon it myself." He adds, stopping when a loud stomping approaches. Not showing any signs of nervousness despite that, however, he continues. "How about you?"

Sure enough, an aggressive RHYPERIOR emerges to block their path with a dangerous TAIL WHIP. At least until HOTCHKISS descends from the sky with a ZEN HEADBUTT. It manages to daze the Rhyperior and send it crashing into the ground, after which Remiel captures it.

he gestures all around them at the odd weather. there's no way its passing presence would be enough to influence all this. it has to be here, present. he just does not know where to start looking.[break][break]

a two-headed dragon appears but it is not the one they are looking for. it cries as rampardos' FRENZY PLANT wraps around it, holding it in place.[break][break]

Remiel nods in understanding. "That's true. Between the dome falling and the rifts, however, it's hazy to tell what is affecting what... and to which degree." He laughs. "We're living in a fantastic part of history, aren't we?" He adds, watching as a SANDSLASH emerges out from the ground to hiss at them.

When it notices the Salamence closing in on it from above, the Sandslash rolls itself up into a DEFENSE CURL. This proves fruitless against the blazing DRAGON BREATH that descends upon it, however. When the attack ceases, Remiel pulls out a Luxury Ball and casts it at the now unconscious Sandslash. Remiel, in the meantime, regards Matias' enthusiasm with a smile. "It certainly would be."

he's pulled away briefly by the scrafty. it looks eager and ready for a fight, judging by the way it flips off the rampardos, exuding its SWAGGER.[break][break]

CONFUSED, rampardos charges with a ZEN HEADBUTT, more intense than ever as it slams into a tree. it falls conveniently over the scrafty, knocking it out.[break][break]

Suddenly, a roar. The very same they had heard the previous night! With little warning, a BAXCALIBUR shoots out of the forest at them in full GLAIVE RUSH. "Matias, watch out!" Remiel warns, leaping out of the way.

The prince is narrowly missed, hitting the dirt path with his chest before hurriedly getting up again. When he turns, he finds his Salamence scorching the Paldean creature with a DRAGON BREATH from above. It helplessly snarls and jumps to try and DRAGON CLAW the airborne wyrm.

Before long, the BAXCALIBUR succumbs.

A MANDIBUZZ encircles them above, seemingly hoping to feast on the dragon. Remiel shatters that hope when he pulls out a Luxury Ball and catches it, however.

"We should check if there are more nearby. Baxcalibur could be disastrous to this environment in large populations." He adds, looking around.

remiel's warning alerts him just in time for him to be able to conjure up a WALL OF EARTH. it shoots up in front of him, slowing the GLAIVE RUSH down enough for him to simply step out of the way.[break][break]

his rampardos' FRENZY PLANT bursts forth, crawling as though the roots were searching for their target. they wrap around the baxcalibur, holding it down long enough for the salamence to deal with it.[break][break]
