It did not take long for Shalin to witness the horror before them. Hordes of obviously bug-type Pokémon battling it out with force that grew as they downed each other, BEAST BOOSTs making their strength grow as time passed. While Flit's wave of buzzing kept Shalin partially shielded, not even the Yanmega could keep her fully protected. She let out a blood-curdling scream, patches of red appearing all over her exposed skin as the sonic attack left multiple tears in her clothes.

Her BLUE VEST was the only piece of clothing fully intact, and it had yet again saved her life.

Shalin was reeling, her head thumping. She knew how powerful vibration could be; arguably, she specialized in using it as her means of attack. While it prepared her for the next level of her training, it did so in the most violent way possible. She was a goner if another sound wave like that hit her. She wanted to catch one of these for herself, but there was no way she could get close enough to one. She had only one means to safely thin the herd, and it would be anything but safe. Playing things safe was not an option, either.

Shalin, with Flit's reins still in hand, crossed her arms at the wrists, then released them at an angle unlike a bird's unfurled wings. Her Z-Bracelet glowed with a lavender light as her mount's wings started buzzing at full speed.

"Flit, SUPERSONIC SKYSTRIKE!"

The Yanmega plowed into the Bug-type horde head-on, cutting a big line through them and causing many more to back down. Many of the fighting Buzzwole gave nods of appreciation to the girl. Some in the center stood aside, revealing a red, exoskeleton-like Pokémon egg, mucus dripping from every orifice. It seemed like the egg was a gift to her for her hard work in repelling the Pheromosa from their nest.

attacks erupted around them, announcing the return of shalin and andrea. just in time. after seeing them both in action, he had no concerns about them holding their own.[break][break]

stealth rock brought jagged rocks between the buzzwole and pheromosa, stopping it short. stones toppled off of nearby formations, then, a rock slide rolled down into the buzzwole and pheromosa on either side, knocking the roach out of its rapid spin.[break][break]

golem’s brick break came down, effectively disorienting the pheromosa. a pokeball slapped it in the head, bouncing on the ground and soon glowing with a satisfying click.[break][break]

When Shalin was offered that alien egg, everything became clear. "I see! You and your friends were just trying to protect your nest from invaders!" Andrea observed, the Buzzwole that was bridal carrying her nodding in confirmation. Soon, they regrouped with everyone else.

"Thank you for saving me." The girl gave her unexpected knight in shining armor an appreciative nod. "Say, would you like to be my friend?" She offered, since the Buzzwole seemed to have taken a liking to her. In response to her offer, the large bug happily flexed its bulging muscles. The rest of its kin followed suit, striking various bodybuilding poses as a way of showing their gratitude to the humans.

With Chomper returning to her, and a new friend in tow, Andrea was ready to leave this eventful desert. "OK, let's go back home!" Bringing an invasive species to Hoenn was probably ill-advised, but if anything, today had shown that perhaps humans and Ultra Beasts could become allies after all.

The onslaught of powerful Pokémon attacks thinned the horde of Pheromosa to the point where the rest of the thin bug-types backed down. All that remained were Buzzwole, both alive and fallen, alongside the egg they had presented Shalin. Knowing she would collapse if she tried to dismount her Yanmega after he used a Z-Move that fast, she had Piccolo retrieve the egg for her. The Noivern was able to grab the egg successfully, but with how sticky the mucus covering it was, it got stuck in her talons!

"We'll get this fixed... when we leave," Shalin panted, both from the whiplash of the SUPERSONIC SKYSTRIKE and the horrible internal injuries she had suffered from the devastating BUG BUZZ. It was an eternal reminder of just how dangerous vibration was as a weapon, and how well her new friend would need to be trained before she mounted up.

"Come on... everyone. Let's... go... home."

the fight died down, and the remaining pheromosa were driven off by their collective efforts. when it was safe, bo went to pick the pokeball up off the ground. his first ultra beast. hopefully, with the rifts open now, the first of many. if they had to be so close to home, might as well be in his pocket.[break][break]
he patted the stone shoulder of his golem appreciatively. ”good job everybody.” even cian.[break][break]
he only then noted the egg in shalin’s possession, with curiosity, but decided he could ask once they were back out of the rift again. it was time for rest and studying the newest addition to his team.[break][break]
