After an arduous training session with their pokémon, it would have been easy to go to the casino to grab a bite when already being in Sootopolis, but they fancied a change in scenary, so here they are: at the Lilycove country club.

They had found themselves a nice table by the beach, and with the country club being provided fresh seafood by the local fish market, the sashimi truly is to die for (the Wingull watching them from overhead think so too, but Mars pays no mind to their presence just yet).

Brunch was always welcomed, and the change of scenery in Lilycove City was quite nice. It was relaxing, cups of water poured for them as their orders were taken back to be prepared. Summer waited almost impatiently for her peach flavored mimosa to be brought out.[break][break]

Her hand absentmindedly ran through the fur of her ARCANINE, resting silently at her side. Her large paws were crossed in front of her as her head rested on top of them, leaning just against her trailer's leg.[break][break]

"If this is how all of our training sessions go, I think I'll come to all of them," Summer said with a smirk.

Overhead, the Wingull cry, and with a twitch of his round ears, the Persian looks up, letting out a rumbling prusten. Calm, the huge feline gets up, stretching as if aware of what may happen.

Summer chuckled, grabbing her mimosa as soon as it was set down in front of her. "Darling, I know you'd do the same thing if you were in my position. We are one and the same, Mars," she said with a sip.[break][break]

"Ah. So good."[break][break]

And so was the smell of the food, as it wafted toward her. Even Ragnarok lifted her head, sniffing the air to get a wiff of the smell. But just as Summer was going to dive into the food, the cries of the WINGULLS grew louder, and there was a flurry of white feathers in front of her.[break][break]

"Augh- the fuck! Scram! Shoo!"

"Ah, that we may just be indeed." He agrees with a laugh, taking a sip from his own glass. Mimosas aren't usually Mars' thing, nor is daytime drinking, but he's all for classics, and mimosas are without a doubt a staple of brunching.

"Are you kidding me?" is his immediate reaction when the Wingull swoop down to steal their food, followed by an annoyed click. Dollar responds, of course.

With a mighty roar, the Persian shifts the breeze, turning it into an ICY WIND that shuts the Wingull's beaks and freezes their wings, slowing them down in their attempt to escape with the pair's meal.

Thanks to Mars's PERSIAN'S help, Ragnarok was able to strike. With a small blow, quick and tiny FLAME WHEELS were sent out to char the birds, bringing them down to her level. Well, at least they seemed cooked.[break][break]

Summer huffed, looking down at the mess on the ground. "Jeez. Someone should make sure that pests are controlled and not around in establishments like these. Go ahead, Ragnarok. They're yours, unless Mars's wants one."[break][break]

Ignoring the happy look on her Pokemon's face, she looked back at the food.[break][break]

"We need to send this back."

The scent of burning feathers is not exactly what he'd like to be smelling when enjoying his bunch, but it's not like there's anything left to enjoy anyway. Mars sighs, giving Dollar a vague wave that almost seems to say go ahead.

The huge Persian steps closer to the charred birds, greeting Ragnarok a low chuff and lightly rubbing his side against the Arcanine in the way that is so typical of cats. Then, he takes one of the Wingull, pleased with this unexpected feast.

"No kidding. You'd expect better from a place like this." Mars says, but of course, he's understanding when staff arrives with a million apologies, giving them his best 'I forgive you for your mistakes' smile.

Looks like their brunch will be free after all.

Summer, on the other hand, made no eye contact as they came back to take the plates, instead furiously typing at a breakneck pace on her phone and sipping on her mimosa. She only looked back up when the plates were gone, sighing loudly.[break][break]

"I sent a message about the pest problem to the owner," she said, showing her messages.[break][break]

There were profuse apologies, and of course Summer sent pictures of the charred WINGULLS as proof. And, soon enough, more food was back.[break][break]

"I hope we aren't disrupted this time."

Mars could laughed, and yet he does not, perhaps out of simple consideration. Perhaps because Martín del Mar is a carefully curated persona who would never break character in public. Respectable but never cruel, charismatic but high above all these people.

"Summer, they were already worrying they'd get fired. You'll send them into full panic attack." He tells her with a slight smirk once they're on their own again, because frankly he does expect them to get fired. If Summer hadn't contacted the owner, he would have done so later.
