"Fifteen?" Josh asked, getting confirmation of Asher's age. "I wish I could get you a job as a Gym Trainer. You'd make a good one. Unfortunately, because you are under eighteen years of age, the positions I'd be able to offer you at my Gym is limited. When you come of age, though, I can already see you have the talent to be one." When he mentioned he needed a Pokémon with Teleport, Josh shrugged. "There aren't a lot of Pokémon that can learn how to TELEPORT. However, ALLY SWITCH works in a pinch! Come here, Janus! Let's go back downstairs."

Provided Asher followed him and his Eeveelutions back, Josh would give the young teen a demonstration. "Long as there's a willing Pokémon, or even a motionless object in sight, you can use ALLY SWITCH like a limited-range teleport!" With that, he sat astride his Espeon. Once the Gym Leader's hands were firmly on the psychic-type's reins, he commanded Janus to use ALLY SWITCH. The psychic-type and dark-type disappeared into the astral, reappearing in swapped positions. "See, he can even take me with him!"

Asher's story about Mount Pyre ripped at his soul. Meteno was awful for Josh, but was the surface war somehow worse? And they were conscripting children? He didn't have any words to say; his wide-open mouth communicated everything Asher needed to know about his feelings about it.

Josh had discovered the technique when working with Callan Young months ago. The move was quite flexible, the racer having used it multiple times in the past to get out of some tricky situations. "There are weight and size limitations on what he can switch with, and the object can't be in motion, but it's really helpful! Alright, Janus, that pot over there!" The Espeon took Josh with him to the corner of the room, switching places with a pot containing an indoor plant. Once the psychic-type was ready to, he reversed their position again, returning the plant back to its rightful place.

The way Asher described Minor League Gym Leader Rosmontis (Eris Halla ) made Josh sick on the inside. It was strikingly similar to the girl that King Zing has damn near killed. There was not a word he could say. Was the person he attacked that day really Rosmontis' hidden identity? He hoped he was wrong. "...I'm gonna turn this into HQ. You should come with me," he abruptly changed the subject. "That way, we can both get our cut of the check. I'm sure Lena will be happy, too. I need to send her an email about it."

He wanted to cry.

"And Asher? It was nice to see you again. I hope we get to work with each other in the future. Thank you."
