Carefully, she reached out to accept the gemstone in her hands. Its edges were rough and jagged, with colorful sprouts of red vibrating from the inside out.

Though, truth be told, she hadn't even started looking. There were a few candidates that came to mind; Callan Young and Melody Miro were both trainers she already held experience working under.

the elite four remains one of the region's strongest trainers both in traditional battles and in real fights. her experience defending the region is second to none. so there's a lot that could be learned from her should penny wish to.[break][break]

with a curt nod, he watches her take her leave, and even if he knows better, he still wants to reach out to stop her. this is nice, he thinks; this small amount of time spent together even if it had started off rocky. but then again, isn't that how most of their interactions start?[break][break]

his gaze follows her, expecting to see the door shut close behind her only to be pleasantly surprised. not that he shows it, of course. at least nothing beyond the faint smile that still lingers from earlier.[break][break]

Her eyes crept from the door hinges to its handle, to whatever laid hung onto the wall beside it. Every little detail Penelope could focus on, she did. All to avoid the lingering call to turn around.
