METAL CLAWS. It growls in
FRUSTRATION, scoring deep marks into the frozen earth.[break][break]
Shadows gather beneath Lugia's broad wings.[break][break]
But before she can exact retribution, a deafening
boom echoes through the air. Gavin flinches and covers his ears, which ring violently in the aftermath. Lugia screams in fury, a bolt of
THUNDER slamming down in answer.[break][break]
She wheels in the air, clearly intent on pursuit, but Gavin spits.[break][break]
"We might catch him if he travels in a straight line," he appeals to the legend, tone dry,
"but I doubt even he's that stupid."[break][break]
He can feel her spite and anger simmer. Without answering him, she plunges into the chilly waters between the routes. She would seek the ocean's abyss for comfort, he knew, and wait until the fury abated. Gavin recalls his Sandslash in favour of a Dhelmise, which swallows him up with a
PHANTOM FORCE. He goes not in pursuit of the gym leader, but home.
