The young ranger can't help but chuckle as the description he was putting on about Eris's situation on how he wanted to help. Makes him think too closely to his own situation as a kid, main difference between both situations though was that Eris had the options and people on her side who wanted to give her a chance. Maybe there is a small pang of annoyance that she just refuses to take it but he choses not to judge her still. Knowing that he also had troubles as a kid with his own realization to many things. [break][break]

"Believe me I can relate far more than you realize," he offers more to try and make it so he relates to the other's feelings on protecting Eris rather than anything else. [break][break]

For now he listens to the other as they make their favors, a brow raising under his headband as the other seems to give a name. He wonders on the relationship now between this El Sunderland and him is but figures she can have the same treatment as the rest of his Rangers over at Slateport. A simple test of truth didn't hurt... much. "I'll see what I can do but I can't make any full promises," is what he offers for now, though his arms cross as he seems to ask about Eris' attacker. [break][break]

And while Josh Devlin wasn't his favorite person in the slightest, especially after what he did to Eris, he was still a Ranger. And Razz wasn't turning in his own, "The League has punished them behind the scenes," he informs making sure to even avoid the proper pronouns to avoid any hints on who it was as they try to assure the other, "As to whether or not I could add more to it I'm not sure as they might think they've been punished enough, but know it isn't like they received nothing for their crime." he attempts to reassure because he knows one of the major reasons people join Rocket was because the lack of consequences the league seems to give some people.[break][break]

Isaac's voice frayed, disbelief, anger, and despair pulling at the seams. Was this seriously how the League handled their internal affairs? Were they really that willing to throw Rocket under the bus for every little scratch and bump they took, but the second they had any dirty laundry they threw it out of the public eye?[break][break]

"Razz, a child nearly died. And the League's just gonna tuck it away like nothing happened?" Agony. That was what all of those thoughts and feeling swarming his head bled into. "How the hell is anyone supposed to trust the League when they pull this shit?"[break][break]

"How is she supposed to trust them?"[break][break]

Rocket, the group that killed her family, ruined her life, and abused her into serving them, somehow felt more like a safe haven in the girl's eyes than the League. Isaac hated that fact more than anything else, but he was starting to understand why. Half of his tone was an accusation, a last bit of rage against the dying of the light. The other half was a plea, asking the only man he could think to turn to how they could fix this.[break][break]

Even if they had to move heaven and earth, there had to be away.[break][break]

Isaac didn't want to live in a world where there wasn't.

"You think I don't get that? But the sad fact is that it wasn't just any child it was a child of ROCKET," Razz pauses to try and let that sink in before he would explain because it seemed like this man wasn't from the Kanto Era of things otherwise he would understand that. [break][break]

"Little lesson for you in Kanto not even a Rocket child was safe, because there would be people like you or me who wouldn't want to hurt a kid, Rocket knew it and so used them, trained them to be dangerous learned how to take advantage of that hesitation," he describes his own experience as a lesson for the other give insight the other man clearly didn't have but someone had to take account for it. "And in the League's eyes Eris has time and time again chosen Rocket, even now rather than come to me or her dad who did she run to? Rocket. [break][break]

And while what the person did is FAR from being in the right sad fact is its hard for people like them to see pass the Rocket label," and that was the a harsh truth to the matter. It was why Razz hasn't revealed who he was and why he has tried to do as much good as he can because at the end of the day, despite the other Ranger's failed attempt to kill some kid, Razz had killed kids his age back in Kanto. "And you're right I know its hard to trust the league with some of the bullshit they pull but guess what? They're not the ones who killed her parents then took her in as a 'substitute family'"

[attr="class","skullbody"]Isaac wanted to argue that this couldn't be true. He wanted to argue that even an organization as cruel and merciless as Rocket wouldn't stoop to such a level. He wanted to argue that this would be the first thing on the chopping block when Rocket tried to be better than Kanto.[break][break]

But he couldn't.[break][break]

Not after he saw how attached the children of Rockets like jayden cross were to their cause. Not after the report that Eva Morales had put out about the current conditions in Kanto, a region they had broken over their knee. Not after Caleb Harcourt had told him, directly an in no uncertain terms, about the horrors that he had enabled.[break][break]

"I . . . I can't let them . . ." Hadn't they already killed her family and replaced them, instilling a sense of dependency beyond mere Stockholm? Hadn't they already press-ganged her into various crimes, her struggles developing a sense of ruthlessness that could easily benefit them? Hadn't they already convinced the League that she was an enemy, leaving her no choice but to sink into their arms even as they abused her? "Arceus, they already started, haven't they? We need to get her out of here . . ."[break][break]

Yet the League was culpable, too. For all they professed to defend the region from Rocket, they let one of its biggest victims suffer in silence. "If he can't see past the Rocket label and think for himself when dealing with a literal child, then why the fuck is he a Ranger?" Isaac demanded. "You guys are supposed to be protectors. Yet you're showing up to the frontlines of every war. You're letting your members off light for brutalizing the people you're supposed to protect. And now you're driving one of the region's biggest victims into the arms of her abusers."[break][break]

"How the hell am I supposed to trust you guys with my sib-!?"[break][break]

Fuck. Fuck, fuck, fuck. Isaac almost said too much. He clamped down on his tongue, the pain he felt blurring into the anxiety and pressure as tears burned at the corners of his eyes. The last thing Isaac wanted was to make things harder for El Sunderland by having the head ranger know the nature of their tie.[break][break]

Sheer, unadulterated terror pounded in his chest.

"What do you think I've been doing? But unless Eris finally makes makes that choice we're stuck," Razz counters as it seems there is some information finally dawning on the other. Arms cross as the other goes by 'he' now rather than picking out an unknown like before. Razz just standing there as he takes what the other has to say. Another seeming to have the wrong idea about the Rangers like so many others. Though he doesn't miss the detail at the end and he is able to put in the puzzle piece. [break][break]

Razz just sighs, "Look we're Rangers, we specialize in Pokemon and Nature, not Rocket not people," Razz tried to clarify a misconception he believes most people have with the Rangers. "I don't know who you think it is, but know just like you have problem people in Rocket we have problem people too, but as for your sibling goes," he decides to finish the word for the other who tried to conceal it.[break][break]

"Know that she's fine because while there are also decent people in Rocket, there are decent people within our ranks as well, we even have a rehabilitation program you know?" Razz offers up that wee bit of knowledge for the other whatever it would mean to him. "But for now we should really be off, I still have more business to do," Razz would look to Reiner and walk slightly closer to him as Eris rested on the cat. "You're welcome back at my place if you want to keep her somewhere safe," is all he gives the Luxray once again making it a choice because he knows he can't force it.

Perhaps Mesprit would be able to identify that the emotions surging from Isaac were older, stronger, equal parts closer and more distant compared to the indignation that Isaac felt when speaking of Eris. But outside of him and Mes, the nature of the sibling Isaac spoke of would remain a secret.[break][break]

He decided to take the win while he could, instead focusing on what Razz had to say about the Rangers. "That's how it should be. But with the crisis going on in the region, it feels like that's been changing," Isaac said. Would they step up into the role that it seemed the court of public opinion was assigning them? Or would they put their foot down and set the record straight? "The world's watching. One way or another, you either gotta prove it right or prove it wrong."[break][break]

Like Isaac was one to talk. The world was watching Rocket as well, and they'd already come to a far clearer, more consistent conclusion. "Starting to think how we define problem people and how Rocket does are two very different things," he mused. "At least the Rangers have hope of being better. So don't you dare waste any chance for that better, alright?"[break][break]

It felt strange, candidly admitting to a Head Ranger that he'd given up on any chance of Rocket getting better. It was freeing. It was dangerous. It was terrifying. But when Rocket themselves had given up on any hope of getting better, why shouldn't he do the same? They gleefully stripped the shiny paint off their own propaganda, and had nothing left to argue but "the League is bad, too."[break][break]

They were right. They shouldn't be right. And that was why, even through the impotent pleas he sent Razz's way, Isaac wanted to see change.[break][break]

He sighed, shaking his head. "Look, I'm not angry at you, okay? I mean, sure. I am. I'm angry at the League. But also at Rocket. And war. And life. And Arceus. And . . . fuck, man. I'm angry at me, too, because I'm sick of not being able to change a damn thing about it."[break][break]

"You didn't have to listen to all of this junk. But . . . thanks, Razz."

The young Head Ranger gives a forced weak laugh as the other mentions that the Rangers had the chance to do better and not to mess it up. Because of course more pressure was going to do well right? Razz swears he is going to go grey before he turns 23 at this rate. Though he just gives a nod to the other in understanding about their anger toward everything. For now just giving a nod to the other, "Don't worry I get you far more than you realize," he admits[break][break]

"And sometimes its hard to get things off your chest when at times everything you're saying is considered traitorous," he admits thinking back to an old conversation he once had with Cillian Quinn when he was a teenager when he was first having his doubts and Razz thought he was talking to someone he could trust. Just for everything to blow up in his face.[break][break]

"No problem?" is all he responds back as he checks his phone and knows he needs to get going now as he gives the other a wave and would probably give a pokemon to help Reiner should he decide to head back.

[attr="class","inner-finally"]With the whole conversation that's gone on, Reiner has done his best to balance Eris and keep her from falling off his back while she sleeps. Or well, while she's pretending to be asleep - It's a little hard for a light sleeper like her to keep drifting off when their voices are relatively loud. But at some point, it had grown quite awkward for Eris to get back up without disrupting the conversation.[break][break]

As Razz offers to take them in, Reiner hesitates a little. His tail curls upwards towards Mesprit, attempting to present her in some light as he growls. Their original objective had been to look for things related to the pixie and that hasn't quite changed but he still dips his head in acknowledgement, a sign that he'll consider it on her behalf.[break][break]

Though, he already has a feeling that he knows what Eris will choose.[break][break]

For now, the Luxray tries his best to arc around, shoving his snout into Eris' backpack before pulling out what seems to be a pocket radio. And then he does his best to shove it into Razz's hands, giving a strained toothy grin as if that might help to explain everything.[break][break]

They'll keep in touch, he just has to listen out for any signals.
